For the first time in my life I felt like a show was immensely underrated
This series is quite wholesome with slice of life feels to it. Its a piece of art. We r watching this series through Yeon Woo's point of view , so we only get to know what he knows .Its like someone went through his journal and brought to life the most indispensable moments of his life. I have watched thousands of dramas from many different countries but very few have touched the way it has . There is something poetic about the way it has been. You can see the effort everyone put in it. Hats off to the director who shot this so beautifully and gave us something so precious which will be always close to my heart. This series is a roller coaster ride of emotions one moment you r laughing n the other moment u r crying. This made me realize how wonderful it is being able to see let alone seeing colors, such a simple thing that we take for granted but there are people out there who don't have this privilege, how sad n depressive life would be if there were no colors in life, how you never importance of somethings until you have lost them, how heart wrenching it is to get something and losing it again, when you have never experienced something u never know what you have lost
Anyways, since we r watching it from Yeon Woo's perspective the way mono probe relationship is shown initially is how he perceive it to be and by the end of it we viewers along with him realize that not every mono probe is same just as not every human being is same. About color rush happening every time, when mono looks at probes face it doesn't sit well with me, why does it has to be face why not eyes, with the whole story based on the premise of being able to see colors, it would have been more poetic if the color rush were to happen every time they look into each other eyes, the light reflected from the retina of probes retina changes to a certain wavelength which when falls on monos retina activates red n green cones giving him the ability to see colors
Regarding acting, both ml were brilliant , im not familiar with any of their works before so it was my first time watching them maybe thats why i was able to see them only as Yeon Woo n Yoo Han or that actors fully immersed themselves in the characters. The way Yoo Jun has played is exceptional I liked his body language he was very confident in it he showed inner struggles of Yeon Woo real well. But with whom I was most impressed was Hyun Jun, he owned Yoo Han. The display of his emotions of want, need were so strong that I was able to them from the other side of the screen which btw rarely happens with me. For me Hyun Jun was the star of this show, you could feel his desperation, his desire to hold on. I was surprised when I saw only this project listed in acting career on mdl, I hope to see more work from him cause his talent too precious to be not shared with the world it would be our loss.
Kudos to the director, for the way he shot this show you could actually see the world through Yeon Woo’s eyes. I think the director deserves all the credits for making such a beautiful show. Though it was a risqué to shot the way he did because the audience were privy to a whole lot of information which left us questioning like what really happened to YWs mom n whats going on with Min Jae’s old man n how much progress Yi Rang made on her quest to look for her sister. But their choice makes sense with format n budget. Usually we don’t see a whole series told from a single person’s pov so it was quite refreshing too watch.
Visuals were good the way world transitions between colored n mono was done beautifully especially YW’s eyes during color rush look magnificent. Regarding color rush, I didn’t like the color scheme during the sequence, it looked, for lack of better word, cheap.
BGM was good, played at just the right places. The only issue I had was that at few places.,I couldn’t hear the actors.
Overall, it's a feel-good show to watch while being wrapped up in blanket n eating ice cream especially when you are emotionally vulnerable.

Short and Sweet
I cant explain my feelings for this drama. It was just too short that i wanted to cry i wished it was longer. I am new to the faces but i loved there acting overall. I watched this a few months ago but i just got around to write a review now.I have rewatched this numerous of times on numerous occasions. You could finish this in less than 4 hours if you binge watch it. Please watch it you wont regret but if you dont like BL then this is not the creamer for your coffee, oh to hell with that just watch the drama and get out of reality. Sweet, Short and rare.

