I just want to say for who not like to watch Chinese drama might be like this drama for sure but I just want to tell you that the first 10 episode it’s not so much interest at all it’s get more interest when they are born as mortal and get more interest when they were fall in the dream this is just a really good drama for me. I can’t count that how many times I watch this drama well done, we’ll play from all of the cast. The first lead female is just so cute and smart. The male lead is so strong and handsome. They are perfect for each other just like angel and God. I hope that’s Chinese could do more drama just like this drama and Ten Miles of Peach Blossom. Dilireba’s acting in here is just excellent I don’t care what people said but I believe with my own eyes. Love to see Vengo Gao and Dilireba in the new drama.

Wow, I started this drama without much expectation. Usually, fantasy dramas are not my type. However, after the first two episodes I just felt in love. It’s a drama that it’s better than expected and better than any other (of the same genre) that I have seen before. The little fox, Bai... she is a wonderful woman. She seems sentimental and weak at the beginning but she demonstrates how strong and powerful she is. She is a woman who loves herself and tries to always take the best decisions. She has a strong personality. The actress (Dilralba) was born to portrait her. She’s like an angel. Vengo Gao, he was also born to portrait him. They are so beautiful together, they have a lot of chemistry. This story is good written, always interesting and looking forward the next episode. It never stayed the same way, there was a lot of plot twists and more that always left me impressed. This drama shows the little fox’s growth into a mature and wonderful woman and more than that ( I won’t say it because you have to see it). This drama made me emotional, make me cry and make me smile countless of times. I will never forget this drama because I learned so many things about life, pain, about moving on and about different things in general. I think this drama is unique and forever be stored in my heart. Lastly, acting and ost are amazingly beautiful. The effects too and the cinematography is out of this world (simply beautiful, perfection). I loved the colors, the locations, the camera shots and everything actually made the drama better. They all did a great job at creating this masterpiece. You won’t regret watching it.

My favourite Chinese drama!

I really really enjoyed this drama. I loved the characters, the plot and the set-up and costumes.

The acting of Dilraba and Vengo Gao was stunning. They both did their characters justice. The other actors and actresses were also good. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Bai Fengjiu and Dong Hua. They are so cute together! I also enjoyed Lian Song and Chen Ling's friendship and romance. They were amazing support characters. The actors also played well in their roles.
I was just really irritated with Ji Heng. She got in between Bai Fengju and Dong Hua at a critical moment. Yan Chi Wu was a cute and comical character. I enjoyed him.

The decor, costumes and overall set-up of the drama was nice and light. It was a lot more light and softer colours than Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. I liked it more. Also, the story of Bai Fengjiu and Dong Hua is closer to the book series than Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. The soundtrack was amazing and I am listening to it now, as I am typing this :)
I would definitely watch this drama again!

If you loved Bai Feng Jiu and Dong Hua Dijun in Eternal Love, you might want to watch this show.

This was the first drama I couldn’t wait for. I watched all the YouTube videos showing the making of. I patiently waited until my streaming service had the English translations ready to go. Then in January, I sat down and began what I hoped was the next EL…..which……..sigh, it wasn’t.

STORY:
Eternal Love of Dream is the love story of two fun characters from Eternal Love adapted from the novel by the same writer as Eternal Love. The problem with this story is Bai Feng Jiu’s and Dong Hua Dijun’s story is pretty much the only interesting storyline in this entire show. One of the beauties of EL is that it had so many fun characters that it wasn’t just about the leads. Other than the character of Chi Wu played very nicely by Wayne Liu, everyone else was just so-so. Okay. I take that back….Zhe Yan and Bai Zhen’s relationship was very nicely defined (more so than EL) and I will admit I didn’t see anything but bromance in EL, but it is very easy to see there is more to those two in ELOD (It was almost as if they said…..What Censors?).

CHARACTERS:
Of course, Bai Feng Jiu and Dong Hua Dijun are so much more interesting in ELOD because they are fleshed out and have lots of good and bad about them. I didn’t appreciate their mortal arc (but it was well thought out). I do love how Bai Feng Jiu is really good at some things like cooking and sword fighting but still childish and immature up until the Aranya arc. Dilraba is probably one of my favorite Chinese actresses if not the very top. The same goes with Vengo Gao’s performance as the cold and aloof Dong Hua Di Jun. He warms up about the same time the Feng Jiu grows up. Their conclusion was quite nicely done.

