Something raw and fresh
As my title suggests something raw and fresh is totally what I would like to suggest.. Becoz as one can say , the most top notch bl exists definitely one would say Thailand.. Thailand has huge collections of nice, fluffy BLS to dark complicated ones too...And thailand will always be my one for bl stories..And first time seeing a Philippine bl I was totally not devasted at all..It was a tough start, after seeing the first episode I was like should I drop it, or watch it..But then I decided no, once I started watching it..let's get to the end..And definitely I would say it was very good..The story between the main leads and the supporting characters then all the plot line, story was really good man...Sky and ace story was cute and at the same time tense too...There were some scenes where I laughed like mad..Ace dramatic fall in the first episode I can't still forget it..And some other scenes too... And yes it dealt with the issues to how society would accept gay people...But love doesn't need gender..love is love and it may be a love to boy to girl or girl to boy , even boy to boy or girl to girl ..Love is what the feeling between two people, not everybody else's opinion...I really liked how sky parents supported their relationship..And at the same time ace's homophobic father , demanding, a control freak in ace life...At the end he changed too... Lastly I would say sky 's ex girlfriend was I guess the one shitty annoying character I had ever seen in total bl world...How can she be so mean... First place she was the one who broke up with sky..And I totally didn't get it...what was the problem of this girl like actually? She was never ever happy with anything, when sky used to put so much effort in their relationship and all she is to do was mock him, insult his family..Like damn how can she do that..And I was utter shocked what did sky liked in his girlfriend that he didn't want to break up with her, such a bitchy character...she was the one who broke up first..And finally when sky found true love , real love in ace, who supports him, respects him, care for him..There again moira came to ruin their relationship of getting back together with sky... i was like sdhfzkdfhshuwbsajj really girl !! Urghh!! Get a life man.. Prior to that Kim , another girl I would say she was an angel..even though she loved ace..But after knowing the truth ace and Kim confronting each other..she wished him well and supported his love..Unless like moira poisoning her own ex- boyfriend with peanut in the pasta as sky has allergy with peanut..Damn what kind of love was that, she was showing to sky..Just because sky was no more interested in her..It was more like a revenge to kill sky maybe...All these actions by moira were at the end easily again forgiven by sky and ace just with her simple sorry..Damn, what the heck after she released their video of they having sex..Damn girl, how can be one so pathetic and trash..If moira is the girl in real life one should totally avoid, any boy wouldn't date such a hypocrite then Kim was the girl any boy should get hold of ...This perfectly suits my definition thank god the director didn't show much of the drama of moira with sky.. Instead after their breakup we got the real story between ace and sky.. And I liked how here who is top and bottom didn't matter..It's simply two people in love with each other..And their chemistry was really good man...How both enjoyed each other's company much.. Definitely it was raw, something different to the BLS I have watched before and watching... I didn't see those magical moments where main leads stare at each other like shown in other BLS but people following realistically... Not a dreamy land of holding glances, or blinking eyes...So it was different for me all in one and I liked it... Definitely one should go for it..Was this review helpful to you?

Maybe not everyone's cup of tea
Honestly i didn't expected much bc of some of the reviews but it was not that bad actually.First the story i'll be honest they story was simply without to much drama which i liked but i know everybody has different taste.
The act improved at around episode 4-5 . The male lead have some good chemistry and it seems really natural.
Also miss becky is iconic. I inspire to be like her!
Music was not for me but somehow the ost was really catch. And the music they used for other scenes were really suitable.
There are only some things i didn't liked for example Moira. Like it's good that the two forgave her and closed that chapter but still she did some illegal things which are actual punishable by law.
And second episodes were confusing sometimes bc the scene switched suddenly so it was hard to follow on some points.
But all in all i really liked it and i don't regret watching it but everyone really has to see for themselves if they like it or not

