easy-to-watch, slice-of-life romance drama
This was a drama extremely pleasant to watch with no villains, no scheming, no angsts, no unhappy parents who objected to main leads or third parties (there were, but no threat at all) nor even major ups nor downs in the story. Just a pleasant and simple childhood friends-turned-lovers who saw each other as one and only love story. Theirs was a sweet, passionate romance with a picture perfect happily ever after ending. It was an easy-to-watch, slice-of-life romance drama, the kind that you do not really need to concentrate very hard on the conversations but still be able to understand what’s going on.
There were no major ups or downs in the story so there was no excitement or anything to look forward to either.
To be honest, I was not very invested in the male lead, Wen Shao Qing (Tang Xiao Tian) and female lead, Cong Rong (Xing Fei). Their acting was natural and their chemistry as a couple was exceptional. They looked extremely believable as a couple. I have nothing to fault on that. However, I was not invested in Tang Xiao Tian’s looks. As I was writing this review, I kept thinking whether I should even talk about an actor’s looks because it seemed shallow and superficial, but this was basically just my opinion. If it had been a crime or thriller drama, whether the male lead was handsome or not would not have bothered me, him being good-looking would just have been a bonus. However, for a romance drama, the looks of the male and female leads are important, at least to me. Still, I did not deduct many points for this because acting and story are still the utmost important in a drama, of course it did affect my enjoyment, I did not have that fluffy feeling I usually got when I watched such romance dramas.
That being said, I have to say that this was still a very well-done romance drama. There were no silly or illogical acts by any character. The main leads were mature and realistic in their actions and thinking.
Usually around the main leads, there would also be many supporting leads. In this case, we had the female lead’s best friend, superior, the male lead’s uncle, junior, etc. There was nothing to fault in their acting, neither did I find anyone of them irritating nor a hindrance to the main leads or story development at all. Everyone in this drama were simply ‘good’ people, who would not cause unnecessary trouble. In fact, to me, even the love story between the female lead’s best friend and male lead’s uncle were good and I also liked the song that the latter sang while playing the guitar.
OST: I only liked the song sang by the male lead’s uncle. I did not fancy the rest of the songs in the drama.
MY VERDICT
I consider this as a feel-good drama, very pleasant to watch, but again such dramas can be rather dull as well. Yes, it was boring to me when I started because as I said, there was not much excitement, no major ups or downs, but I adjusted myself and enjoyed when I was really in the mood for it so I did not binge-watch and took a while to finish it.
It was simply a realistic, modern romance drama with lots of kisses after the main leads became a couple officially. I have to emphasize, there were really many kisses and 90% of them deep smooches, they literally kissed every time they met after a day’s work, and that was like every day and moreover they lived only opposite of each other.
Would I recommend?
Yes, if you are looking for such a drama like the above, or if you want to watch the main leads or if you are looking for a drama to de-stress, to feel pleasant, to feel good, to watch easily (trust me, it was really very easy to watch), to fill up your time while waiting for new episodes of other dramas, this is one of them to consider, but as I said, enjoy it when you really feel like watching such a drama, otherwise you may find the story a little dull.

Cute love story
I just finished watching this drama and I can tell you all I really like it. Its simplicity was one of the things I was happy about. A simple, cute, and natural love story, between two people who knew each other since childhood (he was always the victim of bullying, and she protected him). They meet again after some years and don't recognize each other, but they develop feelings they try to deny. But when they find out they were the people each of them searched for all these years, love blooms and they become a wonderful couple. Each of them strives to become a professional, he as a doctor, she as a lawyer, support each other, love each other, trust each other. They are kind, sociable, lovely, gentle, and respectful. Such beautiful examples and models! Was this review helpful to you?

Nice but nauseating
This is a sweet drama, sweet and a bit nauseating, and I found the second lead relationship more realistic than the main leads. The second leads loved each other with all their flaws. The main leads were perfect human beings in a perfect relationship. Most adults know that there is nothing that is perfect so it was a bit fairytale-ish. The cousin was adorable and funny throughout. Twenty-eight episodes were not necessary and really dragged the story out. Overall I enjoyed it but spent a lot of time rolling my eyes. Was this review helpful to you?
Such a cute and fun watch!
This show gave me all the butterflies! If you love a good guy chases girl, then this show is for you. So many cute moments. The second couple was super cute as well. Lots of time given to the romance development, without any mean girl moments. The romantic moments also start quickly, so you don't have to wait long. If you are looking for a show that gives you all the feels, that isn't too heavy, and actually has some smart dialogue, then definitely give this a watch. My only criticism of the show is that it probably could've ended an episode or two earlier. This was my first C Drama and I loved it!Was this review helpful to you?

