The Effect (2019)

Both will break your heart but you can't stop watching.
Night Flight is just as brutal as Effect but it's a bit more nuanced where Effect is more guilty pleasure.

Absolutely amazing film Double Mints will forever be ranked high on my list.
It has flawed characters that are trying to make sense of the darkness in their lives.

Themes of depression and suicide, overly protective parents, situation where a teen feels out of control.

Both dramas highlight a toxic relationship between two students. In these toxic relationships, both series show the ex of the main character is not wanting to move on and harassing them. Both series show how the actions of the toxic ex is negatively affecting the life of the main character and how the main character deals with the situation they are in. They both also incorporate mature topics such as harassment, SA, etc.
I do think 'The Effect' is a little bit more intense than 'Dinosaur Love'.

Both dramas deal with rape/sexual assault in a realistic, non-romanticized way. Each drama touches on responses, including healing, from the victim and perpetrator, parents, and wider community. Cyberbullying is a theme explored as well.

Psychological trauma....Type in the series TharnType has experienced sexual rape/molestation as a child and it has traumatized him and his feelings towards gay males. He experiences an emotional breakdown, which was triggered by his roommate Tharn, who while Type was drunk forced himself onto Type. By doing this, Type starts to fall apart.

Similar themes of young adults, love, their lives and interactions with eachother and social media.

Both of these are short dramas focused on the dark side of social media. They both explore how social media and the exploitation of nonconsensual sexual photos can lead to the ruining of someone's life.
