Meh

I was really waiting for this drama but now...

STORY
The plot has some potential, but I feel like they could have done way way way better. I was bored by 4 full episodes of rebooting TinCan plotline from the 1rst season and after that everything else happened so fast...
They should have developed the story slower and more fully and they also should have given more screen time to the secondary couples:
- KlaNo: we don't see why and how Techno changes his mind about Kengkla. Yes, we can infer that it's because of Kla's love letters (and endless stalking... ahem... patience), but there's no built-up for them.
- TumTar: okay, they unsettled me. We left Tum swearing endless love to Tar and now he's suddenly fallen out of love? How? When? Why? I know that their relationship was controversial, but they could have better handled their storyline. Heck, Tum loved Tar for years!
- TulHin: I love them and probably they're the best side couple of the show. But if you haven't read the original novel you can't really understand their story.

CAST
I don't know what to say. There are a few good scenes overall the drama, but I could feel Plan (Can) awkwardness during kissing and intimate scenes. It felt like he hated them and it broke the spell for me.
Despite the lack of screen time, it was way better the skinship between Meen (Tul) and Est (His).
I really appreciated Perth (Ae)'s acting, especially in the first part of the season when he had more screen time and dramatic scenes.

MUSIC
Nothing particular to say. To me, it was a little bit invasive in the last episode, but I usually don't like when characters sing in order to convey their feelings.

In conclusion: I'm happy to have watched this drama because I needed to see a happy ending for Tin and Can, but I will not rewatch it.

Tincan are funny and cute but the script and direction are both half-assed and poorly managed.

Despite the bedraggled and perplexing nature of the script, the main story revolving around TinCan was rather well done and I enjoyed most of their interactions. Both Tin and Can are two very distinct characters and watching their relationship evolve from dislike to friendship and to a subsequent romance was both hilarious and heartwarming. Can's innocence in contrast to Tin's iciness was just as charming as it was in S1. I also really loved how straightforward both Tin and Can are with each other and how instead of falling into petty misunderstandings due to lack of communication, they both choose to trust each other and talk through their issues while dealing with Tin's problematic brother and complicated family situation. Both the lead actors did a great job as well. Mean and Plan have the kind of chemistry that comes naturally and with ease which is perfect for an unconventional couple like TinCan. Their humorous yet emotional portrayal of the TinCan love story was the only saving grace of this show.

All the other story arc's were pretty redundant and even the existence of some of the characters were rendered moot by their lack of screentime. And some new side characters that were introduced were completely pointless. The klano pairing was disturbing due to what happened between them at the end of S1, tumtar took a rather bizarre turn at the end and suffered from severe lack of screentime and Ae's storyline this time was just frustrating to watch. Tulhin was the only supporting story line that was halfway decent. Although, I have to say that the whole Tin playing cupid for tulhin struck me as odd and unnatural, as well as OOC for Tin.

Other than that, this show is basically yet another example of how a story built on a bad script can't be salvaged regardless of how great the casting is or how big the fan base. How Mame managed to botch up her own story this badly, I'll never know. She took an interesting and unique story and turned it into balderdash.

Another problem here is that what people got wasn't what they were expecting - what fans wanted was the arrogant, ice cold and dangerous looking Tin and the mentally 5 year old cantaloupe and the continuation of their story. Unfortunately, what they got instead was a much softer Tin with a mentally 10 year old cantaloupe with a completely unnecessary rebooted storyline. Add into the equation a bunch of insipid supporting characters with unexplained storylines that goes nowhere and you have got the sequel combination that collectively pissed off the entire LBC fandom in one clean stroke.

Nevertheless, if you can get over the pointless reboot of the main story arc, this show might still be worth a watch, if only for the sake of TinCan. Although, It might be best to go into this with a fresh perspective and as a whole new series instead of considering it as a sequel. Keep LBC 1 as just background reference and start this series as a story independent of it. This series overall gives off a much different vibe than LBC 1. It's tone is much softer and the whole vibe that TinCan gives off is way less volatile as well.

P. S - lots of people seem to disappointed with the lack of kissing scenes especially since Tin and Can are both portrayed as sexually aggressive, but this might be due to the fact that one of the main leads (Plan) was suffering from dengue fever while filming this, so they might have had to cut down those scenes due to health concerns, so, I'm willing to give them a pass.

