Cheng Xiao & Luo Yunxi Zero Chemistry

I like Cheng Xiao, I like Luo Yunxi. Supposedly both of them combined in a drama would've given me happiness & satisfactory, right? Wrong.

Include this, i've watched 3 of Cheng Xiao drama and none of them worthy of anything really. As a danseur, Cheng Xiao is a goddess, she has much more expression & flexibility while dancing rather than acting. Her acting skill is so poor that I consider to will never watch her drama ever again.

Luo Yunxi is good in this drama, but the story itself didn't leave any room for his character development. So Li Zhe Liang was rather flat through out the drama.

The story plot was not interesting enough. The pace was slow with much filler such as multiple shots just for one scene. E.g while Su Xie Yi choosing the painting in gallery, and Li Zhe Liang guessing which art she would choose, the scene run for almost 6 minutes! Out of 45min this episode spent 6min on 1 single scene alone. That was sssllloooowwww.

ML & FL had almost zero chemistry as a lover. FL could be a much better chemistry as ML friend. But as a lover? Naaah,,

The motion songs were not worthy enough to be added to my playlist.
Other supporting character also lacking. I was dragging myself to the end of the drama while fast forwarding here and there.

Conclusion: please Cheng Xiao, either you get more acting class or rather stay out of acting at all and just be a great dancer.
Cheng Xiao & Luo Yunxi was so mismatched & lack of chemistry. Even the kiss seemed bland.

This show is so sinister, title could've been Sin to Love instead.

The first few episodes are so boring I almost dropped the show. I think I skipped so much more than I watched.

This show is so sinister, it should be tagged as deception, suicide, frame-up, cover-up, kidnapping, arson, and it even has coercion/blackmail in it. So if you're looking for something to pass time and make your heat flutter, then this one is not for you.

I saw the ML actor on Love is Sweet, so I thought I would also love this one. But I was so wrong. Acting wise, I think the show was saved by the 2nd ML. He did a really good job acting the role of a love crazed villain. From a very caring brother in law to a very obsessed twisted man real quick. I'll take brutality, gruesome action sequence that usually ends in death anytime over this.

The sweetness of the ML and the FL is so short, it felt a bit mediocre to me.

Plot twist after plot twist after more twists

I thoroughly enjoyed this drama although i have to say that i started this drama for both the leads. Needless to say, their acting never failed me and i saw great improvement in CX's acting.

I knew that 'Ming Hao' was a little sketchy at the start. This drama had a lot of the mystery element from the start and i like it cause I have been watching too much rom-com these days.Although I would like the amnesia part to be more delved into; it was a little too vague in my opinion.

The romance part of this drama bring out different emotions from me at different point of times, this proves that the story was well written and that the casts? DID AMAZINGLY WELL.

Lovers that have to face tragic setbacks

The story is good, it wasn't too long or too short and gave the leads enough time to go through ups and downs together, but I do wish that more screen time was given to the supporting roles to develop their romance.

Cheng Xiao's acting wasn't that good in this compared to Falling Into Your Smile, maybe due to the age gap between Yun Xi and also possibly because her character is supposed to be mature to an extent in this drama. I liked that they used their real voices (I believe), but there is a lack of facial expressions and the proper emotions during some of her scenes that make it lacking.

The OSTs were okay, but sometimes it's a bit distracting and loud and this might be a personal thing, but when Chinese dramas use songs with complete English lyrics it's a bit cringe in my opinion, but I don't often care that much for OSTs.

I'm just not a rewatcher in general so don't mind that.

Not what I expected, but not bad!

OVERALL
A typical romance with business drama on the side. Watch it if 1) you're looking for a cute love story with decent amount of skinship, 2) you like business backstabbing and crime solving, 3) you enjoy outspoken female leads. Think twice if you 1) need the Male Lead to be a flawless Prince Charming, 2) get annoyed when the bad guys always outsmart the good guys, 3) you can't stand lazy writing.

THE STORY
I think the first episode of this drama is kind of false advertisement. The drama starts with Female Lead being all Charlie's Angels, Femme Fatale spy...only to never have her be that great again haha I was really looking forward to this so I was kind of disappointed, but the drama was not bad, I finished it in four days!

