an entertaining romp
This one was mostly fun with a few serious moments sprinkled in.I knew I would actually finish the drama when I pretty much fell in love with the secondary characters. Because as much as I like the leads, if they had been the only thing going for this drama, I probably would have dropped it since 16 episodes is longish for me. BUT, because all of the secondary characters were equally as amazing (love that comedy relief!), I kept watching. Love the ghost-hunting pair of crazies. They're just so quirky and fun and absolutely not suited for that type of job. And the monk, oh my goodness, once I got used to him, he became one of my favorite characters.
But in the end, I really kept watching for Kwon Yool's character. Because while he terrified me, at the same time, as more and more of his story unfolded, I prayed for a hopeful resolution for him. I had to know what happened to him in particular, so I kept watching, and I am glad that I did. I felt the most empathy for him, in the entire drama, which probably sounds strange, but is also true.
Now, as for the storyline with the leads, I guessed Hyun Ji's plotline. Not all of the elements tying everyone together, but the rest of her story is not all that original so I knew by the end of episode 2 what she really was. Which is fine, but it does show that while the drama is supremely fun, with all of the side characters and their personalities elevating the story to a bit more of a comedy than horror, the main story is just sort of basic. The leads couldn't have carried this drama alone. Bong Pal, as tsundere characters go, warmed up pretty quickly, but I actually liked him and Hyun Ji more before they started liking each other, if that makes sense. They were more fun when their interactions had a bit more bite.
And for a girl who's a pretty tough ghost, she didn't do a lot of screaming or fighting back in the last 2 episodes. Even just making yourself dead weight, especially knowing your kidnapper needs you, would have made a lot more sense. So parts of the ending particularly frustrated me because an actual persona in real life would have behaved differently if they had actually been kidnapped and knew someone was there to rescue them. And what happened to Hyun Ji's necklace? Because it was never resolved as to whether her mom gave it to her or not.
So while I did enjoy it and have rated it fairly high, there were some storytelling and timing issues that I wish hadn't happened

Bring it on, Ghost!
I was abroad and it was one of view shows I could watch on amazon and I am satisfied that I watched this. It is fun drama with some scenes for crying (well as expected, in the end most korean production - even happy ones - have view sad scenes). Chemistry was cute. First kdrama with Kim So Hyun where I could find out how good she is. Ok Taec Yeon - I watched vincenzo first, I already knew how amazing actor he is but seeing him in this role just proved it. If you like fantasy drama I highly recommend this one.Was this review helpful to you?

Visually impressive show, with some lacklustre episodes
Visually it's great, which really helps to convey the legitimacy of the ghosts. Some are genuinely scary!Story-wise, it's just good, but needed more villain depth.
This show has some great ideas, and a wonderful character portrayal by the main actress, but let down by our main actor Taecyeon's lack of acting skills, and a rather annoying older sidekick character, unfortunately.
The main actress saves the day though, you'll cry with her, laugh at her, feel her frustrations. This makes this series well worth watching.

Sundae Soup :3
(English is not my first language, sorry if i made some mistakes.)I started watching this drama because of Ok Taec-yeon, his acting was wonderful in Vincenzo and now I want to see everything this man does, no matter what it is. It's amazing how his personality changed from character to character, proving he's an amazing actor.
Overall I really liked it, it's ideal for those looking for something light, cute and to pass the time. Don't think that just because the site says that have terror that it's going to be something like The Conjuring that has jump scares every five seconds, the ghosts I would say that are very cute, and it also gave me a ghostbusters vibe.
The main couple was also very cute to see, always good to see healthy couples in dramas, where the males leads are not completely abusive and the girls submissive (I'm looking at you Playfull Kiss). The other couple, who is actually a bromance, was also very fun to watch, they did so many funny things and even more funny because they do it together.
Anyway, let's talk about some points that bothered me, thankfully there weren't many:
- It made me nervous when that monk went to investigate on his own, discovered something, such as that the villain in the story was chasing Bong Pal and his father for a long time (5 years if I'm not mistaken) and HE DIDN'T EVEN WENT TO TALK HIS DISCOVERS TO BONG PAL, or, even tell about the weapon that could destroy the damn evil spirit.
- In my opinion the drama didn't need to have 16 episodes, I had the feeling that after a while they were dragging certain things, nothing that wasn't bearable.
- The OST was more or less, nothing very memorable.

