This is a slow burn slice of life drama revolving around the main characters' marriage contract plot, included in the story are two other couples (their friends) and their everyday lives and how they go about it. This won't make you laugh or cry, instead this drama will make you think or feel for days to come. Episode 1-3 were fine but episode 4 to episode 10 was really slow (at times boring) and this is where the bulk of the slow burn is at, it got better for me at episode 11 onwards until the end.

I usually finish a drama within a a day or two of binge watching but this one took me around 2 weeks (too slow for my taste hence almost dropped it many times), but I'm glad that I didn't because what kept me around were the stories of the secondary characters which I genuinely enjoyed. Despite the difficulty in watching it, I have no regrets and I have enjoyed it a little bit although this isn't something that I would watch again but is somewhat memorable.

Overall, if you have limited time like me and have to go through dozens of other dramas in your list then I suggest that you skip this one otherwise if you have a lot of free time and nothing better to do then I think you should watch this drama and it should have a lasting effect on you.

It is Relatable

The story plot is relatable in terms of the daily life struggles in finances, relationships, societal issues, and self-improvement. The convenient marriage was a bit much for me that Lee Minki and Jung Somin could've dealt their financial problems in another way but it wouldn't be a thicker plotline. As of the other plots of the story, I really liked the portrayal of Esom and how she dealt with societal issues in her workplace, her relationship, and her self. The way Esom confronted her male co-workers about her no-bra. HELLO!!! For every women, it's a big conflict we face whatever the size is. Later on, she decides to get custom-made bra was great idea that Esom's character's self-improvement in harassments and gender inequality of the society.

sorry if i'm not good at english and if it's wrong .. i like this drama because it's not boring it's not a type of drama that will make you fast forward because the scene is boring ... from the start until the end its not boring it will also make you laugh ..Nice touch….Not enough people are interested in this drama but those who are, are taken back by how good it is. It is one of the best kdramas, and as I said earlier one of the best tvN dramas this year, if not the best. The writer is puts a lot of effort into each scene, the drama is superb and is a classic drama in the making, I feel like in the future people will go back to this drama and quote it, its that good.I would also like to point out that the drama OST fits it perfectly.

hidden gem- was looking for something light with contract relationship and ended up with deep feelings.

Highly recommended to watch, and it doesn't even matters what kind of genre you are looking for. Even if you think, you don't feel like watching this, you should watch.

This was one of the best character developments I've seen in Kdrama. the way main leads and the supporting couples transform to their true selves was one to look for.
this base story is typical contract marriage because of conditions and main leads falling in love and of course smb with tragic past. but this is where it stops.

the drama is a bit monotonous at first glance and if you are not in mood for wathcing something about life, inner peace, personal growth, thinking about what is important in life, what is love, friendship, families and what can be called love then this might seem abit dragged as there are many discussions touching this topics. but if you are all for it, then this is for you.

frankly, when I started watching I wanted to watch something light, but without realization I started to get drawn in this drama and was enjoying and relating myself very much. It did manage to deliver the feelings and warmness and harshness of this world.

I would have give 10/10 but would have to take away some ponts because last 3 episodes seemed a bit dragged for me. OST was on spot and well aligned as it would start and stop at the right moment. Everybody working on this drama did good job.

A bit of slice of life and romance spun into one, this drama offers unique, yet relatable characters that are enjoyable to watch as they go about their daily lives. The storyline was solid and the pace was perfect. Chemistry between the couples were also great. Fans of Lee Min Ki, Jung So Min, Esom, and the other cast members who also like the romance genre will surely love this one.

Blah, blah, blah. I can go on about this drama sounding like an infomercial, but that will be boring. JUST WATCH THIS! YOU'LL SURELY LOVE IT. Come on! It stars Lee Min Ki. LEE MIN KI! Enough said! Muahahahaha...anyone reading this can surely tell I'm a LMK fan. Jung So Min, Esom, Kim Min Seok, and Kim Ga Eun are also awesome actors. AND Kim Min Kyu with his adorable dimples.

Anyway, I really digressed there. This drama is a must-watch.

This is a marriage contract kdrama. I'm a sucker for a good (or even mediocre) marriage contract drama. On the upside, this one's good. Jung So Min (who I loveloveloved in Father Is Strange) plays Yoon Ji Ho, an assistant k-drama writer who is in need of a home in Seoul. Lee Min Ki (getting back into the swing of things after his military enlistment) plays Nam Se Hee, a rather stoic software engineer who has a house with a sizable mortgage and rather particular requirements for a tenant. Ji Ho ends up renting a room in Se Hee's house and, finding themselves comfortably compatible, decide to have a contract marriage to resolve some side problems (cohabitation with the opposite sex still being somewhat frowned upon and Se Hee's parents pushing a lot of blind dates on him). Neither Ji Ho nor Se Hee are particularly demonstrative people, so much of the series is them failing to communicate with each other effectively, but it all ends rather satisfyingly. The supporting cast really breathes life into this drama - with the main pair being so self-contained, it really relies on their surrounding friends, family, and acquaintances to push the two to stand out more. Things do reach a point towards the end where there's a little bit of frustration of the stubborn refusal to effectively communicate with each other on the part of the main couple, but it is balanced out by the delight of how the other two major couples end up. This drama is not a quick dash to the finish line, but a slow stroll through the park on a day that's not quite warm enough for it.

wasn’t a slice of life..

