For a comedy, it was solid, with many funny scenes that can actually make you laugh. And the whole story, even though rediculous, actually made sense. For a horror movie, well, it wasn't a horror movie. Even for me who can't stand the genre and can get scared easily, it wasn't scary at all. The vibes were good though and the atmosphere nicely presented.
The conclusion was good as well, although kind of cliche and cheesy. But I guess it suited the movie.
So, seven out of ten.

A really funny and refreshing comedy slash horror film that was mostly comedy
So this movie is about the carefree Gin and how he gained two unlikely friends, Little Princess and Lu Qun, by "accidently" saving them from a bully. Since then, both of them tagged along with Gin, even to the point of following him all the way to his grandparents' hot spring hotel.Maybe I haven't watched as many comedy films before, especially Taiwanese ones, but this movie was a comedic masterpiece! There'd always be something to laugh about at least in every other scene, and it's not just your simple giggle but a full-blown belly laugh! More than a horror film, the comedic elements are what got to me tbh. They don't try too hard to be funny, it's just naturally funny, and I'm all for that :") Another thing that I loved and which actually brought me in, in the first place, was the bromance between Gin and Little Princess.
Just to be clear, this film was no way a BL (sad tbh) but it had really good bromance. And for me, that's a selling point. I'm bought! But for real though, I really liked the relationship between the trio. They were a hilarious trio. Chemistry between them were on point!
I honestly wasn't expecting much, seeing as this was my first Taiwanese movie, but I haven't laughed this much in such a long time, simply from an almost 2 hours long movie. Kudos!
Fyi, my music rating was a 1.0 'cause there really wasn't any music? If there was, it was only just the background music, I guess.

I found this on Netflix and decided to watch it since I am quite fond of horror/comedy fusions, one of my favorite movies is "Chilling Romance" after all. Sadly, it wasn't what I was hoping for and I am disappointed even though I told myself not to expect anything from it.
This was basically just a silly movie, with silly acting, and not really horror (unless you are a lightweight). If you are into this kind of genre or you just want some light "horror", you will probably enjoy it, but for me the cliched horror/comedy elements in this type of fused movie fell flat. I had hoped they would make more of the theme than what they did. If I am honest, it boring since even the humor in it didn't even as much tickle my humor much less made me laugh. Although, the story did have potential they didn't know how to make it work.

So Underrated.
I have never written a review on this website despite the large amount of dramas and movies I have watched. However, I felt obligated to write a review for this movie. I absolutely loved this film. The combination of humor and heartfelt moments was perfect. If you are looking for a movie that makes you laugh and cry, this is the one. I have no idea how I got so invested in an asshole protagonist and his two absolute dorky friends, but I did. And I definitely believe you will, too. Their facial expressions were incredible. The story is unique and keeps you guessing and the comedic moments are definitely moments I would love to watch again. It's the type of movie that you'd be excited to sit down and watch again with someone who hasn't seen it before. It's a great movie to watch with friends. I truly wish it would get the attention it deserves. Was this review helpful to you?

A fun movie with good amount and really funny humor & horror.Nothing really special but still a good movie.
Acting/Cast: Acting was good. No annoying female lead and romance. That's good for me because I hate romance. XD
Feel in love with Xiao Gin.
Music: well was their music? I can't remember xd
Rewatch value: I probably watch it again. Not in the near future but if I don't have anything else to watch why not.
Well the best thing of this movie is for me the humor I was laughing half of the time xd
Hope I can see more of Zhang Ting Hu's acting in the future. After that movie I am 100% following is process and work.

great sense of humor
One of my favorite recent watches. More funny than scary for most of the movie, but has plenty of decent suspenseful moments where you can really feel the tension. Has a great ambience and cinematography. The actors are great too. The physical comedy is top tier. I was genuinely laughing through a lot of the film.
The plot isn't bad and is fairly original. Overall pretty great. Loses maybe half a star for being a bit cheesy at times but honestly that just adds to the humor. Would recommend to anyone.

