Reviews
Khun Chai Rachanon is the fourth part of the Suparburoot Juthatep’s series. It had a different approach than the other three parts. Chai Lek and Chai Pee are my two favourite brothers so I was certainly looking forward to the last two stories but that’s not all. Beside the fact that Chai Lek was player and a fun character to follow; the written plot for his part was without doubt better than his three elder brothers.
Chai Lek isn’t a heavy player like Chai Pee; he’s also not sneaky as the youngest brother but he can be very sarcastic and warm in need. The fourth part stirred an interesting turn of events; another kingdom, crown prince-search and a contract marriage within. Although the last idea may seem too repetitive since it was used in Chai Pat’s story but this one was entirely different. There weren’t too much love story going on here since the plot concentrated on the Viangphukham kingdom problems and some birth secrets (that were plain obvious) here and there.
Chai Lek’s character couldn’t shine as much as his brothers’ characters in their stories; maybe that’s due to the packed characters and events. Of course, he stopped being a player and started falling in love but that part wasn’t well-illustrated. There should’ve been more characters’ developments than that.
The acting was okay, Bomb wasn’t that great of an actor to be honest but it was acceptable as your average Thai lakorns’ acting. Taew was better though, she had this way of making her character believable and enjoyable to follow. The chemistry was cool but slow-sailing, it took me some time to connect to their couple. As I mentioned above, this part was packed with many characters and thus we had a nice side love story and some good characters here and there. However, none of them is that memorable.
The bromance in this part was present with strength, the five brothers cared for each other and they were united to fight for a common cause. Although the action was lame as your standard Thai lakorns but the five lions of Juthatep can be quite badasses when the duty calls.
Watch if:
-You liked the previous three stories.
-You like adventurous lakorns.
Do not watch if:
-You’re looking for an excellent lakorn.
-You’re looking for a gripping love story.
Khun Chai Rachanon is the better executed part thus far but it doesn’t mean it was excellent by any chance. Now, I am certainly looking forward to the last brother and my favourite player of the bunch; Khun Chai Ronnapee.
Soifah is excellent
●HOW I CAME TO ITI came straight to watch the fourth gentleman of Chuthathep, Khun Chai Rachanon after finishing the third part because my excitement had increased.
●FIRST IMPRESSION
am glad I watched this amazing story, it's full of surprises. I wish I had not read the synopsis then it could have been more exciting. This had kept my expectation and is even better than the third series.
●STORY
To avoid the marital promise Khun Chai Rachanon/chai lek escapes from Bangkok to the border city. While hiking in the forest he gets lost and is saved by our FL Soifah. Chai Lek learns that he is in a village of refugees who have escaped to Thailand from Wieng Pukam waiting to go back and helps them.
●PLOT VIEW
Chai LEK and Chai Pee had always been playful and this series shows also this bond when Chai Pee helps him to escape and then the story fully focuses on FL Soifah and her background. I was delighted to see that because it was the first of the series which had more focus on her side of the story. but then this series also had given the opportunity to the Chthathep brothers to show off why they are called Suparburoot Chutathep (Gentleman of Jutathep)
Chai Lek had always been flirty, outgoing, and strong, who gained attention but in this refuge village, he got beatings from Soifah who is strong enough to take him down in combat. Nobody had treated him like that before. he falls for her strength, skills, nature, and her patriotism. Eventually helping her to return back to her country and find the lost family. There are many subplots as during refuge many of the family had been divided and lost so its important to not miss any character back story.
There is also a secondary couple Chantha and Chadchavee, who have a growing healthy relationship which is also the main part of the story.
Chai Ronapee, couldn’t help but notice that he seems more serious than before. Feels like he got some pressure on his shoulder and isn't playful anymore.
I hated the grandmother when tried to break off the couple by bringing Sininoot and making her compete to Soifah. I also hated Sininoot's mother, she was a crazy loud lady. Whenever she shouted felt like my ears are bleeding.
●ACTING/CAST
Bomb Tanin as Khun Chai Rachanon or Khun Chai Lek fit perfectly to this role with the tall and strong body but unable to stop the overbearing FL. His face lights up with a smile whenever he sees Soifah.
Taew Nataporn as Soifah is a strong patriotic girl who would die for her family and nation. This character is one of my favorites with the strong female lead who doesn't give up in any situation. Taew played this amazingly well especially er accent sounded so sweet. Even though I watched it with subs and couldn’t differentiate the language she was simply marvelous. Her getup and no makeup face added more to the portrayal of the character.
they both made a very cute couple with their bickering chemistry
●MUSIC
The OST is the same but the music is from Flute, keyboard, and drums with a full male version. It is sober and worth hearing. BGM has Intense music to always be there to elevate the tension sequence.
●REWATCH
Yes, I will watch his series again for its FL supremacy story. But let me go to finish the last series.
●APPRECIATION
The prophecy regarding the Wieng Pukam is quite poetic and well weaved. I didn’t understand it and couldn’t comprehend its meaning, but it's explained thoroughly in the later episodes.
The forest's natural beauty is captured scenically. Also, pigeon messenger, this detailing is excellent showing the 50s 60s generation.
●CRITICISM
I still can't get how Taewprom family is hell-bent on tying the marital knot by picking out cousins from the clan.
●FAV SCENE
SoiFah introduction with grandmothers.
Sininoot forest adventure although annoying but fun.
●RECOMMENDATION
You like strong FL stories with girls doing the action you can watch this series Rachanon
●AFTERTHOUGHT
There is gonna be a lot of pressure on the last series I hope it would be as good as the fourth one or say better than the fourth.
