Peter Ho and Janine Chang are very good actors that had great chemistry together. They were intense which was what was needed for their characters.
The music is perfect. I have been trying to find the music on youtube and itunes, but so far no luck. If any of you out there know where I can find it then please let me know. :-)
It was quick to watch the first time, so I can see myself rewatching this in the future.
If you like melodrama, then this is definitely a drama to watch. It only takes about 2 1/2 hours.

Whoever lit the set on this show did a wonderful job. There's nothing overly unique about the cinematography, but the pictures looked sexy, very cinematic.
Great direction of the camera too. With very short episodes the story doesn't have much room to develop, but the choice of shots were effectively used to enhance the dramatic effect of each scene. In particular the numerous high angle shots made the subjects seem more desperate, vulnerable, passionate or whatever emotion the director tried to evoke.
I haven't seen such high production values on an Asian TV show in a long time.
Acting was average. No standouts, but no irritating performances either. Good chemistry and intimacy between the leads. The little boy was really cute and sweet.
If I had any problem with the show it was with our hero. Arrogant, rude, self - centred male leads don't bother me. Most men in real life are like that anyway, until they meet a woman who inspires them to change. I like watching this transformation so I can forgive a lot of bad behaviour if I know deep down he has a good heart, but there was something about Le Jun Kai that made me uncomfortable. He had a violent streak toward the women in his life that I didn't like. Even though his motivations for being angry were valid I just can not trust a man whose first impulse is to resort to violence, especially against women. It's not a good sign. And I know, I know! It’s just a tv show, but still, I don't like it.
Aside from that the series was good. It works the way it is, but wouldn't have suffered from a slightly longer run time for each episode, say 30 mins instead of the current 15. Just to give the story more oomph & to allow the characters to really capture your heart.
Overall, well worth the watch if you're looking for a quick fix or if you’re in between dramas like I was and can not decide what next to watch.

The acting was great, I liked the acting and feelings.
The music was good, I mean, as always - Peter is doing a great job.
Overall, I think that it´s good that it was so short because it was intense and there was always something happening. Definitely recommending this to those who like intense dramas.

Reviewing this drama is quite tough. It was one of those dramas where I feel like a lot of people found fault in it but at the same time, A drama that had me going "I get it." It's a drama for me that has some very clever details that I really appreciated. There's actually some symbolism here that either I'm reading too much into it or that many people missed. One is the theatrical scenes. I don't mean in the sense of ludicrosity because there were those but there were elements of theatre here that I really liked. Especially the ending. I think a lot of people focused on the face value presentations that they missed out this odd little things that actually make me rate this far higher than the story deserves.
The story in dramatic fashion is a stockholm syndromed girl vs total arsehole turned mildly decent guy. Jun Kai is a character that had it not been for the director and stellar script (at very few moments that mattered), I would have gritted my teeth through this whole ordeal but alas, he is somewhat saved by some very decent directing moments. His abuse towards the female lead is something I really tolerate but her response towards him was even more intolerable. Nonetheless, the climax of the movie saves them both. It could have been done better but I actually liked it.
It goes all Enrique Eglesias in Hero where Le Jun Kai finds his girl in a predicament and he has to save her. However, there's actually a lot of symbolism in here. The ending was actually very well done for me. A lot of people finished this and immediately ranted about how ridiculous it was but for me it turned into a cinematic stage where you have to understand what's happening. This is so annoying to state without giving spoilers. Peter ho also makes this ending very good for me and I find he for the most part, delivers decent acting. Ugh, okay my review sucked but this is a drama I need to go on a long discussion about.

