One of my favourite K dramas
This Kdrama was AMAZING!!!!!!! The story line was great and the chemistry between the two lead characters was great. And I loved the second love story on top of the main one. Even though if you have watched the show you know what happens to him . I also wished they kept Seung-joon because he had amazing character development. I also liked how realistic the show was than other k dramas I have watched in the past. The main characters can only see each other 2 weeks in a year. And I like that because it wasn't like Captain Ri magically escaped to South Korea and they lived happily ever after. Even though they do not get married at least they get to see each other and have a house together. But overall amazing story, the acting was great and the show had great shots as well. 10/10 recommend. And I would defiantly re-watch the show! Was this review helpful to you?

The reason for this Drama love affair
UPDATE - just rewatched CLOY in honour of #JinBin. I forgot what a masterpiece this is. I watched it a year ago and it still had me on the edge of my seat, laughing out loud and sobbing my eyes out - the latter was embarrassing. While the story is a little unrealistic, just cast your skepticism aside and enjoy what is a brilliant TV show - of any genre.
All the characters illicit the correct response - be it love or hate (the villain is truly exceptional). This is a beautifully contained series and it will leave you joy in your heart and satisfied.
CLOY was the first KDrama that I watch all the way through and it made me fall in love with this genre.
If you are new to KDrama, then I encourage you to at start with Crash Landing on You. If you've never watched one before then like me, you might find the first episode a bit over the top. On top of that, the episodes are long - between 70-90 minutes each.
If you get past the first episode, what you'll get is the most wonderful story, incredible cinematography, brilliant acting and a glorious soundtrack.
Our leads are amazing and work so well together with amazing chemistry - they are a real couple now :)
The second leads are equally brilliant and a good antagnonist to our leads.
The supporting cast are equally lovable - the captains team as well as the housewives living in the North Korean village.
I know a lot of that life is somewhat glorified, but does touch on what life is liked for those with and without money.
Please give this a watch - you won't regret it.

The story had potential and was unique in it's way (which you obviously can read by reading the summary), I found that the producers/directors and writers repeated certain stories over and over again simply to fill in certain episodes to be at least 16 episodes long, while I wished the production went more in depth to their backstories and families surrounding them to really understand the trouble they've been through and understand the stories/anger of certain characters, which they kept vague and were forced to be guessed by us.
Concerning the actors, the cast was enjoyable and Hyun Bin was definitely one of the key holders in this drama, however I was not a fan of Son Ye Jin playing her role as Yoon Se Ri as everything was just too much in any form of emotion that it simply became ''fake''
The music was nothing to comment about it as it was good and enjoyable and I find the ''rewatch'' value always a difficult thing to judge as I never feel like I want to rewatch a series I have already watched, so I just stick to the note I gave for the series myself.

Tl;dr
Chemistry:off the fricken chart. Omg. And they don't tease us forever until the first kiss or "love you"s. Also loved how both main actors are not the super plastic surgeon molded twentysomethings but seem like normal (ok, not *normal* normal but super attractive) korean people.
Story/characters:
starts out great. NK is gloomy and everything looks rundown and sad. People are portrayed suffering hardships without complaining, the side characters are quirky and loveable, the real villains are EVIL, the rivals are just human too, everything has an honest humble feel to it. Made me google NK intensively and made me wanna punch Kimyongfuck's face even more. Ahhhhhh.
Anyway. Things start looking weird in the second half of this, when they are in South Korea. I mean, online gaming? Getting scolded? Way to destroy the tough ass military character with how dumb it all looks. Wasn't a fan of the kept house hubby. That was also the time the "relationship" seemed cooled off and strange. One would expect passion and desire, but no, we got fried chicken and child safety level browsing restrictions for him. Huh?
And don't get me started on plot holes. I mean, her brother basically confessed to hiring a killer and nobody cares? He walks free. Wut?
Music: cheesy, forgettable
Happy ending? 50/50. it's a cheat.
Rewatch? Nah, but liked the main couple a lot. Please do another drama, you two!

