My Teacher was interesting in that it did not just have the common plotline but also addressed some of the issues associated with student-teacher relationships. Especially in that case that someone witnesses it, and how that can spiral out of control from rumors, losing one’s job, and everything in between. I liked theses realistic aspects added in, and I felt it gave a more complete view on the topic.
In addition, the acting was great! There was definitely chemistry between the leads, despite the age gap. Also, I enjoyed all the side characters and subplots. The cinematography was also wonderful, which is a rare find in the youth romance genre! To its core it was a movie the demonstrated how love comes in many forms, and how these forms change you and those around you. Additionally, the soundtrack was fitting, but was not a standout, in and of itself.
Overall good movie that is worth watching if you want a youth, school, romance. Although, in this genre, I found Kinkyori Renai MORE enjoyable.
Happy Drama Watching!! :)

If you try to put as much manga scenes as possible in a two-hour movie, it would definitely be cramped. I liked that this movie focused on one arc then combined it with the last arc (they left out a lot of scenes/arc from the manga but it's one of the reasons i liked this movie). It will make more sense to those who havent read the manga yet. It's like a stand alone movie, with or without the manga, you will still like it!
If you want to see and read more ItoXShimada scenes, then read the manga! hehe.
btw, Ikuta Toma and Hirose Suzu has a 14-year age gap and that struck me hard! Awesome! Sugoi! XD

It's not bad but it's also not great.
I will say it was good movie, if you are not expecting something extraordinary then give it a try but I'm not sure if you'll like it, it was okay for me in all aspect. To be honest I'm not satisfied with it there are many things that would have been better the story, it's execution. I really didn't liked the pairing I usually don't have problem in age gap but I didn't felt this in here I mean it was too much, literally he was looked like he was her father's age so I was bit uncomfortable with it, rather than this fact it was okay okay...I'll not really suggest it watch it if you don't have anything to watch and want to watch something random...

STORY: The story is quite simple, but what elevates this above many others in the same genre is you can completely understand why and how the two characters fell for each other. It's structured very meticulously and gives the characters ample time (for a movie) to get to know each other and interact in something that slowly and organically increases their feelings for each other over time. It's very easy to line up the scenes between our main characters and track the relationship alongside it. A lot of the time, in student/teacher movies, I'm almost confused about why they like each other in the first place, but not here. I do have some gripes, like how I would like to see *even more* scenes to build to and take place before the kiss, but it's a movie and has limited time, so I can't fault it too hard there.
ACTING/CAST:
SUPPORTING - the ultimate highlights were the protagonist's best friends, Chigusa and Kousuke! Great banter between them, a source of humor and happiness in the slightly somber moments, with love stories of their own! They really feel like friends, and like they care about the protagonist. The actors definitely captured the manga characters.
MAIN - Maybe this is a strange thing to say, but Ito-sensei in this movie feels realistically attractive? When I started the movie I wasn't sure if I would like it because he wasn't handsome to me and looked a bit old, but as the movie went on I found myself liking the fact that he wasn't immediately gorgeous and that his appearance grew on me as his character did. I like it better this way! The actor did a really wonderful job at keeping a teacher-like distance as well as accidentally forgetting to keep that distance.
Shimada Hibiki is slightly peculiar, in that I didn't really know what to make of her after my first watch. I found her a bit weak and childish because the latter half has a lot of sad moments, but upon further review I think the more accurate evaluation is she's simply quite honest with her feelings and doesn't hold back too much. The best word to describe her is probably 'pure'. Her feelings are relatively open and honest, despite her more reserved nature. If that seems contradictory, a good example is her facial expressions: they're the opposite of theatrical, but she doesn't hide her feelings; they're just... subtle, sometimes. I watched the movie before I knew it was based on a manga, and at multiple points I thought she was the perfect image of a pure/first love type manga protagonist. I've read a few chapters now, and the actress did a great job.
MUSIC: When it comes to movies like this where a standout soundtrack would feel out of place, I think minimal, mood music works better. It works for what it is.
REWATCH VALUE: Liked it at first, but liked it better after a rewatch, so I'm giving it a 10 for rewatch value. Will probably want to rewatch specific scenes later. In fact, I already have! Good stuff. I'm editing this on 20-06-2021 and I can confirm I still rewatch specific scenes sometimes, and I'm always trying to goad my problematic shoujo loving friends into rewatching this with me.

