Reviews
Was taken back by the picture quality at first as it is made in 1999 and also lead to few initial confusion as i could not detect some context difference .
Nevertheless the story keeps you gripped down .
Mystery is build up smoothly early on. You constantly get questions on your mind and want to keep watching.
In my case i did not see that reveal coming.
While i did find some scenes lackluster overall i found it very interesting and intriguing. Few scenes and interactions were brilliantly done. I was not excited about the romance part but did not hate it since it served to develop the story.
I did not pay attention to the music.it does its job to keep viewers on edge . Rewatch value is less because the mystery is already solved so surprise factor will be lost after but still i would like to watch again to see if there are more clues and details that i missed the 1st time.(not anytime soon since its pretty gruesome)
Not an avid watcher of horror thriller kind movie .
May be that could be a reason why i have enjoyed this movie so much but would highly recommend (especially for Halloween month).

Cure on Crack
Cure if Kurosawa was on crack, as the same hypnosis aspect and a very similar feeling throughout especially in the direction and cinematography. The last 20 minutes is pretty ridiculous but in an endearingly overly dramatic way so you can't get mad at it kinda ruining the rest of the movie. All of the suicides manage to be very effective and memorable scenes though, I was pretty surprised how much they stuck with me, particularly the scene with Dvorak's 'From the New World'. I really liked Masayuki Ochiai's directing here, I'm keen to watch more from him.The first stage of the credits with the names of the stars is so overly dramatic it's awesome. Also, it's probably just a coincidence, but it was interesting seeing someone with exactly the same design as Lilico in the 2012 Helter Skelter movie.
If you want an interesting but a bit campy horror movie or something to scratch the Cure itch, I recommend.
