The new characters this season aren't as interesting as those in prior seasons either.

Not as good as the first 2 seasons but still a nice watch
Loved Season 1. Liked Season 2. The stories in season 3 seemed less impactful, overall. There were some that felt like "filler" compared to the previous 2 seasons, but the food is still awesome. Three episodes standouts - the first one with the retired widowed singer, the second featuring Marilyn's and her mom, and finally, the Yakuza and his life changing teacher story was the best. Loved those. But the others weren't up to the same standard.Even if it's not as good as the first 2 seasons, it's still a lot better than most stuff out there. They did wrap up everything nicely by doing a season 3 recap on the New Year episode. Just to remind us of the more impactful moments. Also the Netflix version teased a Midnight Diner movie! Which is NOT available on Netflix so now I am going to have to look for it.

Once I began watching this series, I realized how many of my favorite actors and actresses were in the entire series, which made me even more excited to continue watching! Though, I have to say that I honestly did want to watch this because I had just finished "River’s Edge Okawabata Tanteisha" and I wanted to watch more Odagiri Joe, this show definitely did not disappoint in any way, shape, or form! Each story had such a unique yet relatable humanity to it that I was mesmerized the entire time!

This is what I think of the parts.. seasons they've had of this show.
I can't even count how many times I've watched this entire series on Netflix.I loved the stories in each one. Each one had me engaged in what was going on in the stories.
Loved seeing the regular customers coming in and eating and talking.
My only complaint is that I guess there won't be any more seasons of it.
