EXO Next Door Episode 1 Reactions
Ji Yeonhee is a 23-year-old EXO-L who has never had a boyfriend and is excited at the prospect of having a group of good-looking men moving in next door to her. However, she has a large shock coming, when EXO - her favourite K-Pop group - are the ones to move in next door to her.
Truth be told, this is a total cringe fest at first. There was a lot that made me wince at the screen, including some of the editing (Yeonhee running away at the start of the episode, along with the whole start of the episode), but once you get past the cringe side of the episode, it becomes quite enjoyable. Although there are the odd moments where I can't help but roll my eyes at the screen, this is enjoyable.
Seeing EXO as they are, acting, but also being themselves on screen and obviously having fun whilst filming it is definitely enough for me to continue this drama and to enjoy it fully. Moon Gayoung does an amazing job as Ji Yeonhee and is hilarious to see on screen, and she does a really good job of being a young adult tired of her mother and being yelled at and does a really good job of being a fangirl on screen. I can easily believe Yeonhee is just another EXO-L like myself, and the fact her character is so believable and relatable makes this so much more enjoyable.
Although EXO only have a small portion of screen time in this episode, I'm definitely excited to see where EXO Next Door is going to go and what route the storyline is going to take - and the all-important question - who is Yeonhee's bias and who is she going to choose as a boyfriend (or so I assume from romance tags on the show).
As long as you're able to get past the cringes at the start of this episode, I recommend this for sure. This is a wonderful show for any EXO-L to watch, seeing our boys in a more professional way but also being themselves, and Moon Gayoung really brings the other portion of this series to light. It's definitely enjoyable and a laugh for sure.

Acting wise, they actually have good lead who plays her part rather well.
Though I find the story line not that believable just because who has the audacity to eat someone else's food when you don’t know them. Also the fact that she turns into a rock when around cute boys, but she's willing to stay longer than she needs to? That part is slightly unbelievable. Though of course this wasn’t meant to be a serious comedy, I just am not a fan of plot holes.
Overall, I think the acting is going to surprise me. But I have no expectations at this point.
