One of Hyun Bin's finest performance of his career.

Have you ever watch a show that is good but you are puzzled why it is not more popular? Have you watched a show that you literally want to share it with everyone else because how it affect you emotionally? Have you watched a show that you find it hard to finish each episode because you keep rewinding your favourite scenes over and over again? Have you watch a show that you can literally start again just after you finished it? And have you watch a show where it satisfy you through and through? This is Hyde, Jekyll, Me means to me. I wanted to rate it 8 (due to some of the drama's imperfectness) but the show seriously connect to me on spiritual level (lol) so it deserved an 8.5. I literally cried the whole last 2 episodes since its really too sad for me. I cant believe how good and addicting is the drama. It had interesting plot with brilliant ending and I like how everything come like a perfect puzzle at the end. Great character developments and the twists was revealed in a nice and smooth way.

Hyun Bin is really great as both Seo Jin & Robin. I'm surprised to read that some people thought playing 2 characters are too much for him. Both Seo Jin & Robin are literally two very different person in mannerism, tone, vibe and speech pattern -- it seemed like it is played by 2 different actors -- thats how good he is. I thought he did an outstanding job when he had to act as one personality trying to pretend to be the other. You can see how the other personality is struggling and Hyun Bin did it with you knowing exactly that. Only great actor can do such a thing and Hyun Bin did exceptionally well here. Robin had me at hello so he will always be special in my heart (yes, he's my soulmate lol!) while Seo Jin's arrogant and cold personality to coat his vulnerable side made him so attractive. Han Ji Min is really lovely as Hana and imo they did everything right with her character and it made sense why both Seo Jin & Robin falls in love with her.

Now regarding the issue that many people has problem with this drama. I personally thought many people seemed to misunderstand the message that the writer trying to tell us. BOTH SEO JIN & ROBIN IS THE SAME PERSON. Hana didnt settle for Jekyll because Hyde and Jekyll happen to be the same person. The writer keep highlighting in the ending note in each episode on how the two of them will become one;

'The silent moment when I become you, and you become me.'
'The more I keep trying, the more 'me' I end up discovering.'
'Somehow, you and I have become us.'

Even Seo Jin realised that Robin is after all him when he saved Hana at the warehouse. Usually, all DID related movies/dramas just removing/letting go all the different personalities at the end and but this one it combined them together because they are the same person. Seo Jin created Robin as a defense mechanism to cope with his self-blame and cowardice. And for years, he hated and wanted to destroy Robin. But it later changed when he realised that Robin is after all him. Aside from getting Robin memories one by one, Seo Jin's mannerism changed and he become happier and gentler just like Robin as he is receiving his feelings as well. Robin is just like a dream that he cant remember. And Hana is the cure of that when she made him remember all those dream when he was Robin (like he told her in the end).

The dissatisfaction that many people have towards the different treatment between Seo Jin and Robin should not exist as they are one person at the end. The way to see this drama is that you should not be jealous of one part of yourself as you are the same person. That is what Seo Jin decided to do at the end. He accepted Robin as he knew Robin is after all him -- you can see that Seo Jin no longer sabotaged Robin & Hana's relationship because he knew that Robin is him. Memories are what makes a person. Without memories, a person will be empty. Seo Jin having all Robin's memories and feelings (note how he even tear up suddenly at the bridge) at the end indicates that he is after all Robin. Robin is Seo Jin and Seo Jin is Robin. They are the same person.

Now regarding the criticisms that Hana is getting from many viewer, Hana has always like Seo Jin -- she will never go that length to protect him just out of pure compassion and she definitely didn't settle for Seo Jin because Robin is gone. Like Seo Jin said, she is in love with Robin but she also love him as well which she didnt deny. The writer go through a great length to prove that Hana is also attracted to Seo Jin so I really wonder why many people seemed to missed that part. I find it absolutely ridiculous how people said she is greedy and selfish. She is actually the opposite of that and she handle the 2 personalities with such class and kindness. How is she undeserving of Seo Jin when she practically protect him since they are kids (heck, she watched over him for 1 whole year afraid that he might commit suicide), she risk her life to save him plenty of times, she overcome her fears to help Seo Jin find Dr. Kang, she suffers multiply abusive words from him, she cares for him when he's sick, she cooked for him, she stopped Robin from going public, she stopped Seo Jin from destroying his life, she's mad at him for deciding not to cure his illness and the list go on. I mean, she literally the person that cure his DID -- the one that made him realise that he and Robin is one person. Yet, she get all of this shit just because he happen to fall in love with the good guy (first time in Kdramas that a girl actually fall for the nice guy). I find it absolutely ridiculous that some viewers mad at her for being a loyal and kind just because she didnt happen to fall head over hills with the main guy. However, despite she is in love with the other personality, not even once she allowed Robin to compromise Seo Jin's life and position knowing Seo Jin is the main personality. And the writer cant make her having a relationship with both Robin & Seo Jin because that will make her a player. And she only decided to love Seo Jin in the end because she realised that Robin & Seo Jin is the same person. She didnt know that they started to become one after the warehouse incident and she only know it when Seo Jin told her that he has all Robin's memories. For Seo Jin to have Robin's memories, talents as well as feelings (as Seo Jin even feels what Robin is feeling -- his love, fears & sadness), it means that he is Robin as well. She loves both of them. And at the end, she got the best of both world when they merge to become one person. The writer was very adamant in letting us know this so I really wonder why many people seemed to missed that.