The Good
- Female Lead isn't super smart or strong/kickass, but she acts her age and she's not afraid of saying what she thinks, which already makes her better than half of the C-drama girls out there.
- This drama involves physical disability, and in a very wholesome way. That's the first time I ever see this in a C-drama (or any drama), and it's really necessary. For that alone, I liked it a lot!
- Female Lead and Male Lead don't hate each other at first (hurray! honestly getting so tired of that trope). While you never quite understand when they fall in love with each other, they make a cute couple and the drama is generous with the sweet, romantic scenes.
- The business action/drama, at least at the beginning, is actually interesting.

The Bad
- The good guys are just not that smart, and it's painful to watch.
- An annoying and persistent second Female lead makes everything almost unbearable towards the end.
- A few parts are confusing and clearly show bad writing (eg. by the end, did Female Lead ever lose her memory or not?)
- I'm tired of crazy psychopaths. Just saying. C-dramas need to outgrow them and give us sane, realistic villains.

Overall, the drama was okay and I do recommend it, despite its flaws. It's a good filler!

THE ACTING
Good enough! I like Cheng Xiao, don't ask me why. Not much chemistry with the main actor, but they did the job (they weren't cringe, so it was fine!). The rest of the cast was okay too!

THE MUSIC
Yeah...not a fan.

REWATCH VALUE
I mean, maybe I'll rewatch, but I'm not sure. It feels like a one-timer. I liked it, but I didn't LOVE it. But maybe with time I'll miss it? haha

Unique blend of different genres and excels in all of them

The show has a good mix of different elements - romance, thriller, mystery, comedy, business drama etc. None of them feel "tacked on", they feel like a serious part of the drama. For example the business discussions get quite technical about financial things etc. The thrilling scenes really get my heart pounding. The mysteries have lots of plot twists. The romantic scenes can be amazingly touching (especially proposal scene), etc.

The pacing of this show is really great. It starts off and quite quickly gets to be running at 110% speed, then suddenly just over half way through it slows down and there are some light, romantic episodes. And then it ramps up again to a big finale. I really liked the way it was structured.

This is the 4th C-Drama I've finished so I'm not an expert but I do appreciate this show not falling into common bad practices. Such as misunderstandings which last for many episodes (all misunderstandings are quickly resolved) or plot holes being ignored (everything gets a satisfying explanation).

There are sooo many comments about the FL's acting but it didn't bother me personally. I should mention that I'm not really someone who notices acting skills (in other shows including US produced shows, I haven't noticed bad actors until people pointed it out to me). But to me, the way she acted just seemed very comfortable with the ML. I liked that.

One criticism I would have is that there are no real side couples. They tease two potential side couples but it never really amounts to anything. Because of that, some of the scenes with the supporting characters just ended up feeling a bit pointless. I think the supporting characters could have been cast differently to create more believable chemistry.

The OST is amazing, lots of relaxing romantic songs, including some with English lyrics.

Overall I think you should definitely watch this show, it's a great story which kept me entertained to the end. I don't usually watch things again but if I did, I would probably watch it again, just as "comfort food" because it's very sweet.

It was my first time watching Luo Yun Xi and I must say he is is my favorite now.

Maximum C-Drama I had watch is Rom-Com this is the first C-drama I watched where there is mystery. I loved Luo's acting here. Last few episode I didn't liked much. I second villain quite annoying but I liked the actors acting. Played well of being a psycho lover. Loved the proposal scene. Overall it was a good series and short a try at least for Luo.
Most importantly there is no second and third lead which was a relief.

I love the Opening track and Luo Yun Xi also sing a song in it.

Lies were the least of this love story’s problems

The business storyline in this was good. It had some nice layers. However, the SML’s involvement was over the top. Everything he did was about his obsession with the FL. It would’ve made more sense if greed was driving his behavior. But then again the writers did a good job at showing how creepy and insane he was so that kind of helped justify his actions.

One of the funniest moments in the series that probably shouldn’t have been was when he thought he was going to take the easy way out to prevent being arrested, by leaping to his death off a building, only to land on a huge air mattress which saved his life. He was immediately arrested and carted off to jail. Lol.

