This show in my honest opinion was a big let down for me. This story and show in general had so much potential. However, there were 2 HUGE flaws.1. The lack of chemistry between the main leads was not only a shame but it was very apparent too. Honestly Nam Joo Hyuck's acting was great in this drama, defo not one of his best. But Shin Se Kyung felt quite inexperienced and her acting was very inconsistent. Some moments were great but others made it seem like she was a first time Idol Actress which her previous works clearly state otherwise.
2. The story was interesting at first but by episode 6 it dragged and honestly it was a chore to finish (which I didn't even manage to do). The fact that Habaek kept losing his powers even after getting them back when saving the female lead from falling off a building was utter bs in my opinion. I purely decided to watch this drama due to the idea of such a potent character falling in love and using all of his powers to save her. And I very much misunderstood and only felt disappointed from there on.
HOWEVER, the second lead couple were a breath of fresh air in the drama and I began to anticipate when Krystal and Gong Myung appeared on screen. Also the acting of the antagonist was pretty well done.
This was the 3rd kdrama I watched ever and it was the first disappointment I felt from the kdrama world.

One thing that annoys me about this drama is when Habaek (Nam Joo Hyuk) keep boasting himself about being the God. I thought he already made it clear about it since first episode. Apart from that, the rest is just fine.
This is what I think - the drama is almost fine. It's not that all bad. For me, I just think that there can be someone else who can play as Habaek. I don't think it suits Nam Joo Hyuk that well. It doesn't give the right vibe if anyone know what I mean. I don't know how to put into words. I think Nam Joo Hyuk took the challenge to play a character that is different than any of his previous roles. That's very daring of him, I would say.
I was not all disappointed with this drama. Even if other actor took the role as Habaek, probably the reception of the drama can be just about the same. The question is, who is suitable for the role? Or what can be better?
However, I've seen quite a lot of familiar faces in the drama, which is surprising. As usual, the one actor whom I always watch play as the bad guy is back being the bad guy in this drama. That one never fail to impress me. He did it good. Its never been easy to play as a bad guy.
Finally, I've completed watching this series. Well, this series could be better. I realized after a while that Moo Ra's character is so bossy although she meant well for the sake of Habaek and Bi Ryeom. Anyway, its pretty good.

The leads have absolutely no chemistry together, and it was painful to watch them. Shin Se Kyung was just mediocre, and Nam Joo Hyuk seriously has more talent than that.
Overall, the greatest disappointment of 2017.

I liked the story but as it goes on and they start to go deeper it kinda gets all over the place and loses the grip on viewers.
The main couple were good on what they had to work with but honestly i didn’t feel a strong spark between them, was more of a strong friendship than 2 people who fall in love and can't live without the other.
I dunno, maybe i’m being picky but to me there was something missing between them, no passion in their eyes when they were together and looking at each other and even in the romantic scenes i didn’t felt that spark, that little itch that tells you WOW i wanted to be in her shoes right now!
Like i said, they had such a good thing going on, a really interesting story but then it lacked character development and growth and the most important thing for me the lack of consistency.
And when telling a love story, the small details count a lot, how they touch each other, how they stare into each other eyes and a well acted kiss too (i’m not even gonna mention skinship because that is not the most important thing here) but those things all together make up the chemistry between the actors and make the scenes look more “real” and natural, it's what makes you feel butterflies in the bottom of your stomach but sadly i have to say i didn’t feel them in this drama.
Aside that, it is still a good drama to watch and it had great potencial to be something trully epic and whoosh away the audience.
I do still recomend it, watch it because it has good watch value and the actors did a good job in keeping the boat afloat.

Like I said before, I don't like fantasy very much. I can watch it but isn't my favorite gender. I think that this made me keep my expectations low and watch the drama without think that I will watch a major production. The story was interesting and made me keep following the process with anxious, this is enough to me.
The actors didn't impress me much, but about Nam Joo-hyuk (as Habaek) I have to say that I was impressed. I just finished "Weightlifting fairy, Kim Bok-joo" and see him in such a different character was very fun. He is really acting like a god until the ending and I liked a lot of his performance. Honorable mention to the kiss in episode fourteen, OMG! Take my breath away! And I never saw in any video of kiss compilation, that's absurd! haha
I'm getting used to bittersweet endings, but still let a sour taste on my mouth... I thought that they could make the ending with more elaboration, I felt that they waste much time with some unnecessary scenes and ended up rushing things to close the plot. But everything was closed, so I can complain about it, just would like to see the resolution with more details.
Anyway, I thought this a good drama for pastime if you're up to fantasy and stuff like that. Already missing Habaek waiting for me on the wall :D

I do love the premise of the drama, even with much wasted potential, the set-up here is enough to bring a touch of uniqueness to it. The romance, which is the central matter, despite everything, is very really sweet and you are in for a lovey-dovey drama. The aching atmosphere is enriched by the beautiful soundtrack. It got me very interested in the Habaek universe and I expect to read the manhwa anytime soon because the story inspires you to find more about it. And it was my first drama with Nam Joo-hyuk and now he’s my ultimate crush.
So, is it a masterpiece? Nope. Is it any worse than some of the beloved clichés worshipped by this website? “Noper”. Had I read the reviews here, I wouldn’t have watched it and because I did, I know it would be a shame. It’s a fluffy past-time, if that’s what you’re looking for, go for it :)

If you're a fan of the original work, just know that the plot doesn't go down the route you think it might take. For me, that was a bit of a disappoint. I understand that when doing a remake, it can't entirely match the original. But they could've at least tried to follow it. Where one thing lacks, another should make it up. I was hoping the costumes would give them a chance at redemption, however, it only left me with a big hole in what could've been something great.
The casting was only mediocre. If I'm going to be entirely honest, the supporting characters were the only reason why I stuck around and finished it.
Luckily for them though, I'm more generous when it comes to the original soundtracks. Just give me good ballads and I'm all ears. I basically like anything that can give me feels, even if it's just a little bit.
Overall, if you haven't seen the original work, then you'll probably have a better time watching this than I did. One thing that I'm starting to realize is that my expectations for this drama might've been too high. At the end of the day, my loyalties lie with the manhwa version so unfortunately, I'm going to have to say no to rewatching this.
With that said,
Llama out.

Be careful what you wish for.
The drama is not bad, just nothing special in the way it was executed. The overall rating of 7.4 is pretty accurate! If you have nothing else to watch, give it a try.It is watchable but predictable, It would have been nice to have some plot twists…or if it wrapped up in 10 episodes.
What was bad:
The only interesting character (the half human/half god) was left completely underused and not developed at all! Even the most easy development, the love triangle, wasn’t used.
Randomly popping deities acting super childish.
The 2 main characters were quite literally...stupid… sorry
Seemingly a Happy ending, so long as you don’t try to think about it. They literally left a never aging(immortal) handsome young looking god to live with the girl until she gets old, wrinkly and then dies!!!! Well, she got what she wished for!
The two side couples were beheaded, a major waste of potential!
All in all, if the side characters got a little more love from the producers and someone made the FL a demi god, or at least some sort of immortal, it would be a better drama.