Well let's get started with saying that I'm a huge fan of Ikuta Toma, i love him so much! And this movie made me love him even more, I've been watching a lot of his work and never seen him on something like this, and I'm so glad he did this movie!
Let's start talking about the movie,
I'm not going to compare it to the manga, i really loved it overall, it's a very heartwarming movie that you should watch, i've been so fed up with all the drama they always give us, and i really like this kind of movie where they just tell us a good romantic heartwarming story!
The cast is really great, well i already talked about Ikuta Toma so much eheh, but he is soooo handsome here, i can't
The female is just as good, i loved here! she is beautiful, and perfect for the role! i loved her too! overall the cast here is great, they are all so great!
Let me just say that it's not a masterpiece, but it's really a good movie that never bores you

It is such a beautiful movie. The directing is top-notch, the acting is brilliant (Ikuta Toma!!!), the chemistry between the leads is amazing, they made me feel butterlies in my stomach because they were this adorable. The pacing of the movie is good, you don't get bored and you don't want to skip forward. You just want to savour it all. It's the perfect combination of solid writing, brilliant directing and well-chosen cast.
Now, there's something I didn't really like. It was strange that three friends were in love with their teachers. Like, what are the odds of this actually happening? I think they wanted to show that we can't control our feelings and we don't choose who to love and with this in mind, being in love with your teacher is not abnormal and it can happen. But, damn, it was pointless here.
Anyways though, it is a good movie and I'd recommend it to everyone honestly. Well, unless you don't feel comfortable watching this type of romantic storylines.

I've never seen such a gorgeous photography in a japanese movie as I've seen in this one. The story is sweet, the director is really good, the movie is filmed in a really "tenderhearted" way, 99% with no cringe. Imagine a cherry tree blossoming, that is the vibe that this movie gives.
okay, I could stop here but there is a character counter on this thing so let's continue. The acting is top notch, as well as the chemistry between the two protagonists. there are many memorable scenes, and I'm not talking about great and dramatic moments, it's a movie made of simple things that will warm your heart leaving you with a really nice feeling.

It's actually quite relatable because I've been there too but not so far as to confess my feelings to the teacher I liked. While Shimada confessed her feelings and insisted on continuing to love Mr. Ito, from here I also realized that this girl's character was still innocent.
I think this film is quite good at handling the topic of relationships with a big age gap, especially the character Shimada is still in high school and Mr. Ito is 35 years old. The story seems to provide a solution to the problems above, just wait till Shimada become an adult, that's it.
This film doesn't make me doki-doki, it's just visually pleasing to look at, from the beautiful actress and cool actors to the setting which it's not as flat as another Japanese film with a similar genre.
I think that's all, the film isn't special, it's just that it seems to me it could be a comfort movie because the vibe is somehow relaxing, and that makes me enjoyed it.
So thanks.

The two things that made me love this drama (Well.. Toma Ikuta would make it three..) is that it shows the consequences and stigma for teacher/student relationships, despite that the love between the two was genuine and innocent. I'm so sick of seeing teacher/student pairings being used as a sexual genre because even though that is the case nowadays most of the time, there are those very few relationships out there that are genuine like this. It shows that not all teachers that start things with students or vise versa just want to have sexual relations and that they're humans too, not animals. Love doesn't only equal sex.
This movie was a breath of fresh air. It's nice to see a non-sexual teacher/student movie. It wasn't lovey-dovey, rainbows and unicorns, etc. It was realistic and that's what made it my favourite movie of all time. I literally can't find a fault, but of course everyone has different preferences. I personally would recommend it to others. Heck, maybe even rewatch it again with friends. I feel like this is the type of movie I can watch over and over again. It's so sweet and pure.
I really hope I can find movies like this again. I guess I'll be on a hunt for some, haha!

A ride exploring love's unexpected twists.
Ever stumbled upon a movie you weren't quite eager to watch, only to find yourself entranced by its story? Well, that's precisely what happened when I stumbled into "My Teacher,""My Teacher" invites you to witness the journey of Shimada Hibiki, a skilled high school archer discovering love for the first time. When she starts noticing the warmth beneath her strict history teacher, Mr. Ito, things take a turn. The film explores the challenges of teenage emotions and societal norms.
Hibiki's emotional rollercoaster, portrayed by Hirose Suzu and Ikuta Toma, feels genuine, adding depth to the story. The cinematography captures the essence of the narrative, creating a visually appealing backdrop.
While the movie touches on potentially controversial themes, it does so with a delicate approach. "My Teacher" is more than a love story; it's about understanding the complexities of human connection and the choices we make in the face of societal expectations.
The film offers an intimate look into the characters' lives, making it a heartfelt journey of unexpected connections and self-discovery.

Hmm ... let me think what should I say about this movie (・・)ゞ
For me, it's a little bit cheesy and boring, because many movie took this theme, even if they adapted it from manga. Well, I didn't read the manga yet, so I'm still a bit curious about the one who spread the rumor.
Okay, I'll try to be more subjective. For you who search for some cuteness and sweetness, maybe this movie suit for you. The lead actor and actress did a great job, which the chemistry is really shown. But as for me, I prefer Fujioka than the teacher (^_^;)
Well, in the end, this is a good movie, but so-so for me because there's no twisted plot or another surprise there.