It's Not the Same Ole LBC1

Okay, I normally do not right formal reviews of these series, as it is (IMO) just a tv or internet series and not a major box office production.

First of all, I generally do not like "redos" of series as they tend to make many changes in the wrong direction. For example, the story may change the actors playing the roles, or change the behavior of the characters from the original to the redo. Often, there are plot changes in the redo that vary from the original, which make it difficult for the audience to follow and comprehend. Such is the case with Love By Chance 2: A Chance to Love (LBC2).

In this redo version of Love by Chance (LBC1), what the fans were expecting was the continuation of the Tin/Can love story that ended not too favorably in LBC1. Specifically, that story line ended with Can rejecting Tin's request to become and couple and having Tin give a "crying shower" scene that brought down the house. Instead, the fans received a "retelling" of the original love story minus many of the original characters and the addition of new characters. To say that this "new" story line was confusing, would be an understatement. The redo also changed a few actors playing familiar roles, such as a younger, more handsome version of Tin's brother, "Tul." More importantly, IMO, was that redo changed the behavior of the two main characters, Tin and Can. In LBC1, Tin was snobbish, arrogant, at times unfeeling, and lonely. It was established that the reason Tin was they way was due to the torment of him by his family, mainly his older brother Tul. However, in LBC2, Tin is creepy and distant, and giving an air of some type of psychopath. Can on the other hand, in LBC1, is portrayed as naive, slightly childish, loving of his family, and immensely loyal to his friends. In LBC2, Can is very weak minded, silly, and not nearly as loyal in defense of his friends. I think in LBC2, both Tin and Can's characters were NOT the same as their characters in LBC1. Therefore, it was difficult as a fan to actually believe their love story progress in LBC2 as it did in LBC1.

LBC2 also glossed over the other story lines in the series from LBC1. The Kla/No story, which was terrible IMO, was given a little screen time, as was the Tar/Tum story line. At least there was some finality and closure with the Tar/Tum story line that kind of may sense, even if it took several episodes within the story to flesh out. Now, as for the Kla/No story, there was no definitive resolution, possibly setting the premise for LBC3. Finally, although the Ae/Pete story was not as significant to LBC2 as it was in LBC1, the way in which the series handled Pete not being in the series, and the behavior of Ae in the series was a total mess. Any good writer or director "worth his salt" (a western expression) could've made much better use of Ae's screen time than what was portrayed. Ae's character in LBC2 was a waste of space. It would've probably been better NOT to even have the character in the series. It also probably would've been better to do a complete "reboot" of the series, with all new actors in the roles, similar to what was done in 2Moons and 2Moons2. Each was distinctive. Each had its good and bad points. And, each was different enough to separate it from the other.

If you're a diehard LBC1 fan, and I am (along with many others), then watch LBC2 and attempt to have an open mind. Because, it is different. The question you'll have to answer for yourself is this, "Is different okay?"

Good and Disappointing

Disappointed in AE. He cried too much and I liked him better when he was more like a guy and not like a girl. Sorry. Just my opinion. Nothing wrong with a gay guy looking and acting like a guy like he did in season 1 . It does happen in real life. The best was the ending with Tin resolving his childhood trauma. Good surprise value and good writing. Can (Plan) was better in season 1. More genuine and believable. Not enough of other characters it was like they were cameos. Just dumfounded that the ending scene was him getting a text from I can't even remember his name, so like...who cares??? This is total case where the out side drama effected my opinion of the story. Be careful guys. Don't air out your dirty laundry in publics.

my thoughts about love by a chance

well;; actually idk what to say about this series, i remember after the series came out i was waiting for a new episode every day so i can tell you that this series is amazing but i still find the story a bit of a mess. idk what the writer was thinking when he wrote about Pete break up with Ae but when i was digging through internet i was reading the novel and basically i saw this was planned in the novel so thats fair enough

i rlly want season 3 cuz the story of Kengkla and Techno isnt clear

Can and Tin are rlly cute bl ship, they have everything to look at as a couple but why would SEASON 2 eventally need to be just from the start.. anyway im not complaining i just think that wasnt okay but ya know i still like it

i think that season 3 need to be for Kengkla and Techno that will be a good concept of the series, season 1 about Ae and Pete, season 2 about Can and Tin and season 3 about Kengkla and Techno, every season each couple for me thats a rlly cool concept

- thank you readers,
and thank you for all the ppl who work hard for the series
ขอขอบคุณสำหรับทุก!

