This movie has laughter and heartache. It moved me in a way that I'm still trying to digest. The story is simple, but well done. I did become frustrated at one point and almost quit watching it. It is due to the jerks that are in this movie. I really hate some of the characters. However, the kids and the nice village people more than make up for it.
Song Joong Ki keeps surprising me with his acting skill. After this and Innocent Man, I will no longer think of him as just a pretty face. He didn't have many lines in this movie, but I new everything he was thinking and feeling by the expressions on his face. That is the trademark of a true actor.
Park Bo Young is also a great actress. Her character as Suni was well rounded. I loved her looking through the dog training encyclopedia. She was just so cute while helping Cheol-su.
Yoo Yeon Seok plays asshole to perfection. I truly hated his character, Ji Tae.
The cinematography is fantastic and the music fits perfectly.
I recommend that everyone give this movie a chance.

This was my most favourite Korean movie everrrrrrr. I don't know why, but I just fell in love with it. The story was cute, funny, sad, heart wrenching and very emotional (for me anyway). Of course the story was very unrealistic, however it was very believable (and made me wish I had a werewolf boy too).
Acting/Cast:
The only thing I need to say is: Song Joong Ki. The end. Great actor, I know, I know. He is a pro at capturing the audience's heart. He was also a pro at playing a dog boy, like unbelievably pro, to the extent of almost being a dog boy. I think he is definitely what made this movie so great for me. Of course the female lead was also nice and helped to make the movie great... but Song Joong Ki is the winner.
Music:
It was nice. I don't really remember it that well... but I never do really remember music from movies. All I know is that if the music wasn't good then the movie wouldn't have been as great as it was!
Rewatch?
Yesssss! I think I watched it three times in the same week I first watched it. I had to show my whole family. Even my sister who dislikes watching Korean movies and dramas cried and fell in love with Joong Ki. No joke.
Overall:
This is THE BEST Korean movie (in my opinion). I'm so glad I watched it. It was so nice. I may have lost many litres of tears in the process of watching it, but it was worth it. I recommend everyone watch it. It will only take 2hours of your life and I doubt you will regret it and if you do, I'm sorry that you didn't like it. YES watch it.

The story, although very original, gives you a warm sense of familiarity. Everyone can relate to a story about first love.
The acting was outstanding. By far greater then I ever expected. I found myself at times screaming at the screen in disbelief. I probably used an entire half of a tissue box alone watching this.
I would rewatch this any time. Probably multiple times. And it's one of those movies that you don't have to be into Asian movies to see the beauty of. I recommend it to anyone.
take care ^^

Most of the film is focused through a flashback. It was extremely easy to follow, you knew exactly what was going on and why. The beginning seemed a little bit boring to me but that lasted for 10 or so minutes.
The cast, oh my god the cast. This is the first work I've seen from Joong ki (well completed anyways) and I am completely blown away by his acting in this. He barely had any dialogue but seemed to be acting just as well as everyone else. He really embraced his role. His eyes and facial expressions can say A LOT, literally killing me heart.
This is also my first time watching something with Bo Young in it & wow. I've watched countless movies and dramas were actresses cry and it's just like, oh wow that's so fake it hurts. But Bo Young's crying scenes were great. Everything felt so real. I give her so much credit for her A+ acting. The supporting cast was amazing too. The bad guy, the parents, the children etc. I loved everyones role.
Music was perfect in the sense that they played the right kind of music at the right time.
Overall, such an amazing movie. bawled my eyes at towards the end. The ending left a sort of lump in my throat. (watch and you'll understand). Also would like to add that this movie had some extremely cute parts to where I had to keep rewinding because I couldn't handle Joong Ki's cuteness.
I don't know if i can handle watching this again, but I would definitely recommend this to anyone that's debating on this. Stop, just watch & enjoy.

Story:
When her family moved to a small rural village, Suni discovered a "wolf boy" hiding behind a bush. The girl, now an old woman, has never been able to purge the images of his wild eyes and animal-like behavior from her mind. She recalls teaching the boy how to wait patiently before a meal, to wear clothes, to speak, to write and to behave like other humans so that he could one day live like a normal man. She opened her heart to the innocent boy and he fell in love with the girl, the only person to ever show him affection. However, when threatened, the "wolf boy" let loose his bestial instincts and became the subject of the villagers' fears. In order to save the life of the boy who risked his to be by her side, she left him with a promise: "Wait for me. I'll come back for you."
It's so touching!!! So beautiful!!! I can't stop crying!!! It's just amazing!!!