I know the drama is not perfect but it certainly didnt deserve all the hate that it is getting. I'm glad that I give this drama a try without reading any reviews. It makes me able to appreciate the drama as it is. Hyun Bin is definitely fantastic in here and it sadden me that he never properly rewarded for his performance in this drama.

Despite all of these negative reviews, I didn't think it was that bad.

Story: It wasn't even that bad like seriously.. The story was actually different and it kept me interested.. well, ok, tbh I did skip like a bunch of parts and fast forwarded through most of it but hey it wasn't that bad lol. Just skip the unnecessary parts like with Hana and her friends or Hyeri daydreaming or the beginning circus part (that was kinda weird). It got me searching up DID though.. gee. This drama was good though and the ending wasn't a stupid one either which probably made me give it 1 point higher haha. I absolutely hate korean dramas with useless endings so this one didn't disappoint me.

Acting/Cast: Why are people complaining of Han Ji Min's acting? I thought it wasn't that bad tbh. I've seen worse. Dr. Yoon was a really good actor and Hyun Bin was good too. Hyeri was also really good too. I didn't think Robin's character was THAT exaggerated but maybe it was the director who wanted Robin like that?

Music: I don't think anything stood out to me except for Falling in Love..

Rewatch Value: idk maybe??? most likely not tho

Overall: It was quite different and interesting to watch. I think it's worth a try/shot to check this one out.

Honestly, I don't think this show deserved as much hate as it has received on here. I've been on a Hyun Bin run the last few weeks, and was reluctant to watch this because of all the bad reviews. I was expecting a total disaster that I was going to give up on in the first few episodes. But as I watched I kept waiting for it to take a nose-dive and it didn't ever really do that. That being said, just because it didn't fall to low expectations, it didn't rise up and "wow" me either.

Now, Hyun Bin's acting, as I've discovered is very good. He plays double roles very well, making it believable he is different characters. He did basically the same in Secret Garden. (I really wish he'd choose some better roles so I can see him in something worthy of his skills.) This was the first real role I've seen Han Ji Min in (other than her Jealousy Incarnate cameo), and she did an okay job. There was something I liked about her.. Sung Joon can be hit or miss for me, but I actually liked him in this even though the character could have been scripted better. Hye Ri was cute, but fairly unnecessary in this show.

My main gripe with this story was the amount of time that Hyun Bin spent as Robin compared to his time as Seo Jin. Yes, Robin was heroic and happy and nice, while Seo Jin was...well his polar opposite. Yes, they are both different sides of the same person, even if Hyun Bin did an amazing job at making you feel like they were two separate men, not sharing one body. I would have liked to have had more time with Seo Jin and Ha Na interacting and getting to the bottom of his illness. I felt really sorry for Seo Jin and how he was treated compared to Robin. I did like the way that Ha Na's interaction with them "both" helped Seo Jin through his past and work through Robin to heal him. I just wish I had gotten to see more of his change through HIS eyes, and also that they had resolved the problem of Robin earlier in order that Ha Na and Seo Jin AS Seo Jin could have had more screen time together getting closer. And maybe that's the crux of what didn't work for a lot of people. Even though Seo Jin and Robin were the same man, it would have been nice to have seen more of the REAL man, Seo Jin as opposed to his alter, Robin - who was just a "symptom" of his DID.

The music was fairly good, enjoyable and appropriate.

I don't see me watching this again, but it really wasn't as horrible as so many reviewers make it out to be. There just wasn't enough of what I wanted to see...it was crammed in at the very last few minutes so I felt a bit cheated somehow (even though they were the same person).

This is my first review so I'll do my best!!

This drama really broke my heart and then repaired it agan. I have a really hard time relating to other people's feelings but I really find this drama so good since you get really involved in the male lead's situation and emotion. It took me a while to finish it since i watched multiple dramas at the same time but the time was really worth it.

I think you get a really good insight in their lives and how difficult it can be living with a mental disorder that might not be able to cure.

The reason I set 6,5 on the music is because it's like 2 songs playing over and over but different parts of them.