A good drama but it needed more
I can say that this drama was quite good for one of the first BLs I ever watched. The storyline was captivating and I fell for the actor's chemistry. The plot was quite interesting and the concept of 'monos' and 'probes' was executed well throughout the drama, with monos avoiding probes with fear of having a dangerous obsession. This drama could have been quite dark but it was made so that it had possibilities of being light hearted. They did the plot justice and it's a great watch if you want something short but sweet.Let me say that I know different viewers love different tropes, and I know toxic or forced relationships are not for everyone. The relationship between Yeon Woo and Yoo Han...I wouldn't call it toxic but I also wouldn't call it perfect. Yoo Han seems to captivate Yeon Woo, maybe because of his personality, but I would say their relationship is built upon the 'mono and probe' aspect. It could be considered love but the concept is something I've never seen before in a drama, let alone a BL. Although their type of relationship was not really for me, their acting and chemistry was great and they made the romance look seemingly natural, although it did feel a bit rushed at the end.
Yoo Jun's acting was amazing and his character was well written. Though I feel that the plot to his missing mother needed more storyline to it. He acted exactly like I imagined his character would- reserved but also unsure, and possibly scared of his relationship with Yoo Han. Heo Hyun Jun was a bit robotic at times, but he still did his character justice and served the character 'hot idol' well.
The music was amazing and overall, I believe what this drama needed to truly be 10/10 is more time. In such a short time span (8x15) this story was not able to flow as well as it should have. If the episodes were longer, we could have had so many more possibilites to the characters and the side plots, as well as the 'mono probe' aspect.
Overall, this drama is a great one time watch and a good opener to BL dramas.

Amazing plot, so little time
I love the concept of monos and probes, but I am not going to lie, I am a little sad that I did not get more time to learn and see both of their in depth point of views. It's so interesting and intriguing that it makes me want to learn more; but sadly it's just a (very) short series. The relationship between monos and probes are so on edge because of so many problems but in theirs (the main couple) it ended up balancing out at the end, and all of their worries end up being somewhat resolved.
To be honest, I recommend it very much, the visuals are insane and all the characters bring something into the story.

Despite the small budget, there are some visually stunning scenes and the OST is beautiful. Sometimes the dialogue is a bit awkward, which isn't entirely the actors' fault, but the screenwriter's. The acting was ok. While Heo Hyun Jun seems a bit stiff and expressionless at times, theres' something about him, that intrigued me. I'd really like to see him in a Bad Boy role.
The whole Mono/Probe thing...I cannot decide whether I find it a brilliant metaphor for queerness, or a cringey fanfic trope.

My Vote For Color Rush 2!
I loved this one so much!! It was too short! I would’ve loved to have seen these storylines extended to a regular-length drama. I found the quirks that our two main characters have to be very interesting and also would’ve been curious to see what the writers did with the storyline of where Yeon Woo’s mom disappeared to.The romance was believable, and I’m impressed and proud of the direction the Korean industry is going with LGBTQ stories.
Also, Yoo Han is beautiful and I thought Hur Hyun Jun played his character pretty good for his first acting gig! I definitely hope to see him in more projects/dramas in the future.

Not for everyone. But my favorite Viki BL
First things first, Color Rush has a very weird concept and I understand why people would skip it. I was honestly surprised by how dark this shows started and the actual Color Rush moment visually surprised me.From the original Viki mini dramas, Color Rosh is my favorite one. The main actors have amazing chemistry and both did a great job. The main concept, at first glance, is weird and might sound a bit silly, same with the color rush scenes. But it's originality won me over. I’m not the biggest fan of school setting BLs because they tend to be too cheesy or whiny, but this show is kinda dark sometimes. I think the show dealt with some heavy topics (violence, grief, mental health...) in a good way.
I admit that the secondary plot line like the ghost that speaks to Min Jae, or the issue around Yeon Woo's mom and the missing Mono's goes nowhere. The missing Monos and the mom disappearing probably only exists to make his aunt travel. But I feel like it's important in the series’ universe to show how Monos are dangerous (as we see on tv every time it's on) and maybe are targeted. I expected Yoo Han to have an ulterior reason to being so obsessed with Yeon Woo so quickly. Obviously, we find out in the end that being able to recognize Yeon Woo is more than enough. But I kinda expected him to be a jerk or be scared at some point, so that not happening was refreshing. I also enjoyed the side characters and the music.

