Heartwarming and a bunch of flower boys

Honestly, I gave it a try to watch this drama because of Chengxiao but got surprised because of the whole male cast, lmao. If you are looking for a drama that will spoil your eyes because of its cast, then this drama is super recommended.

Actually, I just started watching C-drama and romance drama isn't my thing, so I didn't have any expectations. I thought the drama would be filled with romance like the previous c-dramas that I've watched, but no? And it turned out to be "my cup of tea dramas".

I really love how they sent every message in this drama. They talked about gender equality, where some people underestimate women for things that they thought only men would understand.
It also talked about dreams. Those players want to chase their dreams despite the fact that they didn't get support and were opposed by their family. The only thing that they can do is prove that they didn't choose the wrong path.
I like how they pointed out fans' behavior. Some fans will throw hate to someone, even think that the support that they have given is enough to interfere in their idol's private life. Also, how people use mental health as an excuse because of her wrongdoing. That's a picture which also happened in real life.
Romance, dream, family, friendship, trust, even relationship between idols and fans, you can find it in this drama.

The matter is in me. I didn't understand the game, so I couldn't be excited T-T but it's still fun to watch. Fortunately, after 26 episodes, I could finally understand the game.

Spoilers Alert!!!

After I finished watching this drama, I felt so sad and happy at the same time. Watching the glittering eyes of Tong Yao (Cheng Xiao) and Lu Si Cheng (Xu Kai) I started to flutter in the ending. Cheng Xiao had managed to keep up the the sweet and strong nature of Tong Yao. While Xu Kai has also done well portraying the cold, strict and handsome Lu Si Cheng. The chemistry between this two opposite in nature people was amazing. I was charmed by seeing their chemistry. Just hoping that they will soon release the poster of Falling Into Your Smile S2 with the same cast. Cross-fingers ?

Why you should watch Falling Into Your Smile

Falling Into Your Smile was the first c-drama I ever watched and I fell in love with it the moment I started watching it. Since it was my first drama I kept wondering whether I would like it or not but Falling Into Your Smile exceeded my expectations and I will never regret watching it. It is an e-sports drama so a lot of the drama is about the game and the gamers. I never knew that there was such a thing as e-sports before and I have never been into gaming but I still found the drama very interesting even though I knew nothing about e-sports at all. They explain about the game quite a bit so you don't feel completely lost. The director shows very well how a pro-gamers life is and the different problems and criticism that they go through and receive. The drama gives a great message about how gamers are not computer addicts like many people think, you can see how passionate they are about their career, and my respect for pro-gamers has grown through watching Falling Into Your Smile. The friendship and the relations between the groups and team members were shown very well and they also showed how parents are not supportive of their kids becoming gamers and the story just felt very realistic. The story wasn't dragged on and was fun to watch.

Every actor did a great job with their acting and they showed the emotions of their characters in such a good and natural way. I'm still wondering how the director found so many handsome and talented people to act in his drama. Everyone was just so handsome, even the only two female leads were so beautiful and they all were just amazing at acting. Everyone did great with the acting and I have nothing to complain about.

Falling Into Your Smile was written in a way where you can never get tired of the story. I personally have seen this drama multiple times and I still find it equally fun and entertaining to watch every time. Falling Into Your Smile is a great drama to watch if you want something that is not too long but is still entertaining with some comedy, friendship and romance. This is a drama I would recommend if you are new to c-dramas and you want something that can give you an idea of what c-dramas are like. This was my first c-drama and after watching it I just got obsessed with c-dramas ever since and i think others will also be if they watch it, this drama is definitely worth the high rating. Both people who like gaming and those who know little to nothing or don't like gaming will equally enjoy this drama.

Simple concept, absolutely beautiful execution

Falling Into Your Smile is a cute, simplistic but extremely well made romcom. It is a treat to watch, especially for those sweet, aww-worthy moments.

The story is very well-balanced between romance and gaming. Although there are quite a few e-sports dramas now, having a female gamer gives it a fresh angle and the prejudice and struggles Tong Yao goes through sound very true-to-life, especially hearing about Chine's netizen culture. The romance moments are so sweet. There are quite a few blink-and-you-might-miss-it-moments and flirty verbal moments that I think are much cuter than the obvious staring into each others eyes for 5 minutes while the music plays scenes.

I liked our leads well enough. I appreciated how importance is placed on Tong Yao skills as e-gamer and dedication. The actress is really good at playing cute, which I've found through extensive drama watching is not as easy as it looks. I really liked all other the characters as well, whose interactions were very fun to watch. It's nice how enough development is given to the numerous side characters so it is possible to find personal favorites and they are not all clones. I like how a lot is put on the teamwork aspect and it not just one person carrying the team. I also liked how the e-sports community felt like...well, a nice, tight-knit community. Members were friends across teams, people supported one another, competitions were fair and everyone vaguely knew or knew of each other. It kind of reminds me when people 'reminisce' about previous Kpop eras when groups collaborated more often, even across different companies, and fandoms weren't so crazy (side note: this is per numerous online comments, I cannot say how accurate it is on then vs now).

