I constantly kept seeing people complain about the drama and its main female lead, but she was actually really good. The story is predictable in the beginning but it gets so good, especially all the side stories because everything adds up it the end. It is overall, a very beautiful and heartwarming story with you being able to understand and respect all of the characters. I also forgot to talk about the trigger warning because, if you get triggered by the discussion in gods, the story isn't for you. That is the only sensitive topic in this storyline. Also please don't be one of the annoying fangirls who constantly kept complaining about the main girl because they thought that she doesn't deserve him. Besides that, overall it was a very good drama, and the only reason I'm saying it is because it almost made me cry, multiple times.

When Time Stopped (2018)

An interesting premise brutally devastated by nonsensical writing and plot devices. The core story was as dull as it's presentation. Which by the way, gets negative marks across the board. The color grading, the cinematography, the visuals--- poor at best. The OST might be passable I guess?

Theoretically all shows deserve a chance but there's just no upsides to this one. A plot that becomes less and less appealing once it actually starts ramping up. Character dynamics that becomes less and less appealing the moment they interact with one another. World-building that becomes less and less appealing the moment they start crafting.

A lot of "oh, so that happened... huh" moments all throughout the course of the show. Combined with the shallow plot, iffy chemistry of the leads, and low-effort execution... unless you're a die-hard fan of something in this show, there's just no appeal to it.

Honestly, I'd rather rewatch older shows ad infinitum than this one--- even if time stopped.

Bad!

Straight up unserviceable junk!! Disjointed low-budget shallow story that had no redeeming qualities. There aren't many time-stops dramas but this is definitely the worst to adapt the concept. The drama took the concept of time-stop and ran it into the ground. The memes of time-stops in JAV hold more weight than this embarrassment. The worst power-fantasy junk anime is still better than this. The inexperienced cast only brought it down even further. It's not like they had a lot to work with but still couldn't sense any talent in their souls. You can blame one part of the production over another but in reality everyone involved was to be blamed here.

Could have been good - but failed

6/10 is my rating. This is a 12 episode 2018 Korean drama that rates high on most sites and with time travel, romance, mystery and suspense would seem to be a good combination but it just didn't work for me. The male lead Joon-Woo played by Kim Hyung-Joong moves into the basement of a building where everyone sort of knows everyone and everyone's business. The landlady, Sun-A (An Ji-Hyun) is working herself to death to keep up with the interest to loan sharks from loans her deceased father took out on the building. She is desperately trying to keep the building in memory of her father.

Spoiler ? There were several elements of this that did not work in my opinion. They sort of went from being indifferent to each other to being in a romance - I guess - although I really wasn't seeing the connection between the two. There were others in the movie who also had special abilities but they did not spend much time on those stories which was a bit disappointing. There were also grim reapers whose job it was to remove those with special powers before they caused damage by using their powers in the world. It had a lot of interesting elements that could have made for an interesting and exciting story but none of it held together very well for me. I was even bored in some parts and might have quit watching all together if it would have had more than 12 episodes.

Bad show. Great song.

I watched this for Kim Hyun Joong but after a few episodes I skipped to the end. The plot was strange and it was pretty boring. Great song though! It’s been on my playlist for a year now.
Loved the time stopping idea but the God character aspect was really unnecessary. They could have gone on so many adventures with that guy chasing them around. The acting was good but I just couldn’t get past the odd spiritual angle. I thought he was going to rescue people by stopping time and return stolen artwork and stuff.

I thought the premise of this show was good/ original, but I'm eight episodes in already, and it just doesn't excite me to watch it. The dialogue and acting are just so-so. It's cliche. There's no subtlety. I'm dropping it and moving on to something else. Maybe I'll skip ahead to the last episode just for the closure? But even that feels like it'll be a bit of a chore. Meh. Don't waste your time with this one. There are plenty of other good shows to watch. Watch Encounter instead! Or Refresh Man!

The story concept of this drama is what attracted me. The start was on a hight but the more the drama progressed it got downhill. Korean dramas no matter what is the concept they tend to have same lead role problems kimd off similar dramatic scenes. But all in all I enjoy the series a lot. Its definitely worth watching coz I saw it twice. And one of my favorite thing in the series is the OST. Its nice to see Kim Hyun Joong act as the lead as well as sing in it. The song 'Just for My Love' is my favorite in this. I cud hear it all day long. The actor are great. Some faces I recognized and they are great actors. And also Lee Shi Hoo . He's sooo handsome. Anyway its definitely worth a watch

This was a good drama about humanity and how not everything you see is true; there's more than meets the eye. It's for a fact that you don't know how people live their lives and the struggles they face, but you can always be there for them, even by just listening to their stories.

This is my second time watching this and I wonder why. The drama seemed to have some awkward kind-of-feeling to it and although it started out really well, it eventually lost it's charm a bit. NONETHELESS, the story's good enough and the casts are amazing, most especially the good-looking male lead. And, of course, I loved the relationship between the two main leads. It was so cute, beautiful and... heartbreaking. I wasn't too sad though. because I know, in the end, those two would always find each other, as they've always done. I also loved the father-son relationship between the reaper and his son.

The OSTs used in this drama are my personal favourites. 'Just for my Love' by Kim Hyun Joong is always on repeat.

I have to rewatch this again, I was not focused when watching it. Too many back-and-forth scenes which totally got me confused. I didn't understand the concept of this drama. I do know that time stopped for me also. I don't have anything to say wrong about the actors and actresses in this piece but I do love the main lead Kim Hyun Joong. I have to apologize to the team when I watched it again. I will make sure that I focus on each episode. The War in Ukraine has my mind all messed up for now. Please don't rate this review.

The story line not clear, no chemistry between leads. I dont care about KHJ personal issues. Just watched this because I think the title pretty interesting. I like the other similar drama time traveller.
First few ep was slow but I like when he stops time, I assumed the god not the only powerful, I thought he might be god (on holiday) or sumthin. Apparently he was prev grim reaper. Aw ok thats make me dissapointed
The kissing almost felt nothing! Lol
Seems 2 strangers got kissed accidentally no chemistry at all unlike secretary kim, I hate drama that lacks of chemistry. Because I’m a big fan of romcom.
Not recommended for a romcom fans. Maybe more like gyeop jeong mellow fans ????

The story of this drama is interesting yet I find it boring. I think it's because of the actors and actresses. The chemistry lacks something between the 2 main leads. In my opinion Moon Joon Woo (Kim Hyunjoong), and Kim Sun-ah (Ah Ji Hyun) don't look good together, they give me the siblings energy type rather than a couple vibe. The female lead looks better with Choi Insub (Lee Sihoo). Some things about the story confuses me to. The main leads are cute but uninteresting to watch.

I'll just give it a 5/10. I believe that the story of this drama is really promising but the acting or rather just the actors and actresses are just not it (the side characters though are a little bit fine).
