Aya Kito is a japanese girl with a life like all others. Lately some changes has started happening around her everyday life. This movie is the 100% true story of a sick girl, Its based on the Diary of Aya Kito. The Movie was from a different perspective than the original drama as The drama was more added on too and held characters who weren't in the movie.
I Think the actors all did a pretty good job. Aside of my point of view where I Thought The Drama actors would be starring in the movie aswell.. They did a good job and managed to win me over. As for the music, It wasn't a music drama so it didn't really contain too much music. The Music that was there to be found, Were good though.. I gave the music an 8.
I really liked the movie for the atmosphere it has too it. The fact that the story is true only makes it all the more unbearable. Its a really good movie allthough the pace is slow at some points, I'll have to say I don't think the story could have been any better..
Its a good movie, Aswell as the drama is a must watch.
I'd recommend people who like more serious stories to watch this series.. The Movie might start of slow, But It will have you crying by the time you reach the storys end.
R.I.P Aya Kito..

Story: This movie is just as profound as the drama was. I don’t want to say that the movie was more serious (they both are) the movie just didn’t have a male lead to look after. Here, we watch Aya struggle on her own, with only her family and the help of a few friends. There’s not much more I can say as this movie is just as amazing as the drama. I cried nearly as much (partly because I knew what was going to happen) and also because of some of the struggles the drama didn’t portray. Despite being based off of the diary of the real Aya Kito, both the drama and the movie are brilliant in their own ways and really make you appreciate being alive.
Music: Brilliant. This soundtrack has been on my ipod for a year now. It’s one soundtrack that you will never get tired of listening to.
Cast/Acting: In my personal opinion I think Asae Oonishi did a better job portraying a sick character. While Erika was brilliant I believe you see more of Aya’s stuggles with Asae. I think it’s because, even though she has friends, Asae had to portray her struggling on her own. Not to mention she had to do five years condensed into one movie and not portrayed in an 11 episode drama. I think that in itself was a struggle in which, as an actress, she overcame and did wonderful. She also played Asumi, Aya’s roomate at the disability school, in the drama and did a wonderful job there.

For one, it is based on a REAL person's life. Aya had her whole life in front of her, she had an amazing future waiting. And yet, what she thought was "being clumsy" turned out to be one of those diseases that slowly and progressively takes everything away from you.
This movie made me realize that tomorrow is indeed too late. It showed me that something can go wrong when everything is going well. And it showed me that, even at the hardest times in life, you can find strength to pull through. Aya has surely done so! She has never given up, she always tried her best to be positive and love the little things that she could still do.
She is a role-model :) I highly recomend this movie and also the drama.

The performance by the cast is spectacular as they really draw you into their characters heart and leave you feeling as if they were someone so dear to you by the end of the movie, especially the main character.
I have watched many movies yet this is a movie who's story line will always stay in my heart and i have watched it time and time again.
Also due to this movie there are certain songs i can not listen to without tearing up.
Not to go into depth about this movie i do suggest that if you plan to watch this please understand this movie is a very realistic movie that has a message to get out. It will make you feel horrible yet grateful and if you have watched this movie you will understand why.
This movie is one of the most highest rated movies in my book as there are not many stories that can leave you with so many emotions. I recommend this movie to anyone but maybe avoid young children as it they may not understand the complex story.
Please enjoy this movie as i have.

Very bad acting and everything is pushed forward so fast.
I recomend you to go and watch "1 Litre no Namida (2005)" series. It's very good.
But this movie... don't waste your time on it.

The drama is so much better
I'm going to be honest the drama was much better. People might say that the movie is better because it's not romanticizing Kitou Aya's story but I believe that even if it is romanticized I think the drama is so much better. The drama talks more about her story than the movie and the acting is much much better. The movie was low budget and very rushed compared to the drama. So, I think that the movie deserves a 6. If they had gotten a better cast and had a higher budget, I think that it could be a 10. However, we already have a drama to which I think is a 10.Was this review helpful to you?

- Very heart-warming and inspirational story
- Optimistic and lovable protagonist
- Purposeful and deliberate movie
Criticisms:
- Presentation appears low-budget and older
- Progression jumps abruptly near end
- Pacing is slow
I really enjoyed the film and even think of it now (weeks after seeing it). The story is great! I love how the main character deals with her struggles with an optimistic outlook.
It really made me value my blessings and reflect upon my personal friendships/relationships. That is special.
I would recommend this to anyone. It is meaningful and may even help you evaluate your own views on life.

I do not know what is it, if it's my familiarity with the story, but I didn't cry at all. I swear I am not heartless and I am usually really moved by films like these but really it didn't happen this time.
It could be just me but I can see how the drama surpasses the film, both in production and acting. If you are to pick this title for the first time, I suggest the drama first.
All in all, it wasn't a waste of time, it just didn't live to my expectations.

I appreciate how the film didn't include a romantic storyline, because that's the one thing about the drama I was never a big fan of, but if you have to choose between the drama and the film, I definitely think the drama is the better option. It flashes out Aya's life more properly, her goals, friendships and family, while the film, because of its short runtime, focus more on the progression of her illness, ignoring her life prior to the diagnosis.