Great acting and story
I really enjoyed this drama even though I hadn’t expected it cause I thought the premise didn’t sound very realistic. The main leads do a great job of pulling you into the story, the chemistry they have with each other is mind-blowing! But other characters are great as well, you will defend get to love them all. The story is quite interesting, it drags a bit toward the end of the drama but the acting and overall production make it work. The ost is not very memorable but pleasant. I would definitely recommend this drama to all romance lovers! Was this review helpful to you?

Not as good as expected
WHAT I LIKED:- Seri : I liked her personality. An independent woman and entrepreneur who is able to distance herself from a crazy family but she is dragged back to them following unexpected events. I thought she was great as a south korean woman lost in NK and she has to establish connections with the villagers, with Captain Ri and his close soldier friends. She was funny doing it but also smiling, smart and open minded. Back in South Korea she acted a bit like a heiress trying any tactics to woo the man she likes to the point she sacrificed herself to save him.
- Ri Jung Hyuk : He as a good character. In the north : a good soldier, good leader of his men and someone with dedication and integrity but after meeting Seri he starts to do weird things and tries to save her and send her back to SK. In the South he was a bit too cold and focused on his mission and supervising his men. He should have enjoyed himself a little bit more like his men did and moreover, he should have decided to man up and do what a grown man would do with a grown up woman like Seri who was only waiting for that.
- Goo Seung Jun: I disliked him at first as a thug with no respect for his men but he slowly revealed an interesting backstory and a good side after meeting Seo Dan to the point he sacrificed himself to save her and redeem himself like that good thing he just met was too good for him. In his next life he met her again but cheated on her with an air stewardess. What an idiot.
- Seo Dan: Same here. Starting from a deluded obsessed fiancée, she revealed herself to be a girl who only craves for real love and she finds a man she can feel close to. Too bad it did not turn so well for them but I was glad she ended with full of hopes of good things to come.
- The bunch of soldiers who forms the squad of Captain Ri: All with funny personalities. They brought a lot of smile.
- The satirical tone used in depicting North Korea and South Korea in an unrealistic, fun and warm way.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE:
- The romance between Seri and Jung Hyuk: I had the feeling that if the story itself is cute but the way it is depicted was too much. They tried to force the romance using repetitive musics, tools, flash backs... It made the romance romantic like a dreamed one and it is nice but I believe more practical and fun depiction when in Seoul would have been better.
- The main villain: In NK his motives are clear and his bad deeds are measurable and he ends up sentenced to jail. And then he is not a rational villain anymore as his only motivation is to harm Captain Ri by chasing Seri back in SK and hurt her. I thought that was a wrong character development as he became a weak and crazy illogical person.
MUSIC: OK
REWATCH: No. Not even some scenes. Many scenes look cute and romantic and others have good action but they look too disconnected or the ensemble form a drama not entertaining enough for me to rewatch it.
OVERALL: I enjoyed the drama like a patchwork of good things but overall and thinking back about it, I don't think it is a great drama or a great story you can keep in your memory or in the hard disk of your computer.

A MUST SEE!! SOOOOO GOOD!!!
This is the first k-drama I ever watched and once I started, I could not stop! The chemistry between Captain Ri and Yoon Seri is off the charts (it's no wonder that they are dating in real life lol)! Their love story really pulls at your heartstrings, but I love their sweet/cute/funny moments together too. The storyline is excellent and moves at a good pace, with many twists and turns. The secondary characters (NK squad, ahjummas & Seri's employees) are case perfectly and bring nice comedic and emotional elements to the drama. In summary, this drama had everything - great storyline and great acting and a perfect balance of dramatic, comedic and action-packed moments. After watching this drama, I was hooked on k-dramas, but this is still my #1. A must-see!!Was this review helpful to you?