definitely more of a comedy than a horror
This movie is really goofy from like the minute it starts all the way until the end credits scenes. It made me laugh so many times; there's really funny physical humor, lots of great one-liners, the makeup in several scenes made me giggle, and the actors were just amazing with pulling off fear and hilarity. Honestly, with the story, I could guess a lot of it (tho admittedly the Truth of it all did surprise me) which isn't a bad thing, but I think with a different cast it would've been a lot more boring. The three boys as well as the grandparents and "Little Suzuki" were perfect in their roles. The music was fine, I didn't really feel that moved by it either to laughter or anything else. Another criticism I had is that sometimes the really emotional scenes feel out of left field, or aren't given more than a few seconds to hit before it was already moving on. I enjoyed anyway, but I did notice it and it was a little distracting. Also, while I am queer and a lot of the gay jokes were funny, I wish it could've been handled maybe a little differently. Idk I have mixed feelings about that aspect.
General rewatch value is probably higher than I rated it for myself, because once you know the ending it would def be fun to look back and see all the hints. But personally idk if I'll be rewatching, at least not any time soon. Maybe when I need a pick me up.
Worth a watch for sure, but don't go into this expecting a horror--you will only find a comedy.

100% Fun.
If you are craving for something "funny", then this movie is perfect for you. I literally paused it at certain parts cause I was unable to control laughing.I began this after seeing that this movie had the same director as "Oh no! Here Comes Trouble", which had the perfect mix of mystery, bromance and comedy.
Secrets of The Hotspring gives you the exact same vibes, though it leans more towards comedy.
Xiao Gin, a delinquent new student, takes his two "frenemies" to his grandparents' "hotel". Things start to take an ugly turn when both his friends Little Princess and the sleep walking Lu Qun find out that something was very strange in their new getaway. And Gin's grandparents seems to be mysteriously hiding something...
The comedy is what I remember the most out of this, but it does have its share of emotional scenes, particularly for Xiao Gin.
The story is really cliched, but the performance of the actors and its hilarity makes up for it. The bromance between the three is to really cute and I loved watching them grow reluctantly closer.
7.5/10. I knocked off the score due to its predictability, but other than that, this was worth my time.

The horror scenes have been presented well. (Why I say it is presented well even though the story is weak is, recently, I watched some horror movies, which had better story lines than this but the effects were so poor that, it didn't actually make you feel the fear factor. So compared to those, the effects are good). Even though I scored it a 6, if there was a scoring for effects, I would have given an 8 for the horror scenes. The lighting and sound effects are perfect for those scenes. The unexpected( may be it was expected to be unexpected, but was predictable - hence mostly expected) comedy parts here and there cracked me up. I laugh easily so the comedy scenes did make me laugh. I started watching at 12 am and because of the fear factor (I was alone in my room), after 5 minutes, I stopped it and watched it during daytime.
This is a light hearted ghost movie, so watch and enjoy at your own leisure. Who knows? You might enjoy it if you don't have expectations or pre conceived notions about it.

A Comedy Horror Film That Middle School Girls Will Love
This review and my ratings are based on an understanding the intended audience is primarily pre-teen and teenage girls. The three lead guys are boyband attractive and spend a lot of time with their clothes off -- in a modest, G-rated sort of way. The preamble, where the three guys meet, is way too long and doesn't blend well with the haunted house plot. But I give the script high marks for having a logical explanation for what happens. Too often writers pass these old dark house dramas off to unexplained supernatural resolutions, which is no fun for the audience. The real mystery, though, is the Boys Love drama overtones mixed in with so much homophobia. Yan Siang's character's name "Little Princess" is particularly offensive. But, of course, the BL aspect turns out to be a twist ending, in that it's not been one at all. The characters are wildly uneven, but that's consistent with comic haunted house dramas like the "Goosebumps" series and going way back to classic horror-comedies like Abbott & Costello's "Hold that Ghost" or Don Knott's "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken." As such, I have to give the three lead guys top marks for making the best out of such erratic writing. What's more remarkable is the characters are supposed to be 16-22 and all of the leads were over 26 when this was filmed. Maybe the fountain of youth was the secret in that hot spring? Was this review helpful to you?
