“Easy on the eyes and on the heart.”
The chemistry between North Korean Jung Hyuk and South Korean Se Ri was so palpable you’d be fervently wishing for the Korean Reunification to finally happen. Clearly, even Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin felt their strong chemistry that they have now become a real life couple! The $20M budget was put into good use - from the impressive production design in far flung filming locations, brilliant casting of an array of talented actors, and the lucid contributions from behind-the-scenes of an outstanding crew.
I gushed at the romantic scenes, laughed at the comedic parts, cried at the sad moments, got angry and upset, became scared and shuddered. In other words, I got so carried away with their realistic portrayals even if it was a fictional story.
My one and only criticism: The ending could have been more elaborate in order to bolster that the much-beloved “Ri-Ri couple” did indeed, live happily ever after.

I can't believe I cried as much as I did while watching this. Gosh I have so many emotions from watching this and I don't know how to put it into words. This drama made me feel happy yet took me through a roller coaster full of emotions, whether I cried, laughed, smiled, or related to the character, I still wanted to watch more! The plot was awesome and the characters pulled off their job amazingly. I will definitely be watching more drama from the main actress and actor.
This has definitely taken the spot of my most favorite drama, no questions asked.

I’ve actually thought about if I should make a review or not. But it’s already been one week and I still have mixed feelings about this drama.First of all, I want to say that this is my first review but, somehow, I’ve felt that I should do it.
I’ve really liked it from the beginning – which is very rare for me to like a kdrama from the first episode. Usually it takes more than 2 or 3 episodes to decide if I like it or not. But this drama had indeed something special. The cast was amazing, and from my point of view it has everything that a drama should have – romance, comedy and action.
Maybe what made me feel to really like it from the start it was the fact that I love military uniform (and when I saw captain Ri in his coat, I was literally fangirling), or it was the chemistry between Se Ri and captain Ri. I honestly don’t know, but what I know for sure it’s that I really recommend this drama.
Ri Jung is my type of man – protective, ambitious and charming. The love story between him and Se Ri it was so pure and emotional. They had a lot of difficulties, but they’ve got through them together.
On the other hand, I really wanna talk a little about Dan. She is very independent and strong, which made me to like her. Even if at the beginning I didn’t like her (because of her engagement with Ri), after some episodes, I was of the opinion that she’s actually really nice and her character is very well-writen. She’s very sophisticated and refined. For me, the ending it was just too much when it comes to Dan. I think that it was really unfair what happened because she obviously deserved better. It was really unexpected for me.
Anyway, I think that I’ve said what I wanted. Of course, I won’t forget about Ri’s team, and how funny they were (especially Chi Su), or Joo Muk’s cute addiction with k-dramas. Should I also mention Park Bum’s handsome charm? It was a very special team, and their bond with Se Ri was so precious.
Also, the OST’s are just so good. I already have some songs that I constantly listen.
Overall, I really recommend this drama. I think that everyone should see it at least once in their life.

Love transcends all restrictions.
This is my first time writing a review for a show I watched, so you can assume CLOY was a swoonworthy watch for me. I'd say I have been in a kdrama slump before I discovered this masterpiece, and I'm still not over it. I already tried rewatching my favorite moments. I usually would mind rewatching films, but I have no problem with rewatching this a million times. This is a kdrama OG that everyone should check out. It deserves the hype. I became queen of tears while watching. The tropes are found-family, romcom, and forbidden love. And touch her & you die. While I do agree that the portrayal is not entirely accurate and that life in the North, in reality, is much more brutal with less leniency toward a traitor, CLOY still is an excellent execution for me. It broke my heart when the comrades were so wow away by Seri's house: an endless amount of electricity, running water, and warmth. But I had an enjoyable time watching. I was kept on the edge of my seat as the show progressed. I even got scolded by my mom because I was staying up late, unable to resist continuing the next episode.Se Ri is a girl boss. She's a heiress with a charming personality--funny, chatty, and open; she's the opposite of what I would expect rich businesswomen whose fate ended up in NK to act like. She was self-sufficient until she had nothing in the North. But she still made something out of nothing and enjoyed the small moments of life. No wonder she not only captivated the village ladies but also the man whose face was her ideal type. She's very sweet to the comrades. I found comfort in those moments when they surrounded her. It's fortunate she had parents who supported her. Especially her dad who did not root for her death. Her mom also loves her dearly, it just took Se Ri time to realize how big that love is.
If Jeong Hyeok wasn't a captain, he would have shone way brighter and sexier in Switzerland. I live for his pout. His protective instinct always proves useful in dangerous situations; his quick-to-act personality and intelligent mind have come in handy in protecting Seri and his comrades from the bad guys. Se Ri was a perfect addition to his life; she made it more colorful. He thought he could've continued a life without dreams until Se Ri transformed it in the best way possible and he was able to resume his piano pursuits. His brother's incident definitely made him repress himself, until he met Se Ri. At first, it was just physical attraction like during his Switzerland trip with Dan witnessing her ridiculousness. Until later fate reconnected them after Se Ri paraglided into NK. It wasn't until the Pyongyang trip that he realized he was drawn to her. They both saw each other's vulnerability multiple times and comforted each other. I'm no chemist but their relationship speaks so much chemistry, that it's enough to light up NK. Can't forget about them caring for their plants!!!
I love the squad so much!! Including Man Bok. I'm glad he decided to be on their team, overcoming his obedience to Cheol Gang. I'm still not over how they'll never see Se Ri again or know how she's doing. I love all the fried chicken dining, gaming, and basically team bonding moments. I still can't believe what happened to Seung Jun. He and Dan were going to be end games. She isn't an open character, but he understood her so well.