The production was pretty good, but at times felt overproduced. The acting was very good but it sometimes felt like there was so much skin filtering or smoothening or something that facial expressions looked stiff. The worse was then people would comment on how someone's face would look so red or with dark circles and all you see is this perfectly made-up and glamourized look. Like, if you are going to have a bunch of people comment on how someone is embarrassed and beet-red, at least make her look a little flushed or something.

Overall, this is a simple and sweet romcom that stays in romcom territory. I was debating between an 8 vs 8.5 since it's not a grand masterpiece but ended up choosing 8.5 because it achieves what it tries to do. This is a great watch when you in the mood for something light and fluffy but still well made or something to relax to after a long day.

Sweetness overhead?

Short review here. I know this drama has a lot of contreversy with some people because of lots of reasons, this review will not talk about it and my rating wasn't biased either. Anyway.

A good drama with a very good complicity with actors. I've watched an other drama about E-Sport and didn't feel the same way about them. Not only the protagonists goes along quite well, the whole main team have a great chemistry together and I really liked that.

The other good thing about it was the gaming, we have gaming here! It was so refreshing, they work hard and it shows, they don't mostly hang out (even if they do too, but they're really focusing on the gaming aspect and I liked it, it's more realistic).

Honestly even if it's a romcom and that you "should" focus on the main couple, it wasn't what I was more interested with. They were able to talk about actuality stuffs going on everywhere but mostly in mainland China such as freedom of speech in social media (mostly) and how you should be careful about your words and your actions, because they all have consequences.

If my rating is not higher after a good short review about it is probably because I wasn't that focus of the main couple and also because I felt like Lu Sicheng was a bit too... compulsive for me. Either way, I was quite satisfied about the drama and I want to say thanks to Lao K et Lao Mao for being the best couple so far.

Xu kai, soso, , XU KAI.. DO I have to say more lol

As you figured out I am a huge fan of XU Kai. I have seen every drama/movie/TV show he has taken a part in as I'm watching both this and Ancient love poetry at the same time and then waiting on a 5 additional drama especially Zhao ge. This drama is about the professional world of E-sport gaming thats a dream to alot of gamers who constantly strive to better themselves especially Tong Yao aka "Smiling" who ranks high in the non professional leagues. She ask her boyfriend Jian yang to teach her how to play when they were dating so she could understand the sport and not be mad when he ignored her or just got frustrated all was good then one day he tells her he's leaving overseas for training and that they breakup. Well she continues to play out of spite and then it turns into a love for E-sports and she's really good at it. Then she gets a call and is interviewed for a professional team and then is offer the mid lander position for ZDGX who is the best of the best in a all male team,. She is reluctant too since she would replace Gun Ming who just announced his retirement after his last game due to his hand injury that doesn't allow him to play any longer and so that's why he retired. As she texts the manager that she accepts there offer to play her ex-bf Yang God suddenly appears thinking she came to see him at first after a year and tells her she shouldnt play in a male sport and if so she should join his team of course she tells him to get lost and the next time she see him ill be a handshake, he thinks she'll run back to him. Unfortunately he should have treated her better and called her and not break her heart and not calling once even when he returned. Then a public announcement is made that a female is joining the ZDGX team as a replacement for Gun ming the team is excited to meet Tong Yao "SMILING" except for Li cheng. She arrived with pancake her cat and Li cheng is afraid that hell eats his sons(fish) there a joke too it but don't want to spoil it all. She meets little fatty Xiao pang he so cute that you love him, then old cat and old K who are quite and BF the gun ming and Xiao rui manager. They have a match against her to see what she got and did well except has to learn to work as a team player and as she start to fit in and learns more about team members and how to play with them as one she is except as one. She goes thru happy, sad, angry, hurtful and so many more emotions by what the Fandom writes and calls her names because they jeousley of her relationship with Li cheng and that she flirting and shouldn't be next to him. As they play matches winnings and losing there fans either love/hate, but as smiling is playing great she has attracted the attention of other members trying to date her which is funny to see. As time goes on of course she and li cheng relationship has changed for the better as they are getting closer and he asked for her to give him a chance and to respond by 9pm now it's 8:58 and he show up and as he asks again when all of a sudden something moves(the cutest scene ever) and she responds....
They continue to have matches and her BF is dating Ji ang the team next door her rival and so they help each in relationship and other matters.. The goal is to win the championship and advance to the world cup which they gave up there position do to gun ming injuries. Each go thru issue with there parents and families not agreeing this is a future sport, and they all proved them wrong. There so much more to this drama. Well worth the wait

THIS IS WORTH TO WATCH ?

