Rarely I drop a title nearby the end, but this one was so much terrible. I liked the ambientation , since the radio isn't a really used place for dramas, and also I really like Kim So Hyun acting so I wanted to watch it. It started good but turns out in a bunch of cliches not so well explained and without growth on the characters. Probably it was a good web drama or a mini-series, but really 16 episodes for this were really too much since everything keeps reapeating on the same two things...

Buttoned up doesn't mean emotionless, but bland might

There's a scene midway through this story where the FL lead remarks that Ji Soo-ho (played by Yoon doo-joon) speaks the language of silence. I thought that was beautifully put. He doesn't do Acting 101, he doesn't give a theatre-style performance, but you're never left in any doubt about his emotional state - his love for the FL, his pain at his family situation, his jealousy of the FL/2ML dynamic, and his bewilderment at lots of commonplace things.

Sadly, I can't say the same about Kim So-hyun as Song Geu-rim. For someone who had no problem having full-on screechy meltdowns in the first episode, her interactions with the ML are curiously bland, pallid, and listless. Her affection for Soo-hoo was almost imperceptible. I think she was more interested in modeling lipgloss than performing.

Meanwhile, almost everyone else was overacting - though not always to the story's detriment. Both Yoon Park as Lee Kang and Kwak Dong-yeon as Jason gave us crazy, over the top and Oh Hyun-kyung as Nam Joo-ha was suitably villainous.

The story was fine, plain, nothing new. The side stories/secrets weren't really developed but weren't confusing. I wouldn't watch it again but I would like to see more dramas featuring some of the actors - particularly Yoon doo-joon and Kwak Dong-yeon.

not enjoyable

the female lead was ughhh!!!
nothing happening throughout the drama to peak my interest..... all so mediocre.. not boring enough that i would leave it in between.. n neither good enough to keep my interest in it!!
in the beginning i waited for something major to happen.. but i realised in perhaps the 6th episode that nothing really is happening here ...n then i just waited for it to end........ just bcuz i dont usually leave dramas in between.. unless they r really really bad.

the female lead made the male lead appear pathetic.. when he was not.. she didnt even deserve love in her life.. n on top of that the actress playing the role is stone faced.. the same expression throughout the drama.. it was tiring to watch it.. the story + actress made me hate the FL.

When I heard that the two main leads were going to be Doojoon and Sohyun, I was super excited, as I love these two actors... separately. My main issue with the cast is their chemistry. When I first started the show, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, as sometimes it's written into the script for them not to have chemistry at first so I waited.. and waited... and it never happened. I don't know if it's just me but I never really felt a huge spark with the two leads.Which brings me on to the biggest problem I had with this show. The story. The story is SO cliche, in an almost outdated sense. Now, don't get me wrong I have watched my fair share of guilty pleasure cliche shows, I love me a cold, closed off male lead with a bubbly female lead (or vise versa). However, there's SO MANY of these types of shows that just do it better than this one.
As for the music, it doesn't stand out to me and is very unfitting for the mood sometimes.
Overall, its okay. Not my cup of tea but I can see why someone would watch it.

It's just a sweet drama. You sit down, it's not that exciting like a criminal story or whatever but you just watch it anyway. Because it's sweet and makes you happy. Makes you feel warm.

The story itself is nothing that fascinating, but it's enough to make you moved atleast a little bit. Altough it's not that deep, not that really interesting but you get that bitter feeling.

I got emotional not once through this drama. I wasn't really crying, but I got teary a few times.
But this drama brought me happiness, joy and warmness the most by just watching Song Geu Rim and Ji Soo Ho's story. They gives you really good vibes. They're young, "happy" and what is the most important one : they're protective toward each other.

I will rewatch it for the sweet moments, and of course for the moodmaker's, Gang Lee's moments!

You should give a chance to this drama if you want something light and romantic, not a story what makes you depressed and makes you think about it all day. :)

First of all people need to get away from all the negative remark about this drama. I agree that Radio Romance was nothing exceptionally good, but it was certainly one of the sweetest drama I saw in a while probably? I realized after finishing Radio Romance that it is a kind of drama which could be enjoyed as a binge watch rather than weekly watch. It had nothing exciting going on so people might get bored of waiting for the episodes to air, but it will be a very good drama if you had to watch all the 16 episodes at once.