The leads shared extraordinary chemistry and the pacing of the show was well-done! There was a time when I thought it was dragging for a bit, but then again, this is the first Korean show I watched and had set the bar very high. This is coming from someone who has watched American and British shows/movies all her life. This show is pure gold!
What a treat Korean cinema is!

This was not seriously what I was expecting!! I really really didn't expect the story to be this good? seriously not a easy rom-com!! A little roller coaster of emotions were portrayed!! There were happy moments, funny moments, moments which made u sad and almost wrenched your heart, moments when u had butterflies ?☺️? Really it was something..The casting or cinematography or the actors ,ost all was on point.. Not even a single episode was there where I felt the story line was dragged or its becoming boring...No everything was perfect.. Really didn't expect it to be this good..Crash landing on you (Cloy) really really mesmerized me..At first I thought it would be some regular stuff story where the heroine will be somewhat spoiled egoistic lady and get struck in North Korea and would piss the ml to leave the place..The very first impression of the heroine was like that?I generally thought the story would be like that but no rather she was silly and good hearted... Really the heroine landing in North Korea and again ml protecting her in North korea and when he came to South Korea to save her from the villain without even thinking of the consequences ..That he was in South Korea where he shouldn't enter..But saving his lady his love of his life was his only goal..Even if he has to die?All these things just melted my heart.. The side characters too, all all were simply perfect..The troop members of the ml in his military those guys all were so good, even the ajhumas in North Korea ? those ladies ..especially I like the bond of the ml and the fl and those troop members of the ml?how they respected their boss the ml and how they cared for Yoon se ri..All was so good.Definitely I must say the last 2 episodes were heart wrenching..Like I can never forget where seriously I shed tears!!So emotional it was the last 2 episodes; the ml ( Ri Jung hyeok leaving the fl Yoon se ri) and the death of go seung Joon the second lead..I really didn't expect this end of the second ml and FL!! But I think that was what to be the most relatable end for the second leads considering the first leads Ri Jung hyeok and Yoon se ri they also didn't have a happy ending to the last..Only the fact that how in every 1 year she would visit Switzerland for two weeks and spend time with ri Jung hyeok; so yea something understandable and realistic end..Becoz both of them can't enter each other territories!! the fact she meet the ml after 2 and half years like that I didn't get the point like he was in Switzerland so seperate from North Korea ,South Korea ,so I guess he could have used social networking sites to contact Yoon se ri there were many ways to contact her but the writers didn't show us like that..I think that could have been done and even he could have called her from Switzerland or contact her through social networking sites..But I guess that's what made the story more beautiful and heart wrenching both of them were ready for waiting for each other the fl going Switzerland every year but didn't see him unless after her 2nd year? All these made the story more beautiful ❤️ Coming to the second leads I like literally cried seeing his death ??? he didn't get anything from his life and the scene where he said that he was a orphan and just like the child beggars on the street when they sang the song he also has nobody; nobody would cry for him even if he dies and the fact that the second fl (SEO Dan) was the one ,he also has a person who will cry for him when he dies made him happy and sad too!! That part really like really wrenched my heart????I literally cried at that scene..I can't tell how much I liked this how..At first I really didn't liked the second leads but as episodes passed by and when their chemistry evolved ..I really started to admire them..But at the end when the second ml died I literally shed tears ?I wish the second leads could also have got a somewhat proper ending..But I think that was what more realistic the second lead to die; becoz either way they were not going to have a happy ending..Even if he survived he had to leave SEO doon..Either way the couple wouldn't be re-united.So it was sad..And so the writers end his character and the seo Doon taking the decision for staying alone forever in her life with the love she has received the love she has in her heart for goo seung Joon...That's what it makes more beautiful and heart wrenching. Really a good and excellent drama..I really wish they bring a season 2 with the same cast all the 4 leads together and maybe with a proper ending for both the leads.. Excellent drama, every body should watch it..I guarantee you; you will fall in love with the drama???The story line, actors and the beautiful ost oh my good!!that was also beautiful all are just pitch perfect ???Ri Jong hyuk ?Yoon se ri bittersweet love story was what made the story so so good..Even go seung Joon ?SEO Dan? simply loved it Was this review helpful to you?

