City Hunter Episode 1 Reactions
I've got soooo many issues with the writing. This requires more than just turning off your brain. You need to be damn near retarded to ignore the issues:
1) Why kill your soldiers when the submarine is already there to get them? They're soldiers. They'd be court-martialed if they spoke anyway and since they believed in what they were doing they wouldn't have said anything about it if they were ordered to. Soldiers don't speak about their missions anyway. So why not just pick them up and bring them back home like a Black Ops mission. Destroy the evidence and leave it at that.
2) Why in hell did that man steal the woman's baby? Yes, you want to train him to take revenge but do you really think the mother would have been against that? They betrayed her husband too you moron! And it's not like you can train a baby. Just wait until he's older and train him in secret or something! I get that Korean mindset is that women with children are stigmatized but telling her the truth would have given her motivation. Stealing her child and thinking she'd be able to find happiness after that is just fucking moronic!
3) When ML arrives in Seoul his 'father' says to forget his life in America....what? What part of where they were was America? The only place you can find an elephant in America - north or south - is in a zoo! No one spoke spanish, so it's not south America. It's clearly Thailand or thereabouts so why not just say that? Maybe it's a poor translation on dramacool? If not, these people REALLY didn't do their homework.
4) Lastly, "if they find out who you really are those around you will be covered in blood." Why? As far as everyone else knows he's just a baby that was stolen. How in hell would they make the connection that he was there to hunt them down especially when everyone assumes all 21 soldiers were dead. Even the officer who knew he was alive wouldn't think anything of that son being 'found'.
Like, what the hell?I just don't understand how people found this to be great writing. Great directing - yes, all day long - writing? Hell no. I'm gonna need a break before I try starting episode 2.

I didn't quite understand why all the soldiers were shot in the beginning though. I mean why would you shoot your shoulders (even to just silence them) when they're nearly on your submarine. You could just bring them back on board and tell them they can never speak to this ever again.