hyun bin can crash land on me anytime ;)
Wow I did not expect to like this drama as much as I did! Hyun Bin is a household name in the kdrama world but now I see where he gets his reputation from! <3The chemistry between Son Ye Jin (Seri) and Hyun Bin (Junghyuk) was some of the best I've seen in a kdrama! From their first encounter with Junghyuk's powerful gazes and Seri's light, fun humor I knew this couple would have me hooked. Not to go on a rant but wow Ri Junghyuk has really ruined me. Lol whoever wrote his character and cast Hyun Bin knew what they were doing, what a man! Also this show has one of the best second couple leads I've ever seen in a kdrama, the chemistry between Seo Dan and Seungjun was also amazing! I think the highlight of this drama was amazing characters, and it also had a good mix of comedy, action, and romance.
The comedic timing of the show is unmatched and I think is what makes the first half of the show especially amazing. I started watching the drama because saw a clip of the show on YT and I immediately searched it because the clip was super funny! The chemistry between Seri and the soldiers is amazing and I always laughed whenever they were on screen. Also Seri's personality in general and interactions with other characters almost always leads to a laugh when she is on screen. Having a female lead character that is not only pretty but has a bomb personality is something this drama has perfected and I hope to see more lively female characters in other dramas!
Some parts of the plotline were little iffy for me, like the whole fate plotline was driven too hard. I think with some minor adjustments to the plotline the drama could seem more believable, which I think helps make the chemistry between the characters appear more genuine. Let's not even talk about how she got to NK because that was wild!
I'm not gonna lie, I was not that interested in most of the other plotlines besides the main two couples' relationships. Also towards the 11-13th episodes the whole conflict with cho cheol gang was becoming tiresome and dragged out. *SPOILER* tbh for me I got tired of seeing someone ending up in the hospital after getting shot *SPOILER ENDS* I personally would have liked to have seen more screentime with the couples together than some of the action stuff. I think this show had too many villains, like being in North Korea is rough enough but then they added on all these extra plotlines with villains. At a certain point, I kind of got confused on who were the villains, especially on the NK side.
The ending made me feel wistful but I think that it compliments the drama well. I think that as a melodrama the way the characters end up fits the drama's theme. Anyways, overall I think this is a great drama, especially for older kdrama fans, and after you finish I definitely recommend watching behind the scenes on youtube because it is very funny!