What a beautiful and inspiring story!!
First of all the casts fits well in every characters, second, the main and supporting couples have the definition of perfect chemistry third, has a lot to teach us about life. Many say that unrealistic is the story but actually no, it does happen in real life but not for all of us. The drama will teach us the value of waiting, which is no reason to rush. Just like Shaoqing waiting for Rong to comeback after 2 decades. For those years of Shaooqing's wait for Rong, he doesn't lost faith that she will come back someday. That is a very inspiring characteristic of Shaoqing. Also, I love How Shaoqing keeps distance with women's exception Cong Rong. They made me look forward to Wednesdays to Fridays.❤️I'm gonna miss them big time!?Really Worth Watching!!

Very enjoyable
I enjoyed the story, was not only fluff but not all serious or melodrmatic. (act it can be considered fluff but to me like different type of fluff than lets say intense love). but my favorite aspect other than the rlly cute scenes are THE CHARACTERS. and i dont mean this in like wow theyre great complex ppl. no not rlly that type of show, but for the type of show it is, the characters are very refreshingly pleasing.i love how this show was able to make the characters not anoying. like evil secold leads.. nope, just normal people liking other people. strong main fl does not mean oboxious know it all doesnt appologize think shes always in the right. shes strong headed but when she realizes shes wrong or even not wrong but did not see someone elses side she appologizes right away. ml likes female but isn't anoyingly chasing. hes respectful and upfront about emotions. also at first he wasn't cold for no reason, it was acounted for.
second couple: yes girl chases, but in a dignified way and not at al anyoing. like i was rooting for her. in so many other ones ive always just been like gurl bye, get over him, make him chase u etc. but here is good. n the guy was not like cold cold he was act very helpful to her but kept ppl at a distance. his past was a normal past not something being dragged in the story that keeps them from being together (at least in my opinon it wasn't dragged).

Lovey Dovey Vibes <3
This drama popped up on my YouTube account and so, I decided to watch it after reading reviews about it.I’d say WATCH!
Watch because:
-The leads have very good chemistry.
-The male lead looked surprisingly handsome and suave here. He was the second male lead in Put Your Head on my Shoulder and I didn’t like him much then. He’s so so much better here.
-The female lead isn’t the hot and sexy type but she’s adorable and likable in her own unique way.
-I like that she is assertive enough and not a pushover in the show.
-Angst is kept to a minimum in this drama.
-Main couple are faithful to each other and love each other sincerely in this show and I’m all for such true love.
-Show is fluffy and full of love and cute moments.
-In general, everything is nicely explained and tied up.
-Very happy ending which is my soft spot. I’m a sucker for happily-ever-after!!
Not so fabulous:
-I didn’t like the second couple that much but they were very tolerable.
-Music in this drama isn’t much to shout about or to listen again.
Overall, watch for the feel good vibes!

Fluff but has to many annoying side caracters
This drama is mostly very cute and fluffy.Drawbacks: both the best friend and cousin are annoying so i fast forwerded their parts towards the end. There is a bit of posessivness and as in many chineese dramas I wish they would grasp the consept of concent better (this is one of the better ones concent wise but still not there).
Positive: The ML is very sweet and supprotive, smart and very colmb. The FL is smart and strong but has a tad to much self doubt.
Conclusion: This is a really good short fluff drama to rinse your thoughts after seeing something heavy just be were of the toxidity and fast forward the annoying caracters.

The happiest thing is that the one youve been waiting for is also waiting for you
Ok, so i didnt’t really like this drama at the beginning to the point that I couldnt wait to finish it because of boredom. but it had a high rating on MDL so tried to be as open minded as I can be. The reason why I didnt like it was probably because the male lead wasnt my type and probably also because I was so bothered by their height difference to the point I wonder every time they are close, "did the girl adjust her height, stepped on a platform?" Lol. And I just want to comment, this actress ALWAYS gets paired with tall actors. I want her to find someone around her height, Steven Zhang maybe?Dont get me wrong, there are still some things I like about this drama — the second couple. The uncle was more of my type lol. Just the way he teases the girl a lot, I loved them towards the end, i’m gonna miss them more than the main. I also liked Zhong Zhen, how clingy he was TO ALL THE CHARACTERS in the drama lol.
And last thing, I loved the line at their wedding, "The happiest thing is that the one you’ve been waiting for is also waiting for you." I mean, this line really meant a lot especially for me, a 26 y/o no-boyfriend-since-birth. I truly believe that you shouldn’t settle for less ‘cause someday, the one you’ve been wanting for, waiting for you, will come with even great bonuses. So the whole series actually made sense when I heard this line, making me like this at the end. I’m glad I finished it!