You Have To Stick With It
I went the first half of this show fast-forwarding through a lot of stuff that I felt was getting boring or was overkill. Towards the end it actually picked up and got interesting. I don't have a whole lot to say about it. It was decent, but I feel like it would've been a great 8 episode series and instead it's an okay 16 episode series. Below are just my notes that I took while watching.I knew I recognized him, but I had to look it up to place him. I wish I hadn't because I've only ever seen him in Vincenzo and now when I see him I'm like, "Ughhhh this douche bag." lol
This guy started coughing/choking while he was at that funeral, and now he's here with his friend... who sees ghosts. Please tell me this man didn't die.
I have been fast-forwarding like mad through this show. Like, it's okay, but it's getting boring.
However, they just went to exorcize the brother who's going nuts who they thought was being tortured by his dead ex-girlfriend, and I just feel the need to comment.
I don't want to say he's to blame because she ran into traffic but I also sort of want to blame him. You specifically didn't tell her you were going to have brain surgery, then at the last minute, call her and tell her you're sorry and how you might not be back, which OF COURSE throws her into a panic, which caused her to not pay attention. Like why do that at the last minute if you wanted to keep it from her!?
Really? This guy is dead? That was such a ridiculously minor accident. He hit plastic barricades going about 25mph.
LMAO
In Rang: "Hey... Bong Pal, is Hyeon Ji with you?"
Bong Pal: * silence *
Cheon Sang: *little wave to this empty chair, little wave to that empty chair *
Omg her flashback to her accident is ridiculous. It's not raining and no one is around. Suddenly it is raining, and not only do like 6 people come out of nowhere, but they all have open umbrellas. lol
Wow and it gets worse. The people showed up with umbrellas right away, yet he got out and was talking to her solo first. Make up your mind show. Just a little bit of continuity.
Is Hyeon Ji's mom the one that seems to be getting used by Hye Seong via fear?
Man Korean hospitals have ZERO security. The amount of times I've seen bad guys trying to murder people on hospital floors and hospital roofs in Korean dramas is off the charts. lol
You see him and you just hug him and cry instead of being like, "Yo, I'm in a coma upstairs!" Like, this is the important info. I hate when they do that.
"Doctor, why can't she remember anything!?" Damn, she just woke up from a five year coma like 10 seconds ago. Give her a break.
Man, the irony of the mother is unmatched. Doesn't like Bong Pal because "You can't just go around trusting anyone in this world." but instantly trusts the man who tried to kill her daughter TWICE and probably will try again a few more times.
Okay, so the series picked up, the ending is pretty much exactly what you expect. It would've been a great 8 episode series but instead it's just an okay 16 episode series.

As with korean costume makeup, the ghost were scary looking. Some scenes were gripping and not for the faint hearted when you watch it at night
What amazes me the most is the script and the writing. Heres a team of writers who knows what it wants to tell and how to tell it in 16ep. The plot when you thought was predictable as they clearly show who the antagonist was from almost the start keeps surprising you as the plot unfolds a d continues to be exciting and suspenseful to the end.
Furthermore i was surprised with Taecyeon and So Hyun. When they first announce the pairing i was worried and hesitant to watch. Surprise surprise that they were adorable together and bashful which works for their character and school student setting. So Hyun was a gem and i love her Hyun Ji who was spunky, can kickass, and super cute. Bong Pal was dorky, grumpy turned sweet. The two sidekicks were fun to watch too. Lastly Kwon Yul's acting was spot on. So eery and scary. So this is another awesome tvn drama that i didnt expect to like but in the end love it.

The drama didn't drag, the mysteries were revealed in their own time, we didn't know everything since the beginning, they knew how to keep the audience entertained with comedy, romance, suspense, scary ghosts, fights and sad stories, I cried with so many ghosts and wanted to kick the ass of some others.
I had only watched one drama with Taec Yeon, "Who Are You?" and he's not so good, so I wasn't expecting anything from him, but wow, he surprised me, he was very good here, the fights with the ghosts, the comedy and the romance, he had so many faces, lol, his faces to Hyun Ji were the cutest thing ever. So Hyun was always great in everything I watched with her so far, she's already is an amazing actress and I loved the fact that they dressed her to look a little older, she was his Noona, lol.
Lee David, Kang Ki Young and Kim Sang Ho also had great scenes, was impossible not to love them, Lee David, Il Rang won my heart, he was so cute and adorable, it's impossible to not him.

We doesn't deserve this!
The most beautiful girl in Korea, Kim So Hyun, is being used for such crap. Have you no decency? My review must be at least 500 characters in length. I just learned this. This is bad. Where can I get her with conviction?
More text for this bullshit? No, better take this:

It's Good To Be King
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
It's good to be king, if just for a while
To be there in velvet, yeah, to give 'em a smile
It's good to get high, and never come down
It's good to be king of your own little town
Yeah, the world would swing
Oh, if I were king
Can I help it if I
Still dream time to time?
It's good to be king and have your own way
Get a feeling of peace at the end of the day
And when your bulldog barks and your canary sings
You're out there with winners, it's good to be king
Yeah, I'll be king
When dogs get wings
Can I help it if I
Still dream time to time?
It's good to be king and have your own world
It helps to make friends, it's good to meet girls
A sweet little queen who can't run away
It's good to be king, whatever it pays
Excuse me if I
Have some place in my mind
Where I go time to time

Kim So Hyun is so cute! I remember her in The Moon Embracing the Sun and will watch The Tale of Nokdu and Radio Romance because of her amazing acting and did handle emotions well. Taec Yeon is not bad. Taec Yeon and Kim So Hyun work very well together and they have a good chemistry. Kang Ki Young and Lee David’s characters rocks because they are so hilarious. I honestly think Kang Ki Young is the best comedic actor even I’d seen so far. Their scenes make me lol’d so hard.
The OST are good but not good enough against Hotel Del Luna in terms of spooky and creepy OST. Overall, it was entertaining and amusing. I will surely rewatch it someday.