You're gonna love it ❤
the show was so amazing. You are surely going to laugh and cry and feel happy. I went Into watching this drama with the intention of just watching something light and fun but noo I got the opposite. I am now afraid nothing will be able to hold a candle to this drama . I felt so happy every time I watched it. I was so sad when it ended. I wanted more cute scenes with them but then I realized it was just enough. the ending is beautiful and actually so realistic and it still made me smile. I was so happy for the main couple. The side couple made cry as well the show is just beautiful. give it a shot. Was this review helpful to you?
The Main Actors Have Such Great Chemistry!
I'm not one to usually write a review on a Kdrama I have watched so believe me when I say that this drama was really worth reviewing. First off, let me just say that I do not know much about North Korea(Only bits and pieces) but even I can tell that they did an amazing portrayal of both North and South Korea's differences. All the characters are fleshed out and have great stories. Let me also add that this Kdrama succeeded in getting me to feel how they intended me to feel. When something sad happened I got sad, when something funny happened I actually laughed, and when there was a romance moment I got all fuzzy inside like the character. I once again want to say that the chemistry between the two main leads was undeniable, you would almost believe that they are both dating in real life. I also loved the music, they did a great job at making sure that the music fit with the mood that they are going for. The last point I want to make is that Ri Jeong Hyeok's(Hyun Bin) comrades in the army were very interesting. There wasn't a moment I was bored watching them. Every time they would come on screen I felt like I was right there with them laughing and having a good time. Overall, a very wonderful Kdrama maybe even one of the best I ever have seen, I will definitely be watching it again sometime in the near future. Was this review helpful to you?
Warning! If you are planning on watching this go grab yourself a box of tissues, although one box probably wouldn't be enough.....
I wasn't expecting much from this drama, as I saw their cast was quiet old so I made the assumption that this would be another one of those dramas that the older audience would enjoy watching...But let me tell you, I was soooo wrong. I enjoyed every episode right from the start, it was an emotional roller coaster. The storyline is good and well developed. None of the cast was annoying, naive etc. I thought the ending would be like romeo and Juliet but thank goodness the ending was actually decent. This is definitely one of my favorite Kdramas of all time. It's because of dramas like these that I cannot find a man that can fit my standards. Now it's probably gonna take me another year to find a drama that can top up this one.

Humorous and poignant contrasts between NK & SK...kind of a love letter to the Korean people
Yes, it is blatantly implausible and swings wildly between genres - but there is so much to like between lovable characters, romance with tons of chemistry, and both humorous and poignant contrasts between North Korea and South Korea. I was new to K-Dramas on my first watch so it really made an impression, but it continues to stand out as kind of a love letter to the Korean people and how heartbreaking it is to be so completely cut off from each other. The composer gets an A++ for this soundtrack. Was this review helpful to you?
nothing is stronger than love
Wow. It is just wowI am so amazed right now, this kdrama is just so amazing. They showed me the value of love, the value of friendship, the value of everything. I realized that when someone loves a person they are willing to do everything (I mean everything) they can. The chemistry between the actors made me feel so warm, the hardships they all have been through, the sleepless nights, the power of friendship and love made everything stronger and made miracles to happen. To be honest this kdrama owns such a special place in my heart, the kdrama shows us how unexpected things can always happen and to be prepared for the worse, but also not to forget how amazing everything at the end can be,and this is all the power of love people have for each other. I am so happy that I watched CLOY because it made so happy. The love can beat the death, and this is what amazed me the most. Wow.

Late review of CLOY
I watched quite a lot of dramas, but this one will definitely remain my top favourite.Plot: I found it interesting, because of the description. I love military mixed with romance so if you are looking for something like this then it's a must watch! The story is beautiful I wasn't bored at all while watching CLOY, I wanted to watch it slowly, but in the end I completed this series in 3 days.
Cast: OMG... This is literally a show in which I loved every character and especially main leads, because of this show I can't even look at their different pieces, for example I was watching Secret Garden yesterday cos I never got a chance and I couldn't finish it, I was just imagining Soon Ye-Jin with Hyun Bin and the same goes for Spellbound. They are just meant to be, sorry but I'm honest. I hope they will have another drama or movie together.
Music: Okay I loved the music here especially OST, I love Yoon Mi Rae because of Descendents Of The Sun so I was very happy to hear her song Flower in this series and the piano was perfect.
Rewatch value/Overall rating: I will definitely rewatch this when I will forget a little, because this is really something different and special for me. If you didn't watch it yet you should, it won't disappoint you.
PS: Sorry for late review I didn't get a chance to watch it sooner.