Hot Boys and Smut Does Not a 10 This Make
The very first scene in episode 1 got me excited to start this show. The cinematography and production value looked top notch, and it seemed like a good story was right around the corner. By episode 2 I was starting to have my doubts about how much I'd enjoy this show, and by episode 9 I decided it was more of a burden than a joy to watch, so I ended up dropping._____________
Let's start with the GOOD:
• The lead actors do have nice chemistry with one another. Especially as the series progresses, you can tell that they are comfortable with one another and like being around each other. The romance, therefore, feels natural and organic. And yes, the bed scenes are steamy and sexy and fill that hole of carnal desire that other BLs leave behind.
• SOME parts of the story are good--the serious parts. There are a few defining moments that come to mind that I thought were really well acted and scripted. I also appreciate the variety and ingenuity that a different setting (here a baking company and baking competition) and plot can bring to the genre.
_____________
Ok, now on to the BAD:
• The acting. There was this forced naturalness about it that came across as awkward, stiff, and inorganic. I agree with others who have said it seemed like improv. While I think this style works for certain types of scenes, I believe it's better if used sparingly. The acting did improve as the series wore on, but the awkardness wasn't completely erased.
• The story. Oh how I wish the writers/director/whoever had narrowed down the number of episodes and focused solely on the internship, baking competition, and development of Ace and Sky's relationship within that context. It would have made for a more focused, unique story. I liked the creative plot line and new type of challenge(s), as well as the different setting. But no. They had to bring in elements from BL shows we've seen time and time again. I don't always mind when tropes are used, but I'd prefer they be used in a way that actually fits within the story and moves it along. Here, it felt like it was added for manufactured drama and to create more episodes.
• The humor. God I hated the humor. It was like watching something written by a 12 year old boy. Cringe doesn't begin to describe it. Of course, humor is subjective, and if you’re a fan of booger and fart jokes, inappropriate workplace sexual harassment downplayed as something to make fun of and laugh at, and the like, you may like this. Me? I prefer comedy that's a bit more subtle and witty in nature.
• Finally, the product placement. Look, I know companies have to make money in order to create these things. I get that. My problem is that I felt the director/writer could have found a much more creative and seamless way to insert the numerous product placement scenes. Many of them were added out of nowhere and had absolutely nothing to do with the story at all, which made for a jarring and disconnected viewing experience.
_____________
OVERALL, if you're a fan of, for example, Make It Right or The Best Twins, I think you'll enjoy this. I say that not because the stories are similar, but because the comedy is, and the comedy makes up a huge part of this show. I also think you'll enjoy it if you're looking for something simple and silly with good visuals. But if you want something that's a little more serious all-around and consistent in terms of writing, then you may be disappointed. I'd say give it a shot and if you're still liking it by the end of episode 2, then I think this one will please you.

I don’t think it deserves the hate it’s getting
I finished “My Day” at 5:30am this morning after binge watching it for around 8 hours. Needless to say, it was super addicting and totally worth my time. Was it the best BL series I’ve watched in my life? Nah. Was it ridiculous at times and maybe even a little cringey? Probably. But regardless of all that, I ended up loving it WAY more than I expected.
The series overall has some scenes that are random, some are unnecessary and others are uncomfortable to watch. There are some few things that are cliché and annoying (like the psycho ex-girlfriend—fuck you Moira) but there were some other aspects of this series that were new and refreshing as well.
I do believe that the biggest reason why I ended up loving this series so much was the chemistry between the actors that play Ace and Sky. Again, I was not expecting anything out of the series but they managed to surprise me. Their love scenes were... wow. Everyone could tell they were 100% comfortable with each other and the way they looked at one another was very heartwarming and everything felt... real. It’s been a few hours since I finished the series and I keep going back to those because they were just that good.
I’ve been watching BLs since 2016 and have to confess that this was one of the few BL series that has made me want to be in a relationship. With that, I think I say it all.
Go watch it expecting something “meh” and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

If you're not looking for clichés or seeking jaw-dropping acting and plotlines, stop here. This is not for you. The storyline is very rich man and poor love interest, but the BL version. The first few episodes are hard to watch to be honest. I fully embraced skipping through just enough to understand the characters, and mustered through to the better parts. Around episode four is when the plot and acting picks up, and it becomes more watchable. The acting is still just passable until the last three episodes, but the casts chemistry with each other makes up for all the downfalls of My Day.
This has a very Disney feel to it, which fanciful music and over the top scenes with many being laughably dramatic. The villain is believably awful. There a couple things I would have ultimately have liked to be fixed in My Day, but it was an enjoyable watch past a certain point. Definitely not groundbreaking, but cute.
What really shines in this is the chemistry between the two ML's. They're adorable, act naturally together (even in their awkwardness) and have some fire scenes. I came for the ship and stayed for their interactions. Their acting in the last two episodes was great (in my opinion) and they delivered some emotional scenes well.
All in all, not the best series of the year, but the couple outshines its surroundings. I would recommend if you're looking for a light BL, but are okay with a tolerable storyline.