I liked that the ML wasn’t perfect. He was an amputee on the verge of being an alcoholic. His disability wasn’t focused on much to start, but did come into play a little more in the later episodes, adding depth to the romance. Speaking of which, the romance was a good story. I liked that the leads met by chance during a rock climbing excursion, connected, lost touch after that weekend together then happened to meet again two years later but under unscrupulous circumstances. The business conflict threatening to destroy any chance at them having a future provided nice conflict as did the crazy SML. Though I got sick of him in the last few episodes. Additionally the FL,, would frequently make foolish decisions which would cause unnecessary difficulties for her and the ML

Though the writing for the romance was strong, the problem was the leads. They had no chemistry. This was mainly due to the FL who I’m sorry to say is a horrible actress. Unlike Luo Yunxi, she had no charisma. She put no emotions into the character except when she was trying to cry. Her line delivery was flat. Many times it was almost as if she was just reading the lines off a piece of paper.and she infused no zest into her character, leaving the FL with no personality. As the series went on I found that she would’ve made a great cyborg in the Terminator movies. That’s how bad her acting was.

Overall the series was watchable. It wasn’t bad. It was just okay. I think if a better actress was cast as the FL it .would’ve improved the show tremendously.

Good concept, bad execution

Cast:
The cast for this drama is great and I was expecting quite a bit, but it just didn't work. Luo Lunxi is a good actor and that is undeniable, and in this drama he performs well and embodies his character perfectly. Cheng Xiao, on the other hand, is considerably newer to the acting world, and although her performance in LTL is much better than FIYS, she still lacks in many ways. I find that she doesn't fit the character she plays, and the FL and ML put together just don't have that chemistry that I look for.
The side characters are possibly my favorite part of the drama, and each one of them portrays their role so extremely well. Huo Jian and Xie Ming Hao are portrayed very well by their actors, and give a very convincing performance to the point where you hate them when you see them. Everyone does well in their roles, and I think that overall casting was done really well for this drama.
Plot:
When I watched the trailer and read the preview, they were extremely intriguing, and when you watch the first few episodes, that's exactly what you get. However, after around 15 episodes, the story starts to drag. This may be due to the fact that most c-dramas are stretched to 30+ episodes, leading them to needing an extra segment. Both villains are extremely important to the plot, but that period between the two villains is what I think is dragged out. The romance between the two leads is similar to that of a fairytale, with no real issues, and although it is a good watch, they put too much time into it IMO.
OST:
There's really no debate on this, the OSTs for LTL are insanely good, and they fit the story very well. I've had the album on repeat for awhile now and I still want to keep listening to them. I think that the OSTs were made extremely well, and that they are one of the parts that I look forward most to.

Overall, this story is a good watch, but there is a certain number of episodes that aren't exactly necessary.

Lie to keep me interested.

This series had a strong interesting start. I have seen both leads in other series and was very curious how this would land. The cast was very strong. However, some scenes started to drag at times to lengthen the episodes. The chemistry between the leads was minimum. Let's just say the ML and FL acted out the script. At no time did the characters make you want more. After episiode 20 where the main relationship is 'solidified' it was touch and go. It is a solid series as far as production. However, the OST was distracting at times. This definitely needed a cleaner edit to keep things from feeling like it would never end. All on all, the story itself was interesting but the execution missed the mark.

Disappointed by this drama storyline too draggy

I started this drama because of main leads and reading storyline which seems pretty good at starting, but it lacks at storyline.
Means villians are too ahead of the leads.
they know more than leads, means it felt like main leads have no idea about it. It was like they were just playing something.

Seriously means this drama became too draggy atleast for me who never skips any episode of any dramas, but this drama was like too predictable and too slow literally I felt like so good actors ,but was lacking in their expressions and affections.
I have watched previous dramas of both actors and in fell in love with them and even villian is great actor himself , but literally this storyline and plots were too much .

Heroine was not manipulating at all she gave in all to villains means because of her I felt villians were getting more aware about heros intention .
At starting she was street smart but after some point she was lacking common sense as well seriously

This is first drama were i have written negative comments ,i have never imagined I will do this with my favourite actors at some point of time I think in the end story should be great

Seriously I am disappointed
