The mysterious death of Wu Mei Niang's newborn daughter sparked a vicious rumor that it was a murder committed by the childless Empress Wang Ni Jun. To help clear the Empress' name, her former lover Ming Chong Yan and her old friend Helan Xin Er came to palace to investigate the mysterious death. They soon found out that the child's death was only the tip of the iceberg to a sinister plot to usurp control of the palace. I really enjoyed this drama. My main problem is about all the face masks, I don't think there is any that good now in days. I like how this version sees the little princesses death. Wu Meiniang is very smart and fair ( expect maybe when she's jealous of other women ). I think He Lan Xi'er's backstory in the end was very weird and unnecessary. I like the Wang empress too, especially about what she chose for her son. The emperor made me very angry when came Qing Luan, Costumes were beautiful but I find it rather boring, the scenery is the same.