Story

Out of all the category, probably story was the weakest point of RR but it was nothing down right boring. It had its ups and down with lousy beginning, great development in the middle and really strong ending. Radio Romance is a heavily character driven drama I guess ,where main focus is on Ji So Hoo and Song Geu Rim. The whole story revolved around these two main leads and nothing much happens outside their circles. The drama was full of cliches which made me think that probably it was written by some armature or new writer. However, what I really liked about the story was there was almost no angst in the drama. No unnecessary break up, misunderstanding or family feuds. Radio Romance was true to it genre being a cute romantic comedy, though to me it seams more like a romantic healing drama.

Acting

Acting was the strongest part of this drama. All the characters i came across portrayed their parts really well along with the minor ones. The ones who stole the show were of course Yoon Doo Joon as Ji So Hoo and Yoon Park as Lee Gang. I've seen Doo Joon before in Lets eat series with his comic chops and on Splash splash love, but with this drama i guess he established himself as a main stream melo actor i guess? I loved how he portrayed the character Ji So Hoo who is suffering from insomnia and borderline depression without any over the top facial expression and subtle voice. I think I've become a fan for life now. Yoon Park on the other hand portrays the character of Lee Gang with both eccentricity and maturity. This could have been his break out role if this drama has gotten better rating. All other actors did well be it Kim So Hyun, Yura, Kwak Dong Yeon or Ha joon as handsome manager or Nam Joo Ha as Ji So Hoo's mother. I particularly like the young Ji So Hoo portrayed by Nam Da Reum. He has long and bright future ahead.

Music

I LOVED LOVED LOVED the music of this drama. It just fit so much to the surrounding of the drama and has great melody and hummable lyrics. The song STORY is playing on loop on my phone, laptop and iPod.

Re-watch Value

I think I am gonna re-watch this show at some point of time. Maybe when I am bored or some time has passed, I would definitely like to watch this drama again, probably all for the sake of my new found love for Yoon Doo Joon. He was just that great in Radio Romance.

Overall

As I've stated above in the beginning I really hope that people should just chill and take this drama as a light romantic comedy/healing drama. Don't expect anything and just go with the flow. It is maybe the drama which should be binge watched to get the whole essence of it. I would definitely recommend people to binge watch this drama once. I am sure you'll be able to get away with the whole drama in just one sitting only.

calm and sweet

honestly this drama was not to chaotic or stressful like that. It would not be like my go to drama but something you would watch if you didnt have anything to do. The pace is slow and you may not have the patience for it but its a good slow. it does get a bit faster but only towards the end. I loved the main couple once they got together they were adorable. There are some interesting moments but the show overall is not that thrilling if you are looking for a simple kdrama with barely stressful times then this is the one for you .

Heartwarming drama

I just finished rewatched this drama, and I found that my 2nd time was much more enjoyable.

For me, I can feel the chemistry between the main leads, and they were able to potray their characters really well. This is my 1st Yon Doo Joon drama and I cannot think any other actors than him as the main lead: the coldness, expression, body language was really perfect for his character in this drama. His eyes tells everything.

The story was cliche but it warms my heart..

Overall I would recommend this drama if you looking for heartwarming and healing drama..

Uncomplicated Drama

Radio Romance has an uncomplicated storyline. You'll love how it highlights the significance of "Radio" in our life and how a real family is in the life of a celebrity. I watched the first 3 episodes consecutively because I'm excited to know what's going to happen next. The male lead character played by Yoon Doo Joon depicts a different personality unlike other male characters in a drama. You'll love how he changes along the way and how their love story unfolds in a romantic way. Among other dramas that gives you a part where the male and female role would have a serious argument/misunderstanding then will reconcile afterwards, Radio Romance doesn't have that. And it's just cute and sweet how Doo Joon and So Hyun play along with their feelings, how simple yet endearing the male character is. So if you just want a sweet and romantic drama with a slice of family affair this is a much watch :) .