Wayne Liu played Yan Chi Wu the obnoxious demon prince out to challenge Dong Hua Dijun to several duels all the time because he thinks his true love Ji Heng will marry Dong Hua. By far, Chi Wu is the MOST interesting character in the entire show. Wayne Liu played 15th Disciple in EL but in this, he is WAY more fun (they even explain the likeness which is silly but who cares).

That’s it. Si Ming’s and Feng Jiu’s relationship in EL was more fun. Lian Song and Cheng Yu were more interesting in ELOD but meh…I didn’t even see their story was concluded. Other than the strangely fascinating pair of Bai Zhen and Zhe Yan (by the end….it was obvious), not one of the characters were fun or deliciously evil.

Ji Heng (Angel Liu), well I feel very sad for the actress. Here she bought the rights to ELOD before EL was released. After EL, there was no female that could play Feng Jiu properly other than Dilraba. If Ji Heng was written the way Angel Liu portrayed her, then eeeeek. She would have been better off trying for the Cheng Yu part. From the first moment Ji Heng was introduced, I hated her and didn’t change my mind with her ending either. I don’t think that was because of Angel Liu but how it was written. (Poor Angel Liu)

MUSIC:
The music was nice, but I didn’t download anything. It was very reminiscent of EL. Again….meh.

REWATCH VALUE:
I’ll admit, I went back to watch the beginning parts with Zhe Yan and Bai Zhen (because the end was so blatant) just to see if they were a couple from the beginning……yep. Other than that, I just couldn’t do it. I may go back and re-watch the bird tribe arc with Chi Wu and Feng Jiu. That was just fun all around.

OVERALL:
If you liked EL, you should watch ELOD. If you like Vengo Gao or Dilraba (and I love them both), then watch ELOD. If you like lots of fun characters which makes Wuxia so much fun…..ELOD, not so much. Truth be told, I put ELOD on hold in March and did not pick it back up to complete until August. It didn't capture my heart as well as EL did. BUT! It was worth finishing.

The fate Dong Hua and Feng Jiu deserves!

First time writing a review - ever! I feel so strongly about the 3L3W series.

Similar to TMOPB, ELOD follows the same flow. This is the love story of dong Hua and feng jiu! For their fans from TMOPB, you’re in for a real treat — this show was perfect for me as it gave me the ending TMOPB couldn’t give. It broke my heart in TMPOB to know that dong hua’s name couldn’t be on the stone of fate. I personally felt like they deserved to be together forever. Their story here is entirely different though so no comparisons in that sense.

- feng jiu chasing dong hua / mortal realm (this was my least favourite arc) it was like a repeat of the initial eps in TMOPB where she was all gooey eyed and dong Hua didn’t even notice her. They maintained this for a good 20+ eps I had to fast forward a few parts. This is also the arc where feng jiu goes down to the mortal realm to help dong Hua with his trial. Here, lessons are learnt and feng jiu matured thereafter.

- back in sky heaven (this is where things pick up, yay) every ep from here on was super duper good, dong Hua started to notice feng jiu and he fell in love with her. Finally ice face!!!! I really enjoyed their interactions here including how much she tried avoiding him at the start but it was really refreshing to see this side to the almighty dong hua

- aranya’s dream (this was my FAVOURITE arc) and no I don’t mean Aranya/Shen ye’s love story cos tbh I couldn’t really care about that tragedy. This is the arc where it gets all lovey dovey for our leads, it was so enjoyable watching them lead their happy coupley lives in another universe! I can only go on and on about the episodes in this arc cos there were really too many sweet and key moments here!! Without diving into detail, I’m referring to eps 35, 42, 44, 46 amongst many other eps hehe

Alas, we reach the end and what I really didn’t like was how everything was only resolved in the last episode or so. While they did give us plenty of scenes that allow viewers to envision their lives together, it’s not the same!!! But in hindsight all these fancy schmancy stuff don’t matter cos even at the end and at every battle, dong hua’s love for feng jiu was 100%. And I think that’s the highlight of ELOD - his love towards her. His love is quiet and protective, more often than not, jealous too! His possessiveness wasn’t overbearing and his jealousy I found endearing.

Oh can we get a boo boo for ji heng?! She did not deserve the happiness she got in the end, yan chi wu is too good for her *rolls eyes* I was also cheering when chong lin gave feng jiu a good wake up call - why didn’t you believe him? She claimed to be steadfast and that she wld wait but at the end of it she just believed what she wanted to believe and it lead to even more misunderstands. Oh well, alls well that ends well.

Now, where can I get a lover who would make me a ring from half his heart?!

You should watch this drama if you love a bit of drama , comedy , romance and of course action

I loved it. I cried while watching the drama. I was so anxious during the whole drama.

