Reviews
Characters and the acting are also pretty great in Mix. The main characters in the movie are the MC Tamako, secondary MC Hisashi and antagonist Ejima. Each character is well developed and acted, though I will say Ejima could have been given a little more screen time to flesh out something in particular that he did, but it's not that big of a deal. Also noteworthy is that most of the characters in this movie felt like real people, with real problems and personalities, and I think that this is one of the biggest accomplishments that Mix, a movie essentially about life, could achieve.
The most impressive acting that came from this movie had to be from Yui Aragaki, the actor that played Tamako. Her performance was captivating, and made me instantly check her filmography after the movie, and luckily for me I haven't yet seen her in anything else. The side MC, Hisashi (Beardie), played by Eita was also pretty good in this, but i've seen a few of his other roles so I kind of expected as much. I would be remiss if I didn't give props to the side cast also, because they too held up their weight, honestly I couldn't notice a weak link at all.
Now for the music. First off I will admit I can't remember specific tracks, but I recall at the time saying to myself how fitting the music was on a few occasions. I can say for certain however that the music was important in bringing life to scenes through different varied sounds, similarly to how the various themes add to the somewhat simple premise.
It doesn't matter if you're not a fan of table tennis, check out this movie!