At some point while "Le Jun Kai" was airing, I accidentally started watching this on Viki when I clicked on "Le Jun Kai" instead of something else. I had never seen a Chinese drama before, and I figured that it could be decent. ((Spoiler: It sucked))Story: Let me just start out by saying that none of the characters in this drama should be allowed to reproduce- ever. Please do us all a favor and *don't* contaminate our gene pool with your stupidity. What sort of idiot kid just goes with some creepy guy as soon as his mother's name is thrown out into the air? What sort of messed up wife would still love her husband after he raped and abused her? What the heck is wrong with all these characters?
I just. I can't even begin to describe all the ways these characters made me lose my faith in humanity- and let's not even talk about the titular character, Le Jun Kai. How many flavors of cray-cray can one guy be? You're rich, right? Get a good therapist.
Other than that, there were a grand total of TWO smart, kind decent characters, and between them they got a grand total of two minutes of screen time. In fact, most of the show was taken up by the mom or some other character (but mostly the mom) saying "Tian Tian!". Needless to say, I don't think I'll be forgetting the name any time soon.
Acting: Okay, Jeanine and Peter are amazing actors. They have great chemistry and adding an extra layer to their characters but, unfortunately, could not save the cesspool of suck that was this drama. The kid needs a ton of improvement, and everyone else was decent.
Music: I loved the opening music- it was epic and intriguing. In fact, the opening music was probably the best part of this drama.
Rewatch Value: No. Nein. Never ever. Just no.
Overall: The only reason this ewas even remotely entertaining was because it was so ridiculous. However, the amount of brain-cells I lost head-desking does not and will never make up for the low entertainment value. I feel like I've wasted the 2 hours it took to watch this stuff.

The set exceptional.
The filming beautiful.
The opening track to this drama is gripping.
With that being said this is the most chucked up drama I have ever watched and I've watched He Was Cool ---as you can see the bar was not set high lol.
The stroyline is brutal emotionally abusive and unbelievable to the point you cringe through it and I would never recommend anyone to watch this. I think rolling your eyes in glass is easier to take then sitting through the 9 ep's of this ball of crazy.
I never leave a bad review on anything I always try to point out the good in anything I watch but this was a box of crazy to the point I felt bad for the actors involved.
Would I watch it again? Nope. Not with a goat under a boat under the sea...
Save yourself and go watch something happy.

Unless you are a Peter Ho completionist, I wouldn't recommend this drama. It is so short that the episodes seem completely plotless and all the actors' emotions just seem too over the top for the scant amount of storyline.
Filming-wise, it is nicely shot and the music is quite lovely as well. Unfortunately, both seemed designed for a much longer series. You only just settle into the episode and, suddenly, up swells the beautiful theme music. It only leaves you with more and more questions.
Peter Ho (and his magnificent nose) does a fine job expressing a tortured soul. What made him so tortured we may never quite know.

Nothing makes much sense...and the end...... so sudden! The female lead is the only good thing about this series. There is a lot of hate I agree but even that is so coarse and the scenes end up abruptly too. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone not even if you are bored and this is the last drama to watch in the world.

The story line from start kept you on your toes. If you are into mob shows and know what they are all about this one is for you to see. I will have your emotional scale going up and down.
Peter Ho and Janine Chang are very good actors. The chemistry between them is totally awesome.
The music and be found on you tube.

This is 70s romance novel gets a fanfic makeover on wattpad and then someone decided to make a screen play...sort of.
Made into a movie and drama. Why? Because someone let them.
It's a crap drama with actors that can act that somehow becomes entertaining because, you can't believe you're still watching this crap.
So it works.
Dude with no chill, seeks revenge and silly doormat lets him.
Peter Ho never looked uglier or greasier.
Wack-to the A, editing. Like woo, dudes did ya'll try?
Low budget costuming. I never understood how they can play up how much money someone has....but, they have only one or two ill-fitting outfits. And on the flip, I was confused that the person who couldn't afford to food had more clothing changes. Like maybe you should by a chicken instead of a lace blouse?
Funniest lines in the whole thing
"She's dead!" and "I'm fine".
It's okay to laugh through the last 5 minutes of the movie and drama.
It's not a must watch.
But, yes I've watched it more than once.
You'll see a lot of Thai offerings in the recommendations, I suggest you watch any of those instead.