The timeline in this is weird as frick, they redo their entire relationship from season one but after Pete left school (which would change Pete´s rlationship with Ae). The first half of this season is basically their story from LBC, with the smallest changes done.

Also I never liked how Tin forces Can to go out with him and abuses his power (money) to control Can and ensure a relationship with him.

The acting is also pretty bad because Can never seemed to be confortable with Tin, even after they were already in a relationship.

Part 3 PLEASE! , justice for the story of AEand PETE

That last text message will make you cry!

Good thing, They dont give AE different love interest. KODUS for that.

Hoping Saint and Perth will have a come back. That will be an epic if that will happen.

F*ck those people behind the issue causing all the mess on the artists. But thank you, cause if not. This season and story will that just be boring.

Another thing, its confusing how part 1 to 6 of tincan story is a recap while ae and pete are on the right track?

Techno and kla, has the longest build up. Another boring part.

Tum is such a cutie, he deserve to have new partner.

All in all. Please watch season 1, and we hope there is part three.

Im back AE -PETE.

I am sooooo disappointed (it could've been better and I had high expectations)
Things I disliked:
*The scenes they re-filmed were wayyyy better in the LBC1
*There are missing characters that I loved in the first season like Good and Pond's gf
*The very messed up timeline that made no sense no matter how much I tried to find excuses to it I couldn't. I mean they could've just mentioned that AePete were no longer 2gether since, in the book, TinCan reunited after a month so anything could happen in a month.
*I felt offended with the way they dealt with KlaNo couple it was both disrespectful to fans and actors I mean they didn't even get a proper complete scene!!
*Tin's family issues were so easily solved and wrapped up in no time, that all the drama they showed in LBC1 seemed exaggerated and ridiculous, Tin's father knew about how Tul framed Tin and didn't do anything now he dares say it was for his well being (the whole drag scandal is very serious and dangerous) but I'm not surprised since we've seen how the author dealt with worse issues in tharntype!!
The things that got me going :
*Tincan (<3 <3 <3 they had many sweet moments that gave me butterflies in my tummy I LOVE THEM)
*Hin the new character (BEST character ever)
*Perth's acting (WOW)

It could be better

Yeah I had completed the season today and when I watched the first episode I was confused what's going it take time for me too understand what's going on and I really don't like the we get a rewind of season 1 in 7 episodes like really for me I thought Tin and Can are meeting for the first time and I was like they were actually pretty close in season 1 and in season two I thought for one moment I was watching season 1 again and the fact that we don't have Ae and Pete so the main couple were Tin and Can so they just focused on them it's a good thing but if you are going to give us the repeat of season 1 so they could have focused on KlaNo because till the last episode I was confused when did Techno forgave Kla and we don't get enough screen time or character development and let's talk TumTar or KeenTum dude they didn't have a screen time at all and in the second last episode we just see TumTar ending as Brother relationship and Tar says to him to move forward with Keen because Keen likes Tum but never gets the courage and in the last episode we could have atleast have KeenTum little bit scene of chemistry or something else but we didn't get any scene I was disappointed and now my favourite couple was HinTul the fact when I watched the first scene of them in episode 3 or 4 I can't remember but I fall in love with the chemistry of them and I was happy for their happy ending and now talk about Ae we just saw him crying and drunk in the first 3 episodes and then suddenly we just saw him move on and in the last we saw a Pete message I am back and the season ends and I was like WTF dude if they make another season I don't think so they will made and if they make please don't do the exact same mistake but I want the third season of this

watch only for tincan

okay
so the first 7 episodes didn't feel like a season 2 to me they just repeated the story again but removed pete / saint from their storyline
I just didn't like that season 2 had season 1's part but just in a different manner
there were alot of characters missing in the season 2
I love that tincan had a season 2 I love that but still I wish this drama just had tincan as their main focus cause they didn't have a lot of moments together (or maybe I just love them so much and I can't get enough of them)
I love how tins past was showed and I love how supportive and great all the family members were ...
I want to know more about tins brother relationship and phupha too
I like that tar and stepbrother ( forgot the name) didn't become the endgame
I thought that Maybe perth will have a new love interest but I'm happy he didn't cause in the end I guess his love came back
I would only watch this drama from episode 8 to 13 because otherwise it's too boring and I watched season 1 and 2 back to back
I wasted my time watching 1st 8 episode
there are alot of people saying that pergs character has changed alot while I do agree I think that maybe if we were abandoned by the love of our life I'd have the same reaction so I don't feel too irritated by that
I love the friendship of ae and pond

there are alot of problems in this drama but I didnt get that mad because tincan was too cute