The problem with such dramas, is that they hold a huge responsibility, a drama about the hardships of getting married..
I didn’t expect much to be honest from the beginning, so I’m not disappointed, I’m right now watching the last episode
this drama, it’s not that bad, but it’s not good either, it’s perfect for passing time, is the perfect way to describe it, let’s start with the story, because it’s what I think is most important
I’d say this drama is poorly written, unfortunately they wanted to show us how marriage is different but I didn’t feel the difference, marriage is such a hard thing to do, it’s a huge responsibility on both partners, but instead of showing us the hardships of 2 complete strangers getting married, they stopped at the first zone of their interaction, what I mean is that they were complete strangers, until the end, they literally kept speaking formally until last episode, I mean, where’s the flow of the relationship, how are we supposed to understand and to sympathize if there are no feelings at all, she said she loves him, he cried after she left, but in the process there wasn’t any chemistry, for the actors, I’ve never seen the male actor in anything before or maybe I have but as a second character but he wasn’t really that good, either that or his role just sucks, because he’s supposed to be serious and formal but I thought that was going to change at some point, as I mentioned there wasn’t any improvement in their relationship, he’s supposed to be, weird because he was hurt in the past, but in actuality he’s just robotic, the reason I went to lengths of saying he sucks, because of the crying scene, I wasn’t affected, for the actress, I liked her in your smile has left your eyes, but I don’t like her here at all, this was supposed to be serious because the message they are trying to convey is heavy, but in my opinion she wasn’t fit for this role, you can find better, I don’t have much criticism for the “ we want to get married but it’s hard for us “ couple, I don’t remember their names, to be honest I was kind of pissed at the girl, not because she wanted to get married but because she was acting like a child sometimes, and she didn’t take her partner’s life in consideration, she was selfish, as for soo ji and the CEO, their relationship was really interesting and light, I like both of them, one of things I didn’t like is the sexual references they kept dropping, one of the reasons I enjoy kdramas more than western tv is because they focus more on the story, this felt as a desperate way to copy american shows, as for the music, marriage by moonmoon OST is better than the whole series, it’s really good and emotional, overall I’d say if you just want to pass time watch it but you can find 10 times better shows, real kdrama and melodrama, actual and bittersweet slices of life

so overrated

I finished episode 6 and I don't want to continue watching this drama. I wonder why everyone raved about this ! Repetitive storyline, predictable story, stupid marriage, stupid love...girl quits her favorite job and is happy to get married! Every scene I said to myself: Is this really it? Does it mean this ridiculousness? And I really don't know why everyone liked it!
The name of the drama does not match the story. How beautiful and meaningful Ji Ho's monologues were irrelevant to the stupid things she was doing.
The only thing that attracted me a little was the relationship between the other two couples, but not so attractive that it can make me want to continue watching this drama.
By the way, Jung So Min! it is enough! How many times do you play the role of a simple-hearted girl who loves to get married?!

Drama for mature viewers - based on content ONLY
Gem of a drama that has been overlooked.
Story: Steadfast and realistic story of modern relationships - what is marriage? what is love? love and desire ? told from three pivotal points: 30+, parents, work comrades. Compelling (writing) story-lines of loss, luggage of past, and fear of future. The dialogs and discussions between the adults was "brilliantly delivered and complimented by the camera work
Acting/Casting: Main leads were mesmerizing. Every actor was on point for dialog, body language and feels. Solid casting.
Music: simply perfect OST and songs within episodes
Overall: Almost passed this over from the poster. Dove into based on reviews. One of best dramas for 2017 (maybe 18 from what I've watched). If you are looking for a drama that has depth, breathe and clarity, WATCH THIS!

The drama gives us 3 different women who has taken on different set of life choices but have not yet chosen to live for themselves. They are so busy thinking about what is going to happen in the future, they start to realise that the present won't seize itself. Each of them meet different sorts of guys which come into their lives whether willingly or not and makes them realise that they have so much more to live for in the present that they initially thought. There are some necessary scenes where the couple must be apart but only because they need to learn about themselves and what do they want in the end of the day. Despite the hardships, these 3 women could still rely on another for support.

Everyone gets the ending they deserve here so it's very satisfying to watch. The characters that each people portrayed were executed well and I found myself not taking an intermission with this drama. It always has an element to look forward to, whether it is a good or bad development.

An excerpt from Ji-Ho and See-Hee - "just because you lived yesterday, doesn't mean you know everything about today", was something that struck me. The characters they played aren't very young and have gone through a portion of their lives before. The difference was that they lived different lives from another, so how they perceived living was not the same. Ji-Ho was too busy to live and See-Hee thinks he has done enough and gets protective from going outside his comfort zone yet putting these two together you get some conflict of values but it's what they needed. Soo Ji has lived in detachment while being self sufficient, meets Sang Goo who would never take that away from her despite it frustrating him. Ho Rang and Woo Seok always had one another, learns to live without the other and sees if that really was the best choice after all. All these couples encounter phases which are the contrast to their current situations and it helps them live better for their days ahead.

This drama is worth the watch and it left me thinking about what I want to do about my present without constantly worrying about the future that has yet to come.