This show will always stick with me
**Taken my review from my blog**I thought a lot about doing this and thought... why not!? I watch so many shows lately, why not review them? So here it goes! 사랑의 불시착 (Crash Landing on You) is such a amazing show! I'm actually kinda sad at how much hate it gets, but I totally understand why. But, that's not my place. SoOoOoOoO anyway, this show is NOT finished yet, which is why I put 4/?. I actually thought there would only be like 10 episodes or so but .. netflix updated it last night, I'm guessing and it's showing more, so I won't put a number until I know for sure. Which also makes me wonder why I'm writing a review now instead of waiting until it's done... I'l tell you why! It's because I can't wait!!! Lol I just love this show so much already. I have binged watched this twice already since I have discovered it. I just love the story line and the chemistry between the characters. Don't get me wrong, when I watched episode one, I wasn't a fan. Oof! I was so disgusted with the main character and thought about stopping. But as episode one started wrapping up, I had stopped everything I was doing and was on the edge of my seat like "Oh snap. What's about to happen!?!" and that's all she wrote. I was done for. There wasn't ever a chance for me. Lol Usually I can watch a episode here and there and be fine. Not the cast for this! I HAD to finish every episode they had.
Ya'll... Oh my gosh I'm so dang ready for the new episode to drop in a few hours, I could scream. I know the shit is about to hit the fan and I just KNOW it will end with a cliffhanger and I will have to wait ANOTHER week for the next one. pwihewogiuhewoihgwoei I'm going to die. I need them all! I'm freaking out because I'm wondering, HOW CAN THIS POSSIBLY END?!!?
Yes, I'm screaming that because I mean .... how CAN that situation end? Not well... Will they defy all odds and come out okay in the end? I KNOW not to ever guess with these things. I tried that once, expecting a happy ending and ended up sobbing for nearly a week with my heart ripped out. So now, I'm to scared to even think it will end happy... but... for the sake of my sanity, I really hope it does! *sobs*
Can I just talk about some of the actors though? Kim Ju-Meok (Yoo Su-Bin) is honestly one of my favorite characters. He is just so dang pure and watches as many dramas as I do! Hahaha! Geum Eun-Dong (Tang Joon-Sang) is just soft. I want to put him in a bubble so nothing can every hurt him. And Ri Jeong-Hyeok (Hyun-Bin) that man.. would probably make a nun want to sin. Don't @ me! Hahaha but in all honesty, there are so so so so many great actors in this show that I could be here for hours and hours just going through saying how I feel about them. I only pointed out those 3 for now thought because they are the ones that kept me watching from episode one when I wanted to stop. Lol But any way, this is a show I highly recommend!
12/30/19 Update:
Okay they added episode 5 and 6 and woooo buddy I'm a sobbing freaking mess! Did I NOT tell you they shit would hit the fan?! I called it and also called it leaving on a cliffhanger. Lemme tell you ... the person that told me I needed to watch this... I have the urge to call them sobbing and then kick their ass later. (Okay, not really, but you know what I mean.) I don't think I can wait a week to know what is going to happen. I'M NOT OKAY, FOLKS!! I'm not okay. I'm a gosh damn sobbing mess as I stated before. Someone help me. I can't with this.
Episode 5 I got through... I was mad. I was BIG mad okay. You don't do that to that baby! (You'll know what I mean when you watch it, I call the youngest one "baby" because HE IS A BABY!!) anyway, I got through it. Thinking... like a dumbass... that that would be the *hard* thing... Bihhhhhh nooooooo. I was wrong. That wasn't the episode I needed to worry about like I thought! NO... NO NO NO!!! It was episode 6!!! and going on 7 because fkljvheriuvberiu UGH!!! We know it'll carry on into it. I'ma be all kinds fucked up the next few weeks, ain't I? Till this show is FULLY COMPLETED! Jesus take the wheel. *walks away gross sobbing*
-That's all folks, see you in a week or so when they update. X_X
1/25/2020 Update:
Think it is safe to say there will be 16 episodes. Will we actually get them all? Gosh I freaking hope so! But there are rumors going around saying the network will be sued. Why? For the most stupid reason. *facepalm* I want to say why, but I really don't want to step on toes. But anyway, on with the show! Episodes 7 through 10 have been out for a little over a week now - yeah yeah I know. I didn't update as soon as I watched them. But do you have ANY idea of the dying whale noises that have been leaving my body over these episodes?! I wish, I WISH, I could say that I was kidding. But holy crap. These episodes have been slam pack loaded with SO MUCH that there has barely been enough time to breathe. If you watch this show, around these episodes are the ones you might want to load up on snacks and no drinks. NONE. Because you won't want to pause it.... The snacks will probably be left uneaten until the end of episode 10..(So far. Who knows, they might not be eaten by 11 either. Only time will tell!) Either way, they will make great comfort food when you are sobbing at the end.
I want to take a moment to mention I love how they threw BTS in there. I bout lost my mind between shook and fangirling my head off. I loved it and the scene it came up in had my giggling like a child it was so good. Lol
Ahhh there is just SO MUCH that I want to say about all of this but also that I know I can't say because they are such important and needed parts that I don't want to give anything away.
I'm so ready to see how this comes out because I just know I'm going to be a ball of emotions! I'm not ready but also so ready I think I may lose my mind.
2/8/2020 Update:
Episodes 11 and 12 have possibly been the most calm episodes while simultaneously being the most tense episodes ever. How that is possible I have no idea. But they were. So much happened in these episodes that I'm still freaking out. Here is the thing about these 2 episodes that scare me though... They BOTH had answers. They both didn't leave with cliffhangers. Which makes me feel like the crap is about to hit the fan sooooo bad!! I'm scared. X_X I'm not ready for the new episode yet I am. (It drops tonight so hopefully I can watch and review it.) Or I might put it off for a few days when I am mentally stable... But lets face it, I can never actually wait, can I? LOL! Y'all this show rughiwurgpwurgugiwurbgiurw OMGGGGGGGG *walks away gross sobbing*