My Fav Pinoy BL Series
No spoilers. :) This is my first Pinoy BL Series. I love everything about this series. The story, cast, acting, cinematography, setting and everything. Despite the pandemic they were able to showcase this kind of series for us. I don’t mind what other bashers are saying about this series. For me, this series will make you laugh, cry, love your family, and definitely fall in love all again! You will be attached to the characters of this series for sure. Watch the series for you to find out ❤️Was this review helpful to you?

even though this is tagged, comedy and yeah its funny- but its weird funny and the exaggeration is fun when it breaks up a really monotone scene, or its unexpected. but there r character's that r just "out there" and then their ability to be funny falls short and turns annoying. like props to the guy that plays Miss Becky (as took me a sec to even "get" that it was a dude playing a woman, just felt she was a bit off - but thought more, she a weirdo not a man in drag) but dude was having too much fun, and it got tedious watching this moron prance around supposedly cleaning the house, heck Cinderella never twirled around as much as Miss Becky - it was bordering or ludicrous. so much so that i just skipped scenes with her.and if that wasn't enough the product placement is ridiculous - like i get it's every drama's "bread and butter" - but here we had Ken, Sky's brother who only existed so he could promote sh*t on his "youtube channel" and he and everyone else found even more opportunities to plug more sh*t - so yeah another character that i just fast-forwarded..
the reason a lot of viewer's r going a bit bonkers about this drama, or this couple (i think) is because of the "chemistry" between the leads - and they certainly had no hang-ups, about being two guys in intimate situations. it was hot and looked natural - so much so everyone was Sure they a real life couple - cause there's no way they could perform the way they did (endless kissing scenes, let along total erotic make out sessions) without be really being into it or each other - and considering the other BL couples, an how they usually balk instead of commit to a kiss, this was hmmm "refreshing" XD...
but i noticed both actors were mirroring each other, so i think they just choreographed the hell out of those scenes - just like a dance or fight scene - which is logical, and little wonder everyone had steam coming out of their ears and other orifices XD...
all in all this was good and fun (heck lasted until episode 12) and there were great character's that added to the plot but when the ending is basically a copout - where everyone needs to play Jesus, cause that's the right thing to do and a person that wasn't just bad, but down right evil and a very unstable mentally basically got away with murder cause.. well i didn't get the logic - just lost the will to keep watching for even a sec more - this was a disappointment..

This stort is okay with only the main characters in focus
We’re to start. For me it became too much noise, too many comical characters and really unbelievable side stories and dramas.I liked Sky and Ace. Their chemistry and acting was the only thing that kept me from dropping this show. And that Moira debacle and how it was resolved? Please, this ruined a lot for me.
I think this story has so much more potential. With create cast in main characters, friends and Sky’s family, this story could easily been told with only that. Throughout all the episodes, I started out with only two stars, worked myself up to five, could have gone to a 6,5 without a certain forgiving scene, but thanks to that I ended up with four stars.

Been There, Done That
This drama comes from the Philippines but it mimics the BL formula so often seen in Thailand. Indeed, it reminds me of the popular Sotus Series where the leads being the story hating each other and remain so dysfunctional that it stretches credibility these two would ever go out on a second date. Screenwriting 101 says that your main characters should be likable, or at least show a glimmer of redemption value. Also borrowing from the Thai BL formula, there's a lot of cartoon-like, farcical secondary characters, many with offensive stereotypes. That's too bad, because I think this could have earned an 8 or 9 for story if they'd created more realistic sub-characters. Aside from the cliche characters, even the cliche scenes are here, including the tiresome one of our heroes waking up in bed together in gay panic. On the plus side, the cinematography is first rate -- almost too good for this production. Sky's (Miko Gallardo) monologue in the final episode in the rain is beautifully shot (rain is extremely hard to photograph, by the way) and Miko gives a heartfelt performance. If you get turned off to the silliness of the first 11 episodes, please at least watch this scene. It's the highlight of the series. Too bad the rest of the production didn't measure up. One final observation: It's a pretty sad state of affairs when an episode (8/4) gets an "R" rating when the only thing that happens is two boys kissing. Was this review helpful to you?

Mix between good and bad
Story 4.3The show started good in the first 6 episodes but from episode 7 to 12, if went off. Also, I didn't understand the message of it being a "I'm PROUD to be gay" story. Our main characters brother is gay and I generally thought Sky was BI, like even though Moria was toxic I knew at the beginning he did love her and wanted to make to work, but because show plot, she's a a rude high maintenance bitch. I felt the Sky saying the whole I'm proud to be gay was rushed in there, in my honest opinion I felt Ace should be the one to say that. Also, I hated no on tried to look into the leak sex tape. They've should've had suspected the waiter at least, but because show plot they didn't.
Ost 2.3
Music was ehh, and there's nothing else to say.
Acting 5.6
The acting was okay, not enough to stop watching. Just to say scenes are meant to make me cry didn't. Other than that I loved the rain scene, and I loved Ace's power bottom energy.

