I'm surprised nobody has reviewed this lakorn yet! The plot summary drew me in, but its really the lead couple who shines here. They really had chemistry together and their characters were great as well. Out of the few lakorns I've seen, Mattana has been my fave female lead by far. I was worried in the beginning she was just going to be a spoiled brat, thankfully she wasn't. I loved how active she was, willing to save herself, but also put her life on the line to help those she believes in. She had just as much to do as Kamin, which was a nice change as many action lakorns that i've seen usually has the lead girl stay out of the action (unless she's getting saved, lol). Kamin was great as well, of course. Him being so dedicated to Raya and duty-bound to the Royal Family made the angst when he starts having feelings for Mattana so good! Plus he looks really fine here...Other side characters were interesting too. I really felt for Haruethai and her evolution throughout the show was great. Some characters weren't so great tho. The Prince was just completely inconsistent, I can't believe anyone thinks he would make a good ruler (ugh, gross, Really show? Really?!!) and a lot of the villains motivations (not to mention plans) were weak and repetitive. I think the show was strongest sometime around the middle episodes, unfortunately some tension was lost towards the end with a ridiculously cliched 'injury' plotline that I won't mention in case of spoilers.
For the most part I really enjoyed the music. Nittra/Sweet Dreams was beautiful and haunting, it really fit the scenes it was played it in. Production values were good as well and I really liked some of the costumes.
So overall I'd say the setup is great, writing could have been much tighter and they really could have done so much more with the story. Lead couple is great together and as separate individuals, completely worth watching (but just fast forward through some of the boring side parts, lol).

My first time EVER disliking a "good" guy in a lakorn
I find this is one of those rare cases where a drama is actually a little too highly rated here on MDL. Usually, (imho) dramas are rated lower than what they deserve, but not so in this case.First thing. What I liked. I love the actors. Fabulous acting. Great Chemistry. Real kisses sprinkled throughout. A good story base... everything needed for a great story/lakorn, right? Well....
Things went south rather quickly for me. First. This show did NOT have the story/plot structure to carry TWENTY looooong episodes. Honestly, I was well over the redundant plot by episode TEN. Ouch.
Besides the overdone plot that truly went no where and just pittered along but could have been wrapped up in 10 episodes easily... the villains. There were a LOT of them. & They were ridiculous and had superficial "reasons" for going to the dark side. Everyone was a villain. A handful of people were "too good". The stark contrast between characters was overwhelming.

Next... & I really hate hate hate that this is the case, BUT... the ML. He was awesome for about 1/3 of the show. The next 3/4 he was kind of an ass. He lied. He manipulated. He hurt the FL emotionally over and over and over again pushing her towards the SML all for his selfish desire to "help his country". Even knowing what kind of a guy the SML was. What was worse... if that by the VERY last 20 minutes of the show he is STILL putting his "duty" to the country over the FL's feelings even though they had been married for several years. He is still disregarding her, her feelings, and their relationship in favor of "his work", basically staying true to what the FL believes (and she has a valid reason for doing so) that he still sees her as kind of in the way and troublesome if he shares everything with her. Even their intimacy. is taking a hit because he nearly falls asleep instantly due to exhaustion. He's also still lying to the FL in the last 10 minutes of the show because he "knows how she'll act" and is sure she'd cause him trouble if she was aware of his job issues. UGH. Not something a great relationship is built on, huh?
To add insult to injury... all that time the FL keeps helping him, loving him, forgiving him nearly instantly. To be honest, I wish that final scene did not play out that way. There's NO way he learned anything important that easily. He needed to feel the sting of possible loss to make him wake up to what he was doing wrong. He didn't. & their relationship would still have major issues.
By the end of the lakorn... I disliked the ML. My first time EVER disliking a "good" guy in a lakorn. No raping. No abuse. No slap-kiss... and yet, I somehow found him a wee bit more dislikable than an antihero who at least learns a hard lesson by the end of their journey. BOTH leads in this show did NOT go through any kind of self-journey. ONLY the SML did. UGH.
I guess that's my main gripe with this lakorn... ALL that they went through in those ridiculous amount of episodes, and the leads never had any REAL self development. The ML never had a "ah crap, I did wrong" moment. No moment of fear of what he may stand to LOSE. Not once.
Everything that happened to him and he never changed even a little bit? Really? MEH.

