Yesterday I have finished this drama and I must say I cried a lot. This drama managed to do a great job in building up a plot storyline. When I first read about this on Netflix, I put it in my watchlist and actually forgot about it. But after some time I decided that I wanted to watch it. The plotline was very interesting because I have never watched anything about a love (forbidden) love story between a North Korean and South Korean. The drama took me on a rollercoast full of emotions of the ML and I really felt as if it happened for real (ofcourse it could never, as if there are could never happen something like "accidentally crashing" in North Korea).
Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin did an amazing job, they had really good chemistry and were made for this role. I just cannot stop thinking about their (on screen) chemistry and about the tears they created for me hahaha. I just loved it!!!!!
As of the SL they were amazing, they were really supportive to the ML, the actors did a great job.
I think this drama gave a good overview of how the people in South Korea think about North Korean people and about their living habits etc etc.
Overall this drama is in one word amazing. I definitely recommend this to all of you, it will give you a fresh view of the typically standard dramas nowadays.

Everything in on drama
I started watching K dramas bcz of crash landing on you. Each upcoming episode brought something new. There was suspense, there were emotions, there were good dialogues and among all the best chemistry among the couple. Also loved the twists. The supporting characters were soo good. I liked how their was longing until the end,no knowing what might happen. That made the experience worth while. I have watched multiple K dramas after watching Cloy but honestly it still haven’t left my mind. The dialogues, the emotions and even the scenery was dreamy. Was this review helpful to you?
Crash Landing on You main leads are Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin. That’s a perfectly heart-throbbing choice for itself, but their looks and acting look the best here. Both their characters - Captain Ri and Yoon Se-ri - are unforgettable, interesting and leading people in their fields, while also sharing a soft and very funny side underneath. They are so protective of each other, it’s just too touching. Actually, most characters and their human connections in this drama are very richly developed and the second main leads - Kim Jung-hyun and Seo Hi-jye - are a great example of that. Their character development in the second half of the story were surprisingly moving and heart-warming, which almost made me fell like the writing on the main leads was getting behind it.
About the writing - it’s the most skilled drama writing I’ve watched so far. There are so many profound moments, the humor is spontaneously funny - get ready to have lots of laughs with so many characters, specially the ducklings, the love details are so gently created. I did felt there was an overuse of the flashbacks and a sort of artificial insistence on some fate lines though.
I chose to let the political aspects as only background as I believe it was intended, but it took me some time to get used to the way North Korea was portrayed. We are mostly uninformed about the country’s situation and people’s lives there, so I felt the storyline had hints of propaganda at times - NK as a land of oppression, starvation and corruption, with its citizens sometimes being portrayed as clueless and behind schedule. Opposed to that, we see the freedom and wealth in SK. I was surprised to hear it was accused of romanticizing life in NK - I wasn’t surprised when I read who said it though. On the other hand, we also see such a sensible portrayal of the human relationships there, carefully researched aesthetics and life blossoming in a very human way - the opposite of everything I mentioned before.
That being said, I can tell you that this drama is just a basket of special fond memories you will delight yourself gaining if you watch. The music, the landscapes, the characters, the plot. I know I will rewrite this one day, by now, I just want to endorse the love so everyone is aware of how amazing this drama is ❤️

The character development in this drama is top notch. And I don't just mean the leads and the second couple, I mean every side character got at least a little development too. There were some tropes in the story (that I didn't mind), but when it came to tropes in characterization, there was pretty much nothing. I was especially impressed by the female characters, since they often get shafted in favor of the female lead, but there were no one dimensional evil exes or MILs. All the characters had realistic and understandable motivations. There were a couple I wish we got to learn a little more about, but even the villain's motivations were touched on in a way that made me feel very sad for them.
There are only a couple songs in the OST that I would recognize and listen to again, which is why I took a half point off, but overall the music complemented the show well and I have friends who would give it a perfect 10.
In some ways, it's a typical melodrama romance, but it's also practically perfectly executed, so I would still recommend it to anyone who might not usually like romance or melodrama.
The setting is also very interesting and even though I don't know personally, I've read that North Korean defectors were very impressed by the show's accuracy (except the romance but we should all know that level of romance is kind of unrealistic anywhere lol). The most interesting thing about the show for me was that it made me realize that I don't really think about the people of North Korea very often, I just think about the country's government. I think it did a great job of humanizing the North Korean characters while still not glossing over hardships that face people there.