BUT IF YOU ARE WATCHING THIS DRAMA PLEASE SKIP 7 EPISODES AND WATCH FROM EPISODE 8 ONLY....
bye thanks for reading ....

You can skip first 6 episodes of season 2 and you're at the same spot where the season 1 left off

Epi 1: Can't believe I ever said about Can that he's plain... He is SO cute:)) On the other hand, Ae somehow doesn't look hot anymore, Phit disappeared (no loss there), and of course the resident beau Tin still reigns undefeated. That's right: I decided to call the characters by their names in second season:) I think they all proved in previous season already and the audience watching are people who know the characters already, hardly someone who haven't seen the first season.

Now. I know we were left with some unresolved things between Can & Tin in s1, which I expect them to slowly work on these new 13 episodes... Instead, there is a scene that comes in first 5 minutes of runtime and they are already in each other's arms? I didn't get why was Can crying so hard in the first place. Seriously, who keeps writing script like this? There are some side-characters I kept skipping in s1, so I don't really know who they are, except that they call themselves 'Techno' (PLEASE... I'd take any thai name), I know Pond only (but Cha-am is no longer by his side... or she got re-cast by someone chubbier:) There is also this weird thing that Tin & Can introduce themselves to each other again: some kind of restart (but only for the 2 of them). Someone obviously doesn't get that when I'm looking forward continuation of something, I am looking for it actually CONTINUE, else I would just order more episodes of '2Wish'. But I guess this will sort itself with time, never mind if their story has double start, we'll see how it will go. It's still better than Ae, who clearly is not to have ANY more story. He won't enter new romance with some new dude, he'll just whine after the one who disappeared for the whole season. But I found this comment by PoetryInMotion about Can:

"Can is iconic. Literally the only things on his mind are food and his boyfriend's d*ck. Like, I aspire to that level of carefree living. Teach me your ways. At the same time, he's genuinely a good person, a good friend, a great supportive boyfriend, and I love his relationship with his sister. Also, I can't help but respect a character who is so smol yet so ready to fight. I absolutely love the dude."

And so! Can is still Can, I think I STILL have enough to look foward to. So I'll keep watching;)

Epi 2: Can & Tin's early interactions are silly. It was like that in season 1, too. Obviously we need to wait till they know each other a little (again). Again, we watch their "first" kiss, too. And while I agree that needed to be remade, sadly this is no better than the first attempt. I do remember there was a good kiss in first season later, though. Hopefully, second season shall also come up with better later kisses. So far this remake of a second season repeats what was not so good in first season, let's hope it would repeat what was good, too.

Epi 3-4: It's annoying to watch Can & Tin establishing laboriously that they actually DO want to spend time together. Again. When all the while I'm waiting for them to get where they were already, and their story to continue. I liked it when they both already developed some feelings and then those were forcing them to face the relationship, too. This stage, it's morelike Tin is still forcing Can to do this and that, lol. He took a liking in the simple & innocent Can despite the rocky start and goes after him rather aggressively. Yeah, we already watched that in season 1.

Some scenes are practically identical to their "first story". Tin shares something sad about his childhood. Then says he was just making it up when Can expresses compassion, etc. It's the same only different details. Well, never mind. While these scenes are not better than the season 1 ones, there are not worse. I just hope that with practically the same number of episodes, season 2 won't end at the same stage as season 1 did, and we get at least tiny step further.

As for the other characters I skipped the whole previous season, I believe it's best I'll stick with it and continue to skip them this season, too. Plus, I'll start skipping Ae.