This should be in everybody's top 3 dramas, i've watched it 3x
CLOY set the standard for romance dramas for me. It was my first, so i kind of set myself up for disappointment since nothing else quite measures up to this lovely romance drama.Yoon Se-ri is an intelligent, strong, independant CEO who crashes into the DPRK while testing a product for her company. She's been mistreated by those around her - including her family, which serve as the main antagonists for our story. We all know it gets competitive - and sometimes deadly - in chaebol families, but Seri does not let this affect her. She is a resilient woman who pushes her way to success in spite of the snakes surrounding her. So, when unforseen circumstances arise during the testing of a parachute (c'mon, how cool is this chick?) she ends up literally crash landing into the arms of our stoic male lead, Captain Ri Jeong Hyeok, in the dangerous bordering country of North Korea. In the most basic sense, the show is about how Yoon Seri navigates this dangerous land and tries to make her way back to South Korea. In a broader sense, this show is about the longing Koreans feel for reunification, and the difficulties posed by people who have loved ones on the opposite side. They may speak the same language and have some similarities, but the across the border is another world, completely unknown to the other. Part of CLOY's charm is in the small details, and watching pampered rich girl Seri making her way in a much more difficult life which she is not accustomed to, and learning with her that there is more to Captain Ri than meets the eye. The reverse is also true when soldiers of the DPRK get to experience capitalism for the first time. It's hilarious at times and endearing. I truly enjoyed Captain Ri's troop of soldiers as well, these characters had me rooting for them all the way, first seeing seri as a burden then warming up to call her a sister. The character arcs are also really well written, the motivations are clear, and the loyalty/deep affection the group has for one another is what made me keep watching this drama over and over.
Hyun Bin is incredibly handsome and dapper, while son ye-jin is gorgeous with a contagious smile. Finding out afterward that these actors are married IRL was honestly icing on the cake. The chemistry is the best i've ever seen on-screen. I was also rooting for our 2nd leads romance, everyone did so well in this production that i was absolutely hooked from the first episode.
This is one that i'll always recommend. It explores difficult topics such as grief, depression, and suicide, while putting a spotlight on life in the DPRK and the longing of reunification by south korea. CLOY's got all the best ingredients: action, romance, suspense, betrayal, lighthearted moments of comedy, tests of friendship, and resilience. Give it a try!!!

Crash Landing Just Right
"I got on the wrong train, and that very train brought me here. It brought me to the place I've yearned to come every morning and night. It brought me to my destination." — Captain Ri.This quote really hits me hard :')
Okay let's review this, I'll try my best not to spoil anything
This is an almost flawless drama, but sadly it's always the latter episodes that "ruins" it. Not that bad though.
First and foremost the casting of this drama is the main thing about this drama for me
Yes, I'm talking about Son Ye Jin, I can explain to you why I'm interested in this drama just because of her being the female lead here, but it's a story for another time.
Let's talk about the great acting which I gave 10/10 score first
Initially, I'm only interested in the main leads acting, but who would've thought that the 4 Army Guys (especially Pyo Chi Su xd) is actually the most interesting and I'd say the most vital part about this show, if it weren't for these guys, this show would totally flop.
Here I will explain why it'd flop really hard (especially on the latter episodes)
The MAIN reason is characterization of the villain (Jo Chul Gang), It's too one dimensional and he keeps doing unreasonable things just to escalate the story. I know they kinda explain why he did such things, but it's too much of a stretch to say the least. To put it simply, it's getting boring every time he does that.
And second, we don't get to see much of our second lead, it's too disappointing because they have unique background and personalities, such wasted potential.
Despite all that, I still love this show mainly because I love seeing the interaction between the cast and the music is great, oh and the shooting places are beautiful <3 <3