It took me a long time explaining the story to my psychology interested friend and only by retelling the story she got very moved so the plot is very powerful and really moving. I recommend this drama to everyone who's looking for sad stories with a lot of emotions and a touching love story.

ok for one time watch..

OK, I enjoyed it even though the story was written really badly... The cast were good enough to keep me hooked, even though there were many parts that had me rolling my eyes, or saying "seriously?"
I feel like this had the potential of being a really amazing drama, the main plot had so much potential, but every now and then I would get disappointed.. Also, the way they portrayed his illness was very unrealistic, especially the ending..
Anyway, it's still interesting enough to make you watch it till the end.. Just be prepared for some ridiculous plot holes and disappointments..
This drama was released right after "Kill me Heal me" which is also about multiple personalities.. and to be honest, the story is incomparable to KMHM even though they are both unrealistic portrayals of the illness. They both had a different twist and used the illness creatively.. But I found this drama to be sadly disappointing in many aspects.

I am really confused why some people don’t like this. It’s a beautiful haunting tale of love, but a rather complex situation. The heroine is strong, gentle, loving and beautiful. The hero suffers from DID. One personality is repressed and the other is warm and friendly. The relationship between the three is riveting.

The supporting characters were great. The villain had layers and did a great job of portraying the complexity of childhood trauma.

Maybe not for everyone but I loved it. Hyun Bin and Han Jimin did an amazing job. In partucular, this is probably the first time I have seen a double role where I have actually forgotten that the same actor is playing both roles. The personalities are so distinctly acted out. Great job by the actor. And the final merging was terribly sad. Even though it is an illness, one almost wanted them both to live

MPD is confusing already but the ending left me more confused.

Multiple Personality Disorder is really a confusing matter. Aside from this, this show also added some emotional/romantic entanglement. Which left me more confused on how I felt about the ending.

The actors did good with their characters. ML and his alter ego both has something good in them. They're not perfect but they're not irredeemable.

The plot of the story ain't boring. It gave the viewers not only RomCom but also a good mystery to solve. Good OST too.

It had a good run for me. What I don't like is how the ending felt rushed. Sure ML and his alter egos character reconcile which is all good. He's no longer burdened by his childhood trauma. But with this reconciliation of his personas, does that mean the FL just went with it. Now she's suddenly accepting the ML's love just like that. The love that she denied over and over again, the love that she thrown on ML's face over and over again. She was never confused, she was always firmed with her love for ML's alter ego. So, what changed? Anyway, they still had a happy ending.

Would I ever rewatch this? Maybe, not ever though..

Good thing i did not listen nor got affected by the reviews... For me Hyde, Jekyll, Me is worth watching. True there are some scenes that need a little tweaking, but over all i still give it a 10.

Ever since i started watching kdramas i learned and understand how each script and scenes are brought to life by the actors and creative staffs. being in the same industry, i applaud how each Kdramas are shown. i hope in my country they do the same.

Like in most scripts, everything start similar to a roller coaster. Starts with a launch to an uphill to gain momentum and use of gravity to propel the ride... i admit some kdramas and even in my country fails to have the desired expectations but you will still surely have an interesting ride.

"Hyde, Jekyll, Me" for me started a little off from the very start more like a "whats that moment" (Watch it and you'll know what i mean), for me they could have used a more realistic approach during the first 10 mins of the scene, but after that, its a complete 360, started to get the worthy footing till the end.

but like what i said there are still some scenes that needs tweaking but i guess im just too meticulous every time i watch anything thats why even the smallest details i find fault in it.

but never the less, "Hyde, Jekyll, Me" is not just about having multiple personality, for me i learned that having one is not a bad idea, "Hyde, Jekyll, Me" showed the other side of this illness a different light, and maybe that is the reason why some viewers can not fathom that this might happen.

TIP: i watch Kdramas from beginning to end from 1 episode to the next. this way i never lose the momentum. i know not everyone have the luxury to do it but this works for me.

Rewatch Value is 0 because once was enough.
Story Value is 2 after all it's a drama with Binny.

First of all, many of us had to wait until the end to write a review not because we hoped the drama would improve, but because of the rules. Basically this drama was a mess and made me cringe from the very first back flip/somersault of Robin, to Ha Na’s bland, boring character that instead of carrying a bottle of water and a book in her backpack…she carried a rope.

I understand sometimes is difficult for the writing to understand where to go with the story, but given the storyline with DID, and Hyun Bin as the main lead I believed this drama had great potential. In this case the writers gave up after offering us on a plate a “dancing Gorilla”. Yes, I haven’t forgotten about THAT! I think from there they realized there was not more face to lose. And yet. The acting was bad, from Ha Jin Min emotionless face and bland personality, and her overuse “he he” guttural sound kind of laugh to Hyun Bin’s bad acting. He really couldn’t handle the two personalities, and maybe this project was too much for him to handle after the almost 2 years absence from acting. Probably if he was offered this role soon after Secret Garden we would have now a different result.

