This condensed version of the series fills in extra screen time, replacing the child actors with the adult leads during the college years. Zhao Mo Sheng, a bright and optimistic university student, falls for He Yi Chen, a top Law student. However, his poor communication skills lead her to leave for overseas. Seven years later, she returns home and unexpectedly spots him in a crowded supermarket. Can the two former college sweethearts reunite after all these years? Too packed
Director's cut does not do the actual drama any justice. It's too short and everything is compacted. Things are here and there. You likely won't get what's going on. This storyline requires time to develop so if you want the actual experience, watch the actual 32 episodes. Actors were okay. Music is okay too. Not exceptional. I personally feel that there's not much feelings in this Director's Cut since it was not the full thing. But actually if you want to know whether the 32 episodes are worth watching, you can try watching this before deciding. That worked for me. The couple dynamics were in a way, weirder in the drama than in this cut.Was this review helpful to you?
...intresting
i watched the movie and even though it was a little weird and somewhat questioning, i thought the story line was intresting enough that when i found out the had a show i wanted to watch the whole thing (hoping some of the questions that weren't really questions will be explained). It however is very long so when i saw this shortened version i was very happy.surprised to say that the movie answered more questions for me than this, but this gave me more closure. i really like it when shows show the happy ending like extra. what i mean by that is that they gave extra "unessecary scenes" showing the people happy and just living life. However even with the longer run time, the plot i felt was not as explained.. sorry if im coparing to the movie but ive never watched the full show which this came from so it's probably explained there but i felt that if it can be fit into the movie it would be fit here too. (spoilers each on excatly what i mean will be below).
with that aside i liked how since its a crammed version the problems were resolved very quickly without any time for me to grow agitated and or frustrated, so if you like that then recomend. honestly i recomend, its short only 4 ep and intresting-ish story line. Im not sure how similar or how explained the show is but when i was reading reviews and comments people loveeddd the show n like loved it explaining how there were no uncessecary scenes or plot lines. so maybe watch that if you have more time and want to know abt it better. I honeslty am quite happy with these shorter cut and movie i thougth it was sufficent. i also think it was a book, so if u read it maybe ud also like this version. dont get me wrong with the 7.5 (in my book thats not a bad rating, its just that compared to how i rate other things 7 is like i enjoy watching but not like smth i would think at the top of my head to recoment to someone else, n this is not 7 but 7.5 so better).
acting i thought it was.... well i did not appreciate the wigs, thats for sure. it seemed like the ppl can act as the college flashbacks really showed a different side of them, maybe i just didnt really like the portrayal of the fl.
the music i payed abs no attention to
if anyone can tell me if its even the same for these things:
- in movie explained more about the child they adopted and why and how they (the guy she married in us) met n honestly kinda cute. (also kinda nice how in the movie it showed her rejecting him when she was still in US.)
- not explained to the extent of her life in the US and how she was broke etc.(not really otehr than she worked as a waitresss)
- the thing with the family drama or her parents may or may not what lead his dad to suicide.
- also this goes for both but i get how he can be dissapointed in her and angry but u can't go as far as to say that she was the soul fault, cause even if in the movie he was approached by the dad, why u gotta say that to her. if i was her n did not have strong like sense of self i can understand her hurt n leaving. y is it her job to clarify with u. at least in the movie like it wasn't only that but the family drama thing. I also liked it better in the movie that when they had this fight it was also after she had doubts abt the step sister relationship. (it made it seem more reasonable a reason for her to leave as it was just so much things going on between, "misunderstandings," or things that they just didnt talk thorugh. (like it was a problems in general)