With many both great and negative thoughts of the drama community, finally, Radio Romance has come to an end!

When I first saw this drama I squealed! Kim So Hyun is in this, she's kind of one of my favorites at the moment. The story looked promising too: your average love story, which you'd except to offer viewers many fluffy and cliche drama scenes that we all love. First of all, yes, there was an obnoxious amount of cliches that were honestly a bit too much. The storyline, quite unique and promising, turned out into a rich family feud that is almost like cancer in the Kdrama world. Second, there were many diverse characters in the drama, including an enthusiastic and cheerful female lead, a rich and arrogant male lead, the crazy but sweet second male lead, the mean CEO and many more. What I found the most dissatisfying and the reason why I quickly removed the drama from my favorites list was the lack of chemistry between the main couple. I didn't like Yoon Doo Joon's acting one bit! Why did the directors of this drama had to make him so possessive towards the end? Felt more of a psycho rather than a jealous male lead if you ask me. On the other hand, many people argued about Kim So Hyun being too young for her role, however, I though the opposite: she was spunky, cool and her fashion sense was amazing! So, without the strong chemistry and deeper meaning in a drama, I couldn't bring myself to say that this drama was brilliant. But surely, I'd rewatch it and give it some more though.

I personally knew that Radio Romance would surely be in my top drama list. But that didn't go as planned, I lost it as the drama was progressing downhill. Oh well, I still hope 2018 brings us something better.

IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A LIGHT DRAMA TO WATCH THIS ONE IS IT!
ITS A GOOD DRAMA IF YOUR STILL FRUSTRATED OR ANNOYED >>

IT WAS A GOOD DRAMA TO WATCH BUT I DONT THINK ITS THE BEST .BUT LIKE I SAID IT WAS LIGHT KINDA DRAMA .IT WASN'T
OVER DRAMATIC OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT . BUT I MOSTLY WATCH FOR MAIN COUPLE THEY HAD GREAT MOMENTS AND WAS REALLY TAKEN
BACK OF HOW GREAT THEY DELIVERED THE KISS SCENES ESPECIALLY WHEN THE HAVE AN AGE GAP .THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE AWKWARD .LIKE OTHER DRAMA KISS SCENES BUT NO SHE PULLED IT OFF.

PROS:
~the visuals
~Great chemistry
~cute jealous moments
~they knew how to comfort one another
~loyal couple
~first loves (kinda you'll get it if you watch it)
~Kim so-Hyun Acting
~ touching moments
~no main villain

CONS:
~maybe the not so love triangle was kinda pointless
~slow at time
~it din't really get you into it
~some things where kinda pointless a waist of film for maybe better ideas

BUT THEY ARE NOT REALLY THINGS THAT I REALLY REALLY HATED .SO THE LAST THING I"LL SAY IS JUST WATCH MAYBE YOU'LL LIKE IT
OR HATE IT BUT AT LEAST CHECK IT OUT BEFORE YOU DECIDE . PS : THERE IS A LOT OF MOMENTS FOR MAIN LEADS IN DRAMA <3

I quite liked this show, the cast was really good hence the acting is brilliant but I felt the show dragged on for too long unnecessarily; I think the story could have been completed successfully in 12 episodes max. I stuck with it because there was a very interesting backstory which I needed to know all the details of, the backstory was wrapped up but I felt more could have been done with the character of Jason & I also felt that more detail could have been added to Ji Soo Ho's family history to make it more understandable. There was a very small side story about two co-workers in a relationship which I loved, it was very cute & funny! I actually wish there were a few more scenes with them.
I mainly chose to watch this drama because Doo Joon is in it but I was blown away by Kwak Dong Yeon, playing Jason, it was only a supporting role but the character was so intriguing & the way he acted was fabulous so I will definitely be looking at more of his work.
Overall, I liked the show, the plot was decent but became slightly repetitive at times. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be watching this again as it was nothing special despite the brilliant cast.