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

THIS SERIES MADE ME FEEL SPARKS AGAIN! Every scenes are so unpredictable and I always get butterflies from the main leads. ? I am shocked that this series really has a lot of budget and didn't do it dirty. I am surprised on the buildings, bus, Cheng's luxury car and computers stuffs. The arena also looks so cool! I love it! I also like how the episodes aren't too long and boring, this series is so beautiful! The story plot, plot twist, everything is worth it! Not to mention that all of the cast (main leads, second leads, guests) are all attractive. I feel butterflies just by looking at them. I would say all of them are great actors/actresses, keep going! Goodluck into your life journeys! Btw, FNC Kun I am hoping to see you again on Season 2, you're so cute! ?

THE RIGHT KIND OF HAPPY DRAMA

As a drama fan, 2021 was filled with a lot of intense and dark dramas. And contrary to that, this drama was like a breath of fresh air.

STORY: The story is simple and sweet. ZDGX is an e-sport team and the leads are in the same team. They compete with other teams to win the national championship. Throughout this journey, they all experience wins, loss, happiness, heartbreak and many other feelings. This drama takes you to the e-sport world where their major goal is to win the main championship and to continue their career as a pro gamer.

ACTING: I found the FL a little stiff but considering that it is her first drama, I don't think that its a big issue. All casts have very great chemistry.

I would recommend this drama to anyone who is looking for a sweet, fluffy and light drama. There are no big misunderstandings between the leads , they never break up and there are no evil characters. They have a very healthy and mature relationship and the best thing is that their relation develops gradually. I've seen few people complaining that it is not fully an e-sports drama but I'd like to clarify that e-sports wasn't the only main focus of this drama. There are also other elements such as romance, friendship and comedy; and I think the drama has given justice to every element. The chemistry between the leads is like eye candy and you'll definitely enjoy it if you are a fan of light hearted, fluffy and sweet drama. So just give this drama a try and enjoy the sweet journey of e-sports, romance and friendship.

If you are interested in e-sports genre, then I'll suggest King's avatar, Love O2O, Go Go Squid and Cross fire.

Great friendship, great romance and no unnecessary drama.

I LOVED everything about this drama. The cast was perfect, and full of visuals and great acting, all the characters were amazing. This isn't a drama where you'd hate any character, in fact you'd love most of them and I loved that.

This was a really sweet slow burn romance where the leads have chemistry from the very beginning. The best thing about this drama is definitely the friendship between all the teammates especially in team ZGDX.

Another thing that made this drama so good was that there was very little drama when it came to the leads. There wasn't really any family problems, no relationship problems and even though there is the ex that comes back, it didn't effect the relationship between the leads in any way. There is a love triangle (maybe 2, neither if which were real) but it doesn't effect the relationship between any of the characters. There was nothing and no one stopping the leads getting together and just about everyone shipped them together.

I also really liked the second lead couple. They were a bit unexpected and I didn't think they would last, seemed more like a fling. But, they were actually really cute and supportive of each other. I love it when the SFL and FL are genuine best friends.

I liked the FL's ex, he was a great character, I just didn't like him as her ex. I didn't get second lead syndrome in this drama, at all for him; I can't understand why people did. I can never, and will never, get second lead syndrome for a CHEATER. A man who treated the FL like an object and only wanted her back because she was better than him at e-sports and he thinks she moved on. He reminded me of the SML from Skip Beat!, only here he was actually a decent person, only a TERRIBLE boyfriend. Yes, he's good looking, but so was litterally EVERY other character in this drama.

THIS IS REALLY A MUST WATCH E-SPORT THEMED DRAMA!!!!

I SO LOVE THIS DRAMA!!! FROM THE CASTS, THE PLOT, THE PRODUCTION, EVERYTHING! THIS IS REALLY A MUST WATCH DRAMA AND I REALLY HOPE THERE WILL BE A SEASON 2.

I have watched this drama for over 4 times already and i still can't get enough of them. Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao's chemistry is no joke!!! They will surely give you 100000% of sweetness that you'd feel that you want to pee on your pants. I'm not kidding. I literally rolled over my bed while watching the two of them. What i also love about the two is that their acting was really natural. Like they said in their interview before, this was their first team up together (HOPEFULLY NOT THE LAST) and they really just got to know each other better on set. And somehow that helped with their characters bc Tong Yao and Lu Sicheng did not know each other before as well. They started as strangers then friends who were always bickering with each other (seems like xk and cx irl tho HAHAHHA) before their love started to blossom. It came out naturally bc the leads also just got to know each other better on set.

OVER ALL, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TO WATCH THIS DRAMA!!!!