The story, acting and scenery are all so beautiful in this drama. I thoroughly loved every aspect of the drama and would 10 out of 10 recommend it to anyone. I liked the ending but wanted a little bit more as I wanted to see how they were making it work with one person being from the south and one from the north. From the ending, I've gathered that they live for 2 weeks a year in Switzerland but in all realness, their love story was so beautiful to watch that they should always be together plus I don't think Se ri's heart can take being away from Jung Hyuk for long periods of time. Overall I loved this drama and would watch it again as the story can cater to all audience types. Was this review helpful to you?

Story that cannot decide if it's a comedy, drama, or love story
A show can absolutely be a blend of comedy, drama, and love story, but IMHO not the way it is done here. Most jarringly, some of the comedy is incredibly broad (e.g., when the FL gets captured and tells the North Korean soldiers the wonderful things she has in South Korea). The shifts in tone are also sudden, without a "bridge" to them, which makes it difficult to know how to respond to what is being shown. In terms of the individual show's components:
* The story: The middle bit is (largely) wonderful! The fish-out-of-water FL experiences, the very different individuals in North Korea and their side stories -- handled and acted well. Alas, the beginning and the end (after the FL returns to SK) are not nearly as rewarding. Especially the end. First of all, it's somewhat confusing. Secondly, the theme of "they've-met-before-and-are-fated-because-she-heard-him-play-one-time-years-before" does not work, at least for me. And while the FL being in NK offered some dramatic tension and reward, the North Koreans' stay in SK was treated very much like comic relief and contributed next to nothing to the plot.
* The acting: Somewhat hard to say because of the shifts in tone, but I would say it's a mixed bag all around. However, I blame the story or the pacing of the story for this. In some places the actors are, again, very broad (esp. in the comic bits) and then suddenly shift to more naturalistic high drama. It's difficult to relate to!
* The music: Nice, but not that distinctive or memorable.
* Rewatch value: Nonexistent. I barely made it to the last episode, and mostly because I have read the excellent reviews and was hoping that the show would end on a high-quality note. There are not even any scenes that I want to rewatch (which usually happens).
Bottom line: Lots of people enjoyed it -- and good for them! For me, it is a miss and not a good way to spend one's time.

BLINDED BY HYUN BIN
Alright, I am pretty late found this drama - seems like everyone that I tried to share my intakes to this drama has already watch it way long before me. So, at first I wasn't interested with anything about North Korea but boy...proof me wrong this one. A South Korean heiress slash business executive crash lands in North Korea after her paraglider is caught in a typhoon, end up in North Korea side of the country and meet with the Army captain patrolling the area that's been destroyed by typhoon. Although, he tried to guide her thru back to South Korea, she was lost and went circle in the woods. She happened end up in his house...it's getting funny right then when his subordinates show up at his door; 1 drama fanatic fan, 1 an innocent young soldier, 1 die-hard socialist, 1 a handsome like male model soldier, this four become close confidants and trustee guards/friends.Not only Main Leads are good in their acting but supporting actor are brilliant too....they are enriched the characters. Balance of humor, action/suspense, romance, realistic portrayal of village's people and their life, witty dialog, great OST, friendship as well as dysfunctional family relationship - all thrown in there to become the good CLOY. Although they portrayed the drama in a good light of North Korean life because in reality it's more harsher, also too many coincidental meetings in Switzerland that basically 'nah...' but I was blinded by the charms of Hyun Bin. He's looking good in any clothing; Army uniform, drab brown NK officer uniform, simple shirt and jacket. not too mention all the fancy suits.
I am not going to write more details as many has already done it. For sure I love this drama so much...it becomes classic to me.

There were so many talk about this drama when it came out and I still think it is overrated/overhyped.
It is a good drama but if I were to compare this with Goblin, globin still win my heart for sure.
I love the ending, despite what other may think. It make the story feel more real of how it ended and how they have to travel to see one another.

It isn't only the leads that deseve awards for their acting, the entire cast is marvelous and deserves a round or two for how well they act their parts. I'll be sad when its over.

Watched the whole episodes without breaking into tears.Until they decided to put bits of Your Lie In April soundtrack ( Piano Play)
In the last episode at the last moment which got me at the end.
Hence 10/10 for music.
For me this drama was like any other KDrama. Not bad but Not that great either. Just another okay drama worth your time but not something i would place on the top 10 list or anything like that. I Don't understand why there is so much hype around it ( Maybe cause the other ones are not even up to this standards ). Well i do see that the couples in this drama are absolutely a great match and so is there acting.