Ok before I start this, I wanna say that the drama wasn't that bad. Ive seen way worse and honestly I watched the whole thing and I never stopped. However I skipped...
Now spoiler alert is in order.
The beginning of this drama was cute, funny and great. The slowly fell in love and the chemistry was on point. And i love the male actor.
I loved him and his sense of responsibility.
After about 10 episodes, I started to dislike him and his character. He continued to lead her on with knowing that she loves him without ever telling her that he lover her. She kept chasing him and asking to be together and fight together. So cute. An first he agrees but then he marries someone else to protect the prince ( who is just so annoying .. honestly he should buy himself a brain ). He then lies to her that he got this girl pregnant and has been dating her for years. She is devastated and cries. Then after everything she is still chasing him and yes he goes to safe her but only after he saved his country. He btw took care of him always and he always left her. EVERY TIME. And he never apologized. This guy lied to our female lead more times than i can count. And even after they get married in the end he still ignores her and takes work more seriously. Honestly i wish her a divorce and a guy who really loves her, because he doesn't.
In total the story was good, gripping , a little repetitive and the whole thing of "oh you tried to kill me multiple times ... AH lets forget about ,its ok" that happened so many times. Its honestly weird.
If you are really bored and you are not really looking for a gem. You can watch this. They are worse but it could have been so much better.

Hidden Gem
I almost didn't watch this because of some of the reviews, but gave this a shot, and found myself highly entertained by this series. I REALLY have to like a FL in order to watch, and I LOVED the FL in this. She's tough and flirtatious and funny. The ML has a different personality than most ML's I've watched. He's not one dimensional so sometimes I had to guess on what he was thinking. He even had me wondering how much he loved the FL up until the very end.The chemistry between the leads is spot on, and I enjoyed the real kisses between them. I would recommend this series for the lead couple alone.

I am not watching thai drama but tis lakorn teach me to watch thai drama than kdram and taiwan ...
The story was great its all about sacrifice and love for their loves once and for the country.Even they betray their love once in they end they still care and proctect theme. The cast are awesome especially Kamin who sacrifice his love just to serve his country and the Royal family, He care for his country even in death and he protcet the women she love and for Mattana even she is spoiled brat but in a good way she know what she wants .Mattana is very brave lady she fight for her love but still she considered the consequence on her action what will be effect on her love once and her country. She sacrifice her love to proctect the man she love and for her family.I love to watch korean drama but when i watched this lakorn whoa i got addicted to it.Even this is 2014 lakorn i enjoyed watching it . Hope more Lakorn for this two main cast ( Min and Weir).

I started it off and admittedly I almost dropped it because I couldn't stand the female lead. She just seemed too bratty at the beginning but thankfully I stuck it out and she became a favourite of mine after the first few episodes. She attacks everything with vigour that is rarely seen in dramaland, especially lakorns.
Weir was great in his role (however I may be biased, because I'm a fan of him). If you like shirtless eye candy, then he meets all of your needs :D But seriously, he did a solid job of portraying his role. Nothing too special, but definitely not lacking in any way.
There was some nice side character development from Haruethai. But I could not forgive the way that they dealt with the princes character. I just... no. It was annoying to see how it ended. And Mintras character just descended into chaos by the end. I thought that they could have given her so much more depth as a character but she just became too much.
Music was nice. The OST that Weir sung gave such a hauntingly beautiful feel over the scenes. One of my favouties for sure.
All in all, a kind of predictable storyline with a lot of the common cliches but solid male lead and outstanding female lead. A nice serious lakorn without the slap/kiss between the leads (it gets a bit close with side characters but definitely not romanticized thankfully).
