The K2 Episode 1 Reactions

I like the dramatic music, it's unique for fight scenes, though I can see why some people might not like it. These are really well choreographed fight scenes.
The overall feel of the drama is great, a suspense that I’m wondering what is going to be next.
I no nothing, and yet I want to know everything. How is he good at fighting? What happened to An na? I knew about corrupt politicians, so I’m good at that part. But I just want to know more. Strong Women are amazing. I’m so excited to watch this.

Not my cup of tea and I am not invested yet, but I am intrigued so I guess I'll keep on watching. Now, I just need to find some time to squeeze this in..

However, after browsing around all day and not really finding anything I really wanted to watch, I figured, oh well, why not give it a go?
I'm really glad that I did, I really am.
The show isn't like Healer's first episode, but that's not a bad thing, it's really not. As it's been advertised, The K2 is more, dark and grim that Healer was. There's also darker atmosphere in this right from the beginning and it's quite... Nitty gritty to start out with.
The very beginning of the episode is what hooked me, it was so well laid out and it really made me wonder what was happening, what would happen next and what on earth was going to happen to that little girl. It's not a first episode that shoves plot down your throat from the get go and you're left to wonder about a lot of things, however, it does provide you with a lot of hints of what MIGHT be going on and that's a powerful tool that I wish (any) director would utilise more often.
Without outright telling us all that much, the first episode still gives us an idea of what sort of people we might be dealing with. From the manipulative to the manipulated (and who is and is not in fact manipulated) to the wounded and hurt and what that hurt may or may not have come from. In the intro we're shown a chessboard and that seems to be what this drama will be. A game, however exactly who is playing, what side they're on and what end goal they have in mind? Those things might not be so clear and what might appear to be a foolish guy might be anything but.
The show deals the viewer much the same card that our male lead seems to be given at the beginning: thrown right in without any real clue as to what is right, who is good and what is going on. What seems like a weak woman or a foolish man might be anything but and police officers might not be good, but just like we don't know the answer, neither does our lead and he acts accordingly. Much like our lead will have to, the viewers too have to discover who to root for, who is good (and what good means in this world, because judging from this episode alone, what's "good" and "evil" might be coming with some grey areas) and when it's right and wrong to turn your back to someone.
Also, I must say that the music in this was pretty amazing as was the USAGE of said music. It gives the show an atmosphere that goes a long way to helping the viewer pick up on what kind of world this drama is set in.
I'm really anxious and curious to see where this show is going. I really liked the characters, I haven't talked about them much, mostly because I fear spoiling something.
What I will say is that, K2 (our male lead) is someone who still seems to harbour the need to help people, even if he doesn't know them or the situation, yet won't blindly follow into something just to be a "good guy". He has a limit and that makes him really interesting.
Anna (our female lead) meanwhile seems to have a lot stacked against her, yet she can pull off (at least, that we know of) two escapes on her own. I suspect she's got a lot more hidden up her sleeve than what we've seen along with a deeply wounded heart that'll probably make her operate somewhere in the grey area of "good" and "evil".

Characters:
Male Lead (name still unprovided. We're calling him Not-Healer for the sake of clarity)
1- Not-Healer is a killing machine.
2- Not-Healer is immune to pain and different physical injuries.
3- Not-Healer is not immune to the distress call of the weak and elderly in need.
Female Lead (we did learn her name last scene. Thank you!)
1- Anna has a tragic past and a dysfunctional family, to say the least.
2- Anna lived in oppressive confinement.
3- Anna is frantically desperate.
4- Anna only wears white shapeless gowns and runs around barefoot.
Second Male lead (the Assemblyman: too meh to remember his name)
1- Assemblyman is a sleazy Presidential candidate.
2- Assemblyman is a pawn in his wifey's hands.
Second Female Lead: Madam. Assemblyman
1- Madam Assemblyman is First Lady Wanna-be.
2- Madam Assemblyman is a devious manipulator.
Most interesting scene:
Last scene: Assemblyman vs. the Madam. Coincidentally, the scene that has the most dialogue.
Overall:
The K2's pilot showcased a series of dramatic, yet far from being satisfying, fight scenes injected with matching the dramatic music, in case we failed to realize this is EXTREMELY important.
I sincerely hope that all the juicy stuff will be served in episode 2.

Not to mention Ko An Na running through the streets in a white dress barefoot. If running and attracting a lot of attention isn't working maybe try hiding? Be more stealthy. Do some kind of tactic changes. Oh, and steal some shoes. She's speaks the language. If she hit up just the right bleeding heart she'd be set. It's not even developed enough for us to know whether she has some screws lose and that's why she's being stupid about her escape.
Overall I thought what little setup there was showed promise. Evil lady Yoo Jin is using An Na as a hostage to keep her father in line and make him do what she wants. Okay. But I don't care about the characters at this point. Yes, Je Ha is very lovely to look at.
Hopefully there will be more plot and development in the next episode. Maybe the action scenes will be better as well. I am curious as to how An Na and Je Ha will officially meet. He left her when she asked for help so it is a great setup for a complicated love story.
I'm still very excited about this drama. A lot of shows have started off great this year and went out on a whimper. So here's to hoping that while The K2 wasn't the best start it will find its feet.
