Shortly said: A well executed episode, contending lots of heavy subjects, that truly proved the young actors ability.
In addition to many others I was very pleased, or should I say ?Happy? with this episode.
I am not going to go as far as to applaud the writers because they still have that much too complicated family drama going on on the side, that I honestly can?t see the point of.
Yes, I do understand that it is something that binds/connects our characters. But it?s too darn complicated, and it takes too much precious screen time for it to justify.
But with this episode I am happy, it was well acted, portrayed and came with some highly appreciated analyze value. What more can you ask for?
Furthermore it brought a heavy subject to surface a subject that should be surfaced more often.
Plus it was well executed!
I like how they put extra weight on the separation scene/their hands losing grip of each other, and how they brought forward questionable actions such as HJW leaving LYS behind and then LSY?s incapability/lack of effort to flee with him.
Rather than HJW deciding that this is the smarter descision I think it?s more that he wanted to flee, not mainly because of fear but rather denial being the bigger factor and LYS incapability is doubtly because of the physical wounds she received but rather the shame and taint of being sexually assaulted, also this being done before HJWs eyes. Him leaving her behind is probably evoking as a confirmation in her mind.
Well, as much as I like to analyze- what I am the most happy about in this case is that we actually got a legitimate reason for their separation:
It?s not someone else hindering them from meeting up, but it?s themselves; their scars, their self denial and their shame.
Yes, I am pleased with sexual assault being the reason, absolutely legitimate.
Though there?s a particular scene near the end that I am puzzled about!
: HJW is lying in his bed seemingly recapping the traumatic incident and there?s this short scene where he seems to return to the scene of crime, looking for LYS only to find the shed empty?
From looking at the weather on the outside (snowing) one must conclude that it?s from the same time but.. I highly doubts that his father would let him return there, right?
So.. With that in mind, did he return for her? Even before then? When did he do that? While he was escaping?
Or was it just a wish scenario (weird when she?s not present) or perhaps a portrayal of something? I really don?t know what to draw from it.
But what I am certain about is the lead actors fantastic chemistry, it?s indeed impressive and their acting in particular the boys is just: hands up. I must say it?s an shame that we can?t keep going with these two as leads, they?re doing an absolute killer performance!
Eun hye and Yoochun has a lot to live up to.
And before I end I must input that I do feel like there was clear heads up/warnings before the rape scene occurred, such as the drug inflicted man gazing at her feet. So upset people should stop bashing.
