Good Storyline
Overall story line good. Started off a bit slow but later episodes were better. Typical rich family drama. I did not like the FL and ML together. Would have been much better if one of them was with a different actor. Felt FL wasn’t cast right for this show. A few episodes were emotional. First time I watched an episode with the ML. I felt he was almost a bit too old for FL. Supporting cast was ok, nothing great. Did not care for the hyung of ML. Too much of a whiner. Give it a try. You may like it!Was this review helpful to you?
Don't watch in public (but do watch it!)
I often watch Kdramas on my commute. This drama is one I recommend you watch in a comfortable place, with easy access to tissues, as it gets quite emotional and will most likely tug hard at your heart strings.Don't be fooled with the "chaebol cold guy, sympathetic poor girl" synopsis, as this story is so much more than that. Or, should I say - it adds a whole new layer to this kind of plot. You still have the typical characters of controling parent, love rival and so, and although kind of cliché, it adds to the main story revolving around the FL and ML.
Main reason to watch is the performances of the two main leads.
Especially the FL does an exceptional job I think, in portraying and displaying all kinds of emotions; despair, wishfullnes, disbelief, resolutness, love ...
ML is also delivering a strong performance. I like this character's development, and also how he handles it; we can see the changes he goes through in his expressions and body language.
To be honest I don't really remember the soundtrack. It kind of makes sense the music took a backseat in this, but at the same time I have watched other series where the soundtrack still can evoke emotions, so they might have missed an opportunity here as well.
When I had watched around half of the episodes I ended up binging the rest, as I wanted to finish it before my vacation was over.

I can't re-watch this because of the heavy plot. It makes my heart heavy. But overall, this drama nailed it.

A melo that is a bit meh
Took me a really long time to write this review because I have been contemplating whether I liked it or not and my conclusion is that its meh.I can totally see why this drama commands top marks . Its a super mature watch . It depicts life . It depicts unconditional love and depicts dignified poverty . Its super compelling with beautiful relationships of a familial nature .The two leads were phenomenal .It actually had something to say . I loved all that about it and thats why its gets 7 top marks as a watch.
As for the remaining three marks- the acting and writing had to pull it through over the meh mark to the brilliant mark and unfortunately , it did not have the capacity for that . Certain components of the cast over acted such as the two mature female leads and Ahn Ji Hoon was awful . In fact, what was the point of his character as the distant nephew/son in law in the first place?
Conversations were repetitive and drawn out . Sentiments did not evolve but instead found themselves in predictable and sappy territory. Which was disappointing because this show had portrayed itself as highly mature and clean but that was not the finished product.
Moreover . the pacing was just a bit off . Most things were a slow burn and then all at once all of a sudden .
Overall: Not a bad watch . Not a top tier watch though but it does enough to go the long haul.

Too deep
Despite facing numerous challenges, the female lead endured a series of hardships, including the loss of her husband, being ensnared in debt, and battling a terminal illness. However, amidst the trials, she found solace in fleeting moments of happiness. Although her future remained uncertain, she cherished the small joys that came her way. The actors, both leads and supporting, delivered exceptional performances, enriching the viewing experience. Their portrayal captivated and resonated with the audience, making the drama a compelling watch. Was this review helpful to you?
I really love the child.. she’s so cute and adorable. I think she’s a very talented child actor, and I couldn’t wait to see what she would do next. Main Female and Male lead did a good job portraying their character. All three of them together are very adorable, I wish they have more of it.
The music is totally forgettable. I wouldn’t really rewatch this drama because the plot is just too basic.

Bittersweet as life. Must watch.
I still not sure if I loved it or if it made me miserable. It's as bittersweet as life itself.I cried at every chapter, not just out of sadness but also because it makes me appreciate life. It was my first Uee's drama and I loved her all the way. I didn't watch any Lee Seo Jin dramas before and I loved him too, as well as the rest of the cast.
Without spoiling anything you can expect all the kdramas clichés in here. Acting is what makes this series incredible.
I don't think is a drama to rewatch. I'm 100% sure I don't want to put myself through this again. But I won't forget it.

Sad but moving, great character development
Just finished watching this movie for the second time. I find out certain films just pull me back to wanting to watch them again, and I like this even more on the second viewing.I like the development of the male lead character after he meets the female lead. It’s clear from the early episodes that it’s going to be very sad, but I still enjoyed the manner which the drama moved forward. I also liked many of the secondary characters, although I would’ve liked to have known more about them. Someway I’m not sure why I really like this so much but after first viewing it six or eight months ago, I kept thinking about it and wanted to return to watch it one more time.

beautiful bittersweet drama
This drama was quite the build up to then pull at your heartstrings. it begins with a typical premise interaction between a chaebol and a down on her luck heroine. However, in this case, they really give her a bag of lemons that just won’t make a satisfactory pitcher of lemonade to give her the fairytale ending.Don’t want to spoil too much other than once they get you in the cathartic state of emotional upheaval and the tears start coming down, they do not let up. the light tones they add in between the heavy hearted moments just adds to it (at least for me) and made me bawl all the more.
as I got to the final minutes I was hoping for some crazy deux ex machine moment to save the day but no such luck. It closes with a somewhat open ended ending but you know what is really going to happen and the creative team decided to have some mercy on us and leave it at that.
Anyways, I definitely recommend it if you’re fine with something that isn’t quite light hearted and are ok leaving a little sadder and introspective than when you came.
