The Journey of a Slave’s Child to Finding his Worth & His Freedom
Before I begin, this drama is about a slave's path to freedom and achieving his dreams. The story centres around that. Not the romance. It is not a romance heavy drama. So if you are someone who can not watch a drama that's not romance first and everything else second then this will not be a drama you will find interesting.I personally enjoyed it a lot (as you can see by the rating). Although the quality of the video available was low, I could see how well each scene was shot, and how aesthetically pleasing the director kept the shots.
The actors all did a wonderful job. There was not one actor who did badly in my humble opinion. Moreover, the characters that were in this drama were mostly (aside from the villain) all grey characters. They did selfless, pure things and they also made mistakes like normal humans do.
This is something that is not seen often in dramas. If a person is good, they are a whole saint. If a person is bad, there is not a single attribute about their personality that is pleasant. In this drama, however, the good guys made human mistakes and the bad guys (well...) also had time to show that they have good parts too or their actions could be rationalised.
The plot of the drama was very well done too. While it did keep some things that have already been seen before — however, the screenwriters and director did a wonderful job not keeping those feeling repetitive or boring. I enjoyed the plot so much!
I will list down things that one might not be able to enjoy:
- lack of physical contact between leads.
- The CGI and green screen work was sometimes very off. I could totally tell they had green screen behind them.
- Some characters didn’t have to die.
Overall, I enjoyed this drama. I’m really impressed.
