Dood Fah Rai Dao (2000)

Piangfah lives with her younger sister, grandmother, and a mean step-mother. Soon her grandmother dies because her step-mother pushed her off and she fell. So Piangfah is left to take care of her sister. One night they got into an argument, her sister ran and a car hit her. Puchit, the driver, was drunk that night and drove off. Her sister became handicap. Puchit remembered vaguely the next day and he went to see if he could find the person that he hit. All he could find was the necklace that Piangfah bought her sister for her birthday. Piangfah was running low on cash so she went to this lady that she met at work who was a prostitute on the side and she found a client for Piangfah. That client turned out to be Puchit. Piangfah wasn't sure if she wanted to do this. Puchit could see it and he offered to give her the money. She promised that she will pay him back. Later when she went home her house was set on fire and her sister died in it, so she was left with nothing. No home, family, or job. She went to stay with the lady that found her the client. She used half the money that she borrowed from Puchit on her sister's funeral and offered to sleep with him to pay him back the other half. He accepted it, but she got drunk and fell asleep that night. He told her that they slelpt together and she believed it. Puchit was falling in love with Piangfah and he went to see her often but she wanted nothing to do with him. She would always talk to him about revenge on the people that ruined her life. They both didn't know that he was one of them. Puchit's father married Piangfah's step-mother and she would always try to seduce Puchit. So he needed someone as a shield to guard him from her hands. He came up with the idea to hire Piangfah as his wife to get her away from him. It would be killing two birds with one stone. He could get rid of his step-mother and get closer to Piangfah at the same time. Meanwhile, Piangfah's heart was set on making her step-mother's life miserable, which is easy since they're now living in the same house again.