Excellent secondary romance, leads too perfect
This is the first drama I've watched where I found the b romance way, way more compelling than the main one. I liked their parts so much it overcame my apprehension with the rest. I felt really strongly about this show and particularly Huang Yi Lin's character, which I know some people may not care for.I'll start with some criticism so I can work up to what I liked: with the main two, it's a lot of staring contest and creepy disregard for personal space, boundaries, and time- even if it's an idealistic fantasy, they come off as border-line if not outright codependent. In my view, they also have basically no legitimate relationship conflict or tension for most of the series besides the workaholism of their jobs, as well as the resultant obligatory jealousy (which to me is just fake, forced conflict). The jealousy always stems from some nobody fringe character who doesn't have a chance- this plotting is exactly the same as so many other dramas. Next, the childhood best friend card is such a cheap characterization tool in dramas. Memory isn't as vivid as such tropes make it out to be. For instance, it's hard for me to believe that a person would still be tied emotionally to someone they met 20 years before as a kid and haven't had contact within that time. And that such a weird attachment would be reciprocated is 1 in 100 million.
Now, then, I absolutely love the FL's best friend. She's ardent, funny, cute, determined, lonely, and wears her heart on her sleeve. I felt really attached to her emotional ups and downs and the headfirst, honest way she contended with her inadequacies (failed business, ignorance about a lot of things, etc). I'm sure some watching found her annoying but I thought Huang Yi Lin's performance was excellent and became the real heart of the show.
The relationship she has with her bookstore neighbor - a hard-shelled guy who somberly underestimates his value and lovability - is so compelling I don't know why this show isn't centered on them. The main two are flat characters in comparison. In my mind, best friend and bookstore guy's (b) romance is much more grounded in organic, real life emotions like being hung up on the past and thus not being able to takes steps forward into the future. They're such different people that the collision between their personalities (mixed with a shared rootedness in kindness) works very well dramatically. The show goes to too many lengths, by contrast, to make the leads seem basically perfect. Walking through the dynamics of complementary flaws is what make shows like this touching, compelling, and intimate, not seeing some successful, impossibly perfect and fated lovebirds who PDA like maniacs and creepily flirt with each other all the time.
Stylistically, this show has way too much slow motion and just a bit too many sound effects (though it's mild compared to other series). There are some really nice, beautiful shots like in the city and with interior spaces like the bbq shop. The cast has good chemistry overall, though like I said I have my hang ups on the main couple which I don't think good acting could possibly fix.
In most dramas, the viewer would want to be like the main couple given their romantic successes, but this show focuses the intimacy and flirting with them so much that it doesn't seem real. The imperfections and conflict of the b romance, though, does what the show should've done with the leads in making characters that strive to overcome their own deficiencies - along with external problems - to grow closer slowly and incrementally. In doing so, they also work through the setbacks and false starts endemic to this style of relationship-building, thus making the outcome earned rather than gifted by the goddesses of fate.

Definitely recommended!
Prior to the drama's release, many people doubted the main lead's chemistry mostly because they were used to Daddi Tang being the second lead. Gotta say he does well to prove everyone wrong. The drama is entertaining from the get-go and immediately there is chemistry between the two leads. The cinematography and lighting is so great in this drama. The visuals are enough to keep you hooked. Their dramatic scenes also hit well and the music complements every scene nicely.
The lawyer-doctor story is enjoyable and interesting to watch, but the romance story between the leads isn't that great in my opinion (hence, the 6.5 story rating) because I don't think it's very engaging or believable to have the male lead love her from the very start because of their strong connection in primary school. And the way the female lead falls for him isn't that engaging either when she only "realizes" it when her friend tries to ship her with the male lead and convince her that he likes her.
Highlight of the drama for me would be the second leads. It's so rare to love the second leads as much or even more than the main leads. I'm more curious about how they will develop and their dynamic is fun to watch.
Overall, it's a very fresh rom-com. It's definitely worth checking out!

Delightful!
I don't really understand why this drama doesn't have a higher rating. It is very romantic, has lots of skinship, is easy to watch and the chemistry between the MC is perfect.I don't often see a ML in a c-drama who so openly adores the FL. Although the FL took her time before falling for him, it didn't go to the extreme where I wanted to throw my PC against the wall.
I loved most of the supporting cast and if the 2FL didn't wear those ridiculous shorts I would have very little to complain about.
If you love romance and a happy ending, watch this!!