Aand... :Looks like I don't have to worry this season won't get any step further. Because the second kiss Tin & Can, which was episode 12 in season 1, is in episode 4. So this won't be an identical re-telling, rather some faster refresh:) Either way, I think that kiss was maybe tiny bit better in previous season. I have strong feeling the cast is straight as they looked like in pain doing this;)

Tin continues in anxious pursuit of Can: now even more ridiculous in concentrated form. It's like these two HAVE TO start dating for the sake of it. Probably because fans wanted it:) To be fair, the season 1 relationship forming seemed artificial and sudden, too. Like I mentioned, I'm looking forward to their more developed stages. Hopefully we'll soon reach the place where we last left off.

Epi 5: It's getting better. Still something already watched, but more enjoyable stage. This couple (by now I practically watch them only, I skip all the other stuff) does wonders. They both fit each other perfectly both as cast and characters. I understand why people ship them together. I do, too:) Some scenes are awkward, but let's see how we'll go. There might be something better waiting for us more than in season 1:)

Epi 6: Same like first season, it's never even considered that Can might NOT be gay. With Tin coming on him rather strong, he sometimes says things like what if I don't want to be kissed this early? Etc. But what if Can liked girls? Tin like never stops to ask himself such question. He's quite big in compare to Can so it might look at first glance he's molesting poor Can:) Good that Can is the type to shout he'll punch someone in the face every now and then.

The awkward motif with Tin buying stuff for Can and Can letting himself to be kissed "in return" is repeated, too. So I was looking forward when this "courtship" stage is over... Then it was there: end of epi 6/beginning epi 7, Tin & Can have approx. same conversation like they had the last (14th) episode of season 1. Only now Can says he "doesn't want to be like Ae"... (meaning the unwatchable "new Ae" from second season). Maybe I still think that conversation was more interesting the first time. Never mind. Anyways it can now be clearly said to watch the rest of this story, you can skip first 6 episodes of season 2 and you're at the same spot where the season 1 left off.

Basically, after watching 40 minutes of episode 7, I got what I was looking forward since season 1 ended:) The two are almost too adorable together... And I noticed that right from the beginning:) Though I might like to watch a bit of the prolonged angst before they are ultimately together, there's no time for it now because we watched their re-telling from the start, instead. I can now say watching Tin & Can beginning was sufficient in season 1, they didn't need to repeat it. If anything I found it more enjoyable in the 1st season, as there was also the Ae & Phit couple still together (they DID have good kiss scenes & bed scenes) while here there's nothing else than Tin & Can to watch.

Epi 8: Okay just when I thought we're finally behind the awkward part, Can starts speaking about sex LOL. There is a bed scene and I was afraid whether it's going to be bad (skinship was not THIS couple's strong suit). Instead, we don't get to see ANYTHING. Well, better than bad, but...!:) Then there's another kiss that is also bad... It's like the only flaw of this couple, lol.

Epi 9: Can's facial expressions couldn't be cuter even if he was an anime character. Nevertheless, this couple's cuteness works only with clothes on, lol (even only a quick flashback of the "bed scene" looks painful). Mean Phiravich actually cannot act at all (his s1 bathroom scene or his s2 family scenes are the worst) but he's so attractive it was never a noticeable problem, lol.

10: The relationship is cute, nevertheless the "bed scenes" or "like a bedscene"s are painful to watch. Maybe the camera should mercifully turn away (it soon does, anyways... in reality there isn't much to watch). Anyways the new plot device seems to be Tin's brother. There are 2 directions this can go: what can the "evil" brother do? He'll try to harm Can, or steal Can for himself? No, so far he settles for talking ill about Tin, or sending Can some nasty videos. Can punches him only as last resort (I would rather enjoyed if he'd really done it 1st thing on their 1st meeting:) and only very mildly (even a woman was able to stop him:) Either way Tin had to know bringing Can to his home would bring his brother's attention to him. He knew he'll start targetting him. So it could be said the "evil" brother only did the obliging. Now, is he really going to do something evil with Can, or just reveal that Tin now has someone who loves him?

Episode 11 should bring an answer to this question. Now, we're shown the "evil" brother did everything on a purpose, and is now calmly watching Can telling to Tin's father how much injustice was done to Tin by him. Is this some form of an atonement for the "evil" brother? Also the father of both the brothers sure does see things from more than one perspective. And does need to do some anonement of his own... An emotional, turning point scene is happening in Tin's household, though apparently quicker than Can is able to understand it, LOL. Nevertheless, with his purity, he served as a catalyst and Tin gratefully hugs him.