One of My Favourite Pinoy BL's Along With Hello Stranger!
My Day is probably the most anticipated filipino BL's, especially on social media! I see so many people mention how excited they were for this series, so of course, I had to check it out when it aired. The first teaser which showed the elevator scene wasn't anything special, but its trailer was very impressive, showcasing a budget and production value that I have yet to see in pinoy BL's. I love that pinoy BL's are getting high budgets! For the budget though, couldn't the slightly blurry cinematography be crisper? The audio could also be clearer. The music, though pretty, is a bit too much, making it feel like a Disney fairytale story with its flourishes which clearly it isn't. The acting could be better also as it felt like everyone was trying too hard. However, I love that this series is taking the classic story of poor meets rich, but with a BL twist. The story is quite interesting and I am already completely hooked just by watching the first episode. Yes, there are some flaws in the story, mainly the mean girlfriend trope and the comedic fat gay trope, but the set-up of Ace and Sky's story is perfect. I love that the series will be exploring parental expectation/pressure in Ace's character. On a side note, I was surprised to hear some English swearing with a few f*ck's said within the first episode. Also, when Sky's brother threw water at Sky's girlfriend when she was frightened by an insect falling on her, I died! That was comedic genius! I LOVED that moment and couldn't stop laughing!
On a different side note, I'm okay with product placement in series but when the product being advertised is an instant skin whitening lotion. Just no. There's already a huge colorism issue in Asian countries. We don't need our BL's to perpetuate the idea that fair skin is better and more desirable than darker skin. And there wasn't just one skin whitening product placement, but two! All in one episode! Hopefully, there won't be anymore distasteful product placements in the series.
Episode 2 wasn't as strong as the first episode. There wasn't any progression in Ace and Sky's relationship at all. Just Sky continuing to mess up and Ace getting angry at Sky. On a side note, it's kinda weird to see someone so mean and arrogant be so kind and tender towards his pet dog. Ace with his dogs reminded me of Jeffree Star and his own dogs to be honest lol. The plot of this episode felt forced and predictable. Of course, Sky had to go to the bathroom and leave Jam in charge of Chukchuk whereas Jam just so happened to get a phone call and just so happened to take the call outside, leaving the door open for Chuchuk to escape. Why couldn't Jam take the call inside? There was no one near him who could hear his conversation anyways? It was so obvious that Sky was going to mess up again and get on Ace's last nerve. Hopefully, there will be some actual progression between Sky and Ace in the next episode.
Episode 3 was much better than the previous episode as there was actual progression in Ace and Sky's relationship. As many other people have stated, Ace's attitude change was quite abrupt and random though very much welcomed. It was nice seeing him start to care for Sky. I hope that both of their girlfriends won't come on the trip so that Sky and Ace can start to deepen their relationship!
Episode 4 was quite good too! I loved seeing Sky and Ace's relationship develop and deepen during a team-building vacation at a resort! I LOVED how Sky chose Ace over the girl during the grouping activity! I lol'ed! So many kilig scenes! My heart! The product placements were quite random though. I cannot wait to see the next episode! My Day has become my favourite BL that is currently airing!
Episode 5 was another great episode in which Ace and Sky's relationships continued to grow! So much KILIG!!!!!! I LOVE IT! Also, Ace's coming out to Kim was quite touching. I am LOVING this show! Definitely my most favourite BL series that is currently airing at the moment!
Episode 7 was a bit slower as it focused on the cake competition but the ending brought quite a surprising turn to the story. At first, I was so sure that Ace of Cakes was going to win the competition, but then I realized that story-wise, it would make more sense to have them lose so that there will be more material to mine from. On a related note, Ace's father needs to f*cking chill! The fact that an intern got second place is hugely impressive, especially since he was competing with top chefs from top cake companies around the world. I highly doubt that Ace of Cakes won first place at the cake competition every year before. And anyways, if the cake competition was so important, why did Ace's father give it to Ace? Why not give Ace something smaller, especially since the father thinks that Ace is so incompetent? It didn't make much sense.

Good Chemistry but the rest are - meh!
Another PH BL ended, one for me that started strong then gone messy. The chemistry of the two mains is so good, but the consistent loose/illogical story/plot brought the show in a lackluster end. In fact, I think the saving grace of this show and the negatives in bay was the chemistry of the two mains.
I don't know if this show has a lot of budget compared to the other PH BL that was airing during its first episode up to the last and if that affected the flow of the show. BUT one is sure, it has good main leads, good visuals, a lot of irritating side characters, a weak script and messy directing. And it has steamy scenes, which to be honest is steamy! The OST too is upbeat but again, not as good as other PH BL's OST.
Again, this is just purely the viewing experience that I had felt the watching it up to the 8th episodes. After that, much like Oxygen, I lost interest. But at least with this show, I was able to enjoy up to ep8.