present------------flashback---------present
Upon watching the first few minutes I assumed that I would be bored 'til the end because it wasn't catchy at all. I expected that it would have a tragic ending based on watching the first few minutes.
Then BOOM... flashbacks entered... "here comes the thunder", taaadddaaa,,, it was a horror movie, I swear!,, ggggrrrrr... so creepy
I thought that this drama would freak me out by the creepiness. But as the story progressed I could not hide the laughter on my face. I have been laughing the entire time. The lite comedy was irresistible.
And lastly, the ending! Upon arriving at the end of the story most people cried (so make sure reserve some tissues with u). I was satisfied with the ending and I was satisfied with the characters' decisions though there still a part of me who says "the ending doesn't deserve to be like that. oohhh, just so sad,!"
Main Characters: boy & girl
-Aggressive to being protective with strong stamina. His character matured along the way especially at the end of the story so watch out.
-Physically weak, quiet but straightforward. She matured a little bit.
*It seemed to me that the two characters only have a pet-master relationship. Although there were times that I could see the deep connection between them which was caressing each other. I fell in love with the cuteness of their innocent actions toward each other.
Chance of laughter: 50%
Chance of crying: 40%
Mixed emotions: 10%
=100% recommended for everyone.
Visual effect: finely done & very neat. Their was a scene which needed more editing but it did not ruin my whole watching experience.
Sound effect and Music: If I wasn't mistaken, only one song was played throughout the movie that contained a very sad soothing romantic effect. The sound effect was executed well that played a big role for the story (startled me a lot), for the characters and also made the theater intensified a lot. So if you want to experience more realistic sound effect I suggest you have to turn on to maximum volume when watching this later on.

The story was unique and I really liked it. Also the characters in the movie were amazing. They played this movie so well. And even tough the 'werewold boy' didn't say alot, he talked with his eyes. He made this movie his.
The end of the movie is surprising, that really caught me and hold me when the movie ended. I was dumbfounded.
The music fit everyscene, not all of them but the most did. I would rewatch this movie anytime. I'd recommend to everyone to watch this movie. Because the title says 'Werewolf boy' don't think this will be the same as twilight or other movies. Just watch this :)!

The werewolf boy was portrayed well, I don't think many people would be able to get the same effect as Song Joong Ki did.
It's such a beautiful story and the acting was great. Was so glad happened to Ji Tae... I really despised him!
But yeah, this is definitely worth a watch - you won't regret it!

The worst thing I could say is that I was really disappointed with the ending. I think that they could have done more to change the ending a little, but I just didn't like the way they just left it at that. If they ever make a sequel, I would definitely want to know what happens after that.
For those Song Joong Ki fans, I think you already know he doesn't talk in this movie much, but it is indeed very rewarding for those scenes that he does. I would definitely recommend this movie to others as well since I think this is the only drama/movie that I've given a 10 on in ratings.

8. The story is a bit confusing at first, and towards the middle you start to think it's going to be really simple, but there are some twists that get a little weird. Overall it's a well told story, but you can't help thinking of twenty different ways it could have played out.
9. You can really feel what the actors are trying to portray. All of them, not just the main characters.
7. The music really suits the movie but it's nothing I'll be looking for later.
9. I am currently watching this movie for the second time right now, but I don't think I'll be watching it again any time soon, so thats a 7 on the rewatch value.
10. Overall, this movie just kind of fell together in a beautiful way.
While admittedly I did cry a lot, this movie isn't all THAT sad. I just wasn't prepared for it, so don't let that stop you from watching.
This movie is sad, scary, and funny in a silly way. I'm not sure I could describe this movie in just one word. Bittersweet would be close, but the movie is lighter than that.
What did I like best about this movie? Chul Soo (Song Joong Ki), he is such a cute puppy! even when he is growling and stuffing his face with boiled potatoes!

The acting is great. The setting is great. The emotional pulls are great. The premise is great. The cast is great. I don't even know where to begin.
Perfect cast. Song Joong Ki plays a mute boy, which is in itself the hardest kind of character to play. Everything conveyed in that character must be shown through body language, and Joong Ki NAILED it. I'm sure there were several laughs as some adorable scenes were shot, because it's almost impossible NOT to smile when Cheol-su is learning to wait before eating, or how to tie his shoes. In addition, Park Bo Young does a superb job of showing her character's transition from a depressed and physically weak teen to a strong and courageous young lady. I won't even mention that one asshole.
The story itself is something that has probably been done in some shape or form before: one character is raised by animals, and the other cleans them up and teaches them how to be human. But the way that it was executed is different and unique and because the script is so strong, it makes the production as a whole that much stronger (combined with the cast performing marvelously makes it strong enough to withstand having a steel beam fall on it).
It was cute, it was fun, it was dark, and it was a roller coaster of "he did not just do that" and "can't you see the truth here!?" The ending was beautiful (though not the way I would have liked it to go), pulling at just the right heartstrings to make you wonder what could have been.
I definitely recommend watching this movie.