The cast's acting was one of the best I have seen. Both the leads chemistry was nice.

Overall I really loved it. The comedy element during the drama was also awesome.

I almost cried when the female lead was mistreated in the beginning.

But coming to the end, their reunion and the male lead knowing about their child, I loved it.

Their romance was also nice. The story was nice.

I really enjoyed this drama. This is a STAND ALONE drama, so you do not need to watch Three Lives, Three Worlds, Ten Miles Of Peach Blossom (Eternal Love Pillow Book) to understand the storyline. If you are wanting a continuation of that story for Dong Hua and Bai Feng Jiu from the previous drama you will be disappointed. The drama is a bit more softer, meaning not so dramatic in terms of obstacles than TMOPB, but honestly it was a great change.

The story was not rushed which is a plus since sometimes than can get confusing making it feel as if something is missing, that does not mean there were not some gaps in the storyline, because there was, but not a big issue. Dong Hua and Feng Jiu's characters has various different interactions in different lives and worlds, which was great since you saw how that helped each character develop.

The cast was great, and the chemistry between all characters made it wonderful to watch. If you have read the book than you will enjoy this show. If you haven't I highly recommend you do.

The one who pull me in back to watch Chinese Drama

OMG LOVE IT !!! such a great Chinese drama for me, its been long time I didn't watch C-Drama, stumble on it later in this year because saw some clips on Youtube , oh my , love the Male Lead and Female Lead chemistry, story also. I fall in love with Vengo Gao and Dilraba here, such a great pairs. Story wise, because I never saw Ten Miles Peach Blossom, I'm quite enjoyed the first 20 episode because it helped me understand the plot later, I prefer ELOD than Eternal Love tbh. After ELOD I watch Ten Miles Peach Blossom and voila Donghua and Feng Jiu story pull me in more, gosh thank god they do Pillow Book so I got happy ending instead ahahhaa ^O^. One of best C Drama I ever watch and I still watch it even tough I already finished it, I think I already watch it 4 times ^O^', its so good.

Another Awesome Storyline!

As with Eternal Love I was hooked again, as I said in that review I’m not a huge TV sorta girl and never understood what the deal with binge watching was but yep I binge watched the entire series while I had the flu! I can’t say enough how much I love each and every actor/actress in this series and I especially a massive soft spot for Vengo Gao if I ever get the chance in life to meet him it would be my honour I’ve never been so smitten with someone’s acting talent in my life, can’t wait to find more of his work!

Powerful chemistry beautiful love story with great sceneries

It was much better than I expected because I watched TMOPB before and it made me feel so irritated by FJ's weak character and the mortal realm arc was a big waste of time wich is not the case in ELOD (the costumes played a role in that too) though her personnality still started the same but I can feel that she grew up along the way, the chemistery between Dilraba and GWG is one of the best, a very powerful couple that I enjoyed all it scenes, GWG did great with all the characters he played especially DJ, he was capable of delivering the powerful side of him that he show to people and the cute, shildish one with FJ. There are many good characters that made some parts better, and I liked most of the Arcs, tho I did skip many scenes that felt slow, borring or irritating, they made every story unnecessarily draggy but thanks to the "forward button", that didn't annoy me. I recommend this one very much it's 8.5 for me and I may rewatch it someday.

Lovely romance drama that requires some patience to be immersed in this plot. I absolutely got sucked into Vengo performance in ELOD as he is require to play 3 different characters & all 3 grows on you as the story progresses. Initially i felt chemistry between Dong Hua dijun & Feng Jiu was a bit lacking, later part i realized that is how it is supposed to be as Dijun is known to have a cold demeanour, thus will be indifferent to FJ, but the moment he starts falling for her , the coldness starts to thaw & the chemistry grew stronger between them. I enjoyed their story arc the most when they "officially" met during bai Qian weeding, at fanyin valley (i cant help but get swooned whenever Dijun called FJ xiaobai) & also the dream of aranya. Dijun attempts to get closer & have more skinship with FJ were smooth & romantic. Overall the other supporting cast did great too my favs were Lian Song, Si Ming, Yan Chi Wu, A Li, Chong Lin & Cheng Yu, they add on some comic relief & remained loyal till the end. The setback of this drama was the length, if some unnecessary draggy scenes were cut out (eg the mortal realm story can be concluded in 5 episodes, Ye Qingti character can be remove, i do not really see the purpose of his story & Ji Heng love story with her guard) it would have been 35 episodes instead & the ending seems too rush, only 5 minutes of display of happy ending for our leads. I would have given it a 10 stars rating if it weren't for the setbacks mentioned.