Normally when I watch a drama I start to care for the characters, in this case I didn’t. All the main characters were selfish and scheming, and they lack common sense even in their scheming.

I’ll summarize like this.
The way hypnosis was used is laughable.
The way the police force was used is laughable.
The actors did not buy the characters.
The audience did not buy the actors.
The script was bad, and the actors were not able to overcome the lack of good dialogues, with their acting abilities.
The music (which I believe is nice) was used to create emotions, but made the scenes even more bland and shallow.
I will not recommend you to watch this drama, especially if you are a fan of Hyun Bin and Han Jin Min, if you do you might be disappointed.

I could describe this drama by one word - Disappointment. I am a huuuuuuuuge fan of Hyun Bin and I have anticipated this drama since it was announced that Hyun Bin will star in this drama. But I probably wasted my time...

STORY - 5/10
The drama itself was so dull. I quite liked it in the beginning, because I though it is just slow in the beginning and then it will evolve into a fast-paced drama...haha...I was so mistaken. It was slow the whole time. There was only one exciting moment during the whole drama - and that was the ending of episode 8. I though that from that point the drama will get better, but it didn't...From episode 12, I was just fast forwarding the episodes, even the final one...The story was simply not captivating - the scriptwriters did such a terrible job, seriously. This drama was way to similar to My Lovable Girl on this point...

I quite liked the directing and the colours the drama was edited in but that was probably all.

ACTING/CAST - 6/10
As for Acting, my mark is quite generous, and that is because of my love for Hyun Bin. This drama was totally without chemistry. I did not care for a single character. Simply horrible...

Hyun Bin is definitely not the best actor, but he is a decent actor. I always care for his characters. And the chemistry between him and other actors is always good. But not this time...Well, I could blame it on scriptwriting, but the problem doesn't lie only there...Well, hopefully, he will choose a better project next time :)

As for Han Ji Min...she is a botox face...She looked so unnatural in this drama and the acting was horrible. I could not feel any emotions from her. I quite liked her in Padam, Padam and I thought that after so many years, her acting might have improved, however, I was mistaken again. So she is totally 'that's no-no' to me now. She is just a botox face, which I can't even call an actress.

As for Sung Joon, I have never thought of him as a good actor. And he didn't prove me wrong. His acting in the beginning was so bad that I was asking myself, why did they cast him. Then his acting improved a bit, but not drastically improved.

MUSIC - 7/10
The music was OK. Baek Ji Young's song is really catchy, but doesn't really fit well with the drama. As for the other OST songs, they were nothing special. My mark is quite high because of the instrumental OST. That was quite good.

OVERALL - 6.5
My overall mark is quite high. It is high because of Hyun Bin. If there was another male lead, my mark would be even lower and actually, I would have never finished the drama. I just hope, that next time, he will choose a better drama and with a better female lead.

First and foremost, I am a fan of the leads Hyun Bin and Han Ji Min so my review might seem a bit bias.
I enjoyed watching the drama week to week and even re watched some of the episodes. There were great elements to the drama and bad but the overall outcome was worth watching.
~The story was good but lacked some depth for a melodrama, the problem was not only the writing but the editing. There were many scenes that seemed choppy, and I would end up confused. Also, some aspects of the story should have been cut to make room for other story lines. That would make the drama more enjoyable.
~Acting and Casting was great for the most part; the bad guy was believable, the love story was believable and the character growth was also believable.
~I am a big time music buff, so if an OST is good then i give extra points to a drama/movie. Even thought i didnt care for one song in this drama i did enjoy the music, instrumentals and all.
~I did re watch some episodes while it was airing but i'm not inclined to re watch the drama over again. Maybe episodes 4-9 for romance feels, and a few of the last episodes..or.. if i get in the mood for Hyun Bin TLC.
Overall I enjoyed it but it wasn't a favorite or a recommendation type drama.

I have watched the entire series when it was an on-going to be honest it was such a pain because the suspension they put at the end of every single episode of the week was literrallliterally extreme everything looked really unpredictable, I was scared for the spoilers so I had to watch it as soon as it was realised
The story was great
- I LOVED A LOT THE BACKGROUND MUSIC THE PUT IT WAS AWESOME
the acting was perfect
The romance well to be honest the female lead wasn't that much of my liking but I still watched it because it didn't affected at all the chemistry of the couple, Yeah I found her really irritating but we all know that a drama can't be perfect in every aspect
I was really afraid of the ending but it meet my expectations
I ended to give the full marks because I really liked everything of this series it never bores me