Epi 12: In the end, besides Tin & Can, we now have also Tin's brother & his boyf as the second couple to root for, lol. There's one more Tin & Can brief kiss/bed scene, not really enjoyable but hell, I'm already used to that with these two. Tin's brother is here to provide us better in this department:)

13: We have the ending for both the series... Tin&Can tried for a bedscene that would be at least bit less off-putting. Okay... let's lay off these two boys, finally. They tried the best they could. There's also a scene with Ae filming embarassing video showing him still in quite a state. I wasn't really moved by this scene because I say people either move on, OR even separation is not a problem that could not be solved eventually. But to make us watch something pitiful for 13 episodes just because the actor was unavailable is way more "tragic" lol.

The downfall of this series as a whole can be summed up in one element: the main couple.

Mean's acting has been decent and consistent since he played the role of cold and aloof Tin in LBC1. In LBC2, Mean had to deal with a poor script, lazy directing, and most of all a co-star who showed 0 efforts in 'acting' like he even wanted to show up to work that day. Mean's acting skills looked even more refined and strong when he's facing his on-screen partner.

Plan, who plays the often times insufferable and in rare occasions endearing Can, was decent enough while portraying his character in some scenes on the show (mostly in LBC1), when he's interacting with literally any other actor of the show other than Mean. With his on-screen partner, Plan is awkward and a general pain to watch. The 'apron scene' in EP13 is the best exemple of this. As a viewer who's scene my fair share of straight and gay sex scenes (TharnType, I'm looking at you), I couldn't help but cringe and feel genuine second hand embarrassment from that scene. It's awkward, it's distasteful, it's useless to the plot, it's fetishization at its finest, and Plan looked the part of a corpse rather than a willing partner.

TinCan as the main couple of LBC2 were a disappointment. As a TinCan enthusiast since LBC1, I was looking forward to where the actors could take their characters given the opportunity to hone them for 13 episodes. Alas, whatever it was in LBC1 that made TinCan an interesting couple was lost throughout LBC2. The script was indeed cheesy and weak at times, and New seemed to not have been willing to show the incredible directing skills he showed in UWMA or even My Gear and Your Gown, but Plan was the bane of this fiasco of a show. All props go to Mean for literally carrying this 'ship' and these characters all on his handsome, manly shoulders. It was disappointing and disheartening to see how little to no effort Plan gave to play such a loved and endearing character.

Ae's whole presence in the show was unnecessary, they should've just written him out of the show, just how they did with Pete. Brooding and crying for 13 episodes about a lost puppy love is not attractive. Perth's potential as an actor was under-used. His crying, self-pitying scenes quickly got old, and they're only skip-worthy.

I want to give a special shoutout to the only couple that looked like they tolerated each other's existence, Meen and Est, who played Tul and Hin. For the few minutes they were allowed to be together on screen in the final 2 episodes, these rookie actors showed more emotion and openness than all the other couples of the show combined.

KenglaTechno are a waste of airing time, and every time the writers try to shove them down our throats for the few minutes they got in 13 episodes, it left a sour taste in my mouth. One conclusion could come out of this disaster of a 'ship': romanticizing rape is wrong and ugly. MAME should be ashamed of herself.

The one thing MAME did right was dropping whatever incestuous mess TumTar were. Tum and Keen were not given the chance to show their dynamic as a couple, but they were cute and endearing during the little time they got. My baby Earth was used as a prop to promote this shit show, only for him to show up for all of 3 minutes in the last episode.

Mai and Job are new characters who appeared out of thin air and start to act like they were there from the beginning, and they're just plain unlikeable. We miss Good!

Last but not least is Pond. In LBC1, Pond was a shocking, sometimes overwhelming, but ultimately loveable character that you can't help but root for and wish to have as a best friend. In LBC2, Pond (and Bow) were basically living product placements. Somehow, Pond lost his spark, his personality, any memory of his girlfriend (!!), and overall what made him such a loved character.

Overall, LBC2 is a hot mess and a chain of disappointments. It caused me physical pain to watch this show every week, but all I could think of every time was how much potential it had. So little of that potential was delivered.