A cute, entertaining short story - trigger warnings at the end
Don't expect a fully fledged thriller plot - it's 8 episodes of about 20 minutes (five of which are credits). The story focuses on the two main characters' relationship and how it grows, period. And you know what? That's okay! No everything need to be 32 episodes. The story as it is is well paced, has likeable characters and surprising emotional depth. There is no unnecessary miscommunication drama, no great violence and/or answering BAMFness or such - they're both very normal, every day people despite the setting. It is a simple, entertaining show that knows what it wants to do and say.
The pluses, for me (spoiler-ish! Beware!): Yoo Han's utter absence of filter. Yeon Woo's aunt being a good parental figure for once. Next to no "he's a rapey asshole but I love him" stuff or boundary violations, and I forgive what little there is because they're teenagers and we all mess up. On screen kisses!! Hawll's eyes.
The show is overall cute and fluffy but it requires some TRIGGER WARNINGS (beware, contain spoilers)
Mentions of: Systematic oppression. Bullying. Murder, assault, kidnapping.
On screen/Explicit: Kidnapping. Depression. Violence ideation. Suicide.

Worth the watch :D
The story: I've read a lot of fanfictions and the whole "You see colors for the first time when you see your soulmate" and also at the end they revealed that Yoo Han can't identify faces and can only see Yeon woo's face kind of tropes is really popular but it's the first time I've seen it in a series that's why I enjoyed Color Rush a lot, it's like when they turn your favorite book into a movie. That's the kind of feeling I got and I love it.Acting/Cast: Don't get me wrong Yoo Jun and HyunJun's chemistry is amazing but the acting sort of weirded me out a little bit especially the two other classmate they had, Joo Haeng and Min Jae, they had to act as the two main characters friends. They were funny but it was just weird for me and felt unnatural. Yoo Jun did a great job as Yeon woo, a little stiff at some parts but still good. As for Hyunjun his acting as Yoohan was alright? I just feel like every time he was talking he didn't have any sort of emotion and he was only talking in one tone. I really love and adore Hyunjun because I was a fan of The boyz but I know he can improve more!
Music: The OST for Color Rush is the reason why I love this series so much. It's so good and although they only have 2 songs, I've played them on repeat to the point my mom got annoyed with me. The OST's fit the series a lot and it's seriously one of the best OST's I've heard. 10/10 it's just perfect.
Re-watch Value: Honestly I'm a sucker for angst and Color Rush has that angst. I've re-watched the whole series about 2 times because of it.
Overall worth it to watch <3

Maybe in another world we’ll see them again
I really loved this show it was perfect in all ways, except for how short it was. I still think they have so much chemistry and I don’t know why they were never casted in another drama again. I remember my main reason for wants to watch this drama was because of HyunJun (Hwall from the Boyz) and because of how short the time was and it was convenient for me also because of the TikTok edits I saw of Color Rush. The sad part was how we don’t see this couple ever again. I will say there may be spoilers so be aware.I really love this drama with my whole heart everything about it was good and the plot was something I’ve never seen of heard of before which was being colorblind, but if you saw your true soulmate or helper you can finally see colors. The plot is Yeon woo is a mono which is people see the world as grey and white and that’s the only shade they see and if they were revealed as Mono’s they could be in serious danger since their considered different and they need to find their destined Probe which are people that make them feel a color rush which means they can finally see colors if they have their Probe with them. Yeon woo is scared to meet his Probe because that’s how he lost his mother since she was last seen with her Probe, but never seen again. Yeon woo had to go to this new school, but the problem is he needs to hide that he’s a Probe because then he would be bullied and in danger, at his school he sees this boy that wears a mask and is always sleeping and is stand-offish to others. One day he gets pulled by that boy into a closet and Yeon Woo thought it was gonna be the end of his life, but the boy reveals his name which is Yoo Han and pulls down his mask and Yeon Woo got a color rush which meant he found his Probe. Yeon woo was shocked by seeing all the colors and Yoo Han put back on his mask and Yeon woo begged him to take it off again, but Yoo Han said he will teach him all the colors that their are in the world. Over time from going to Yeon Woos house, hanging out, and even going to a colorful museum that’s interactive also with all the projectors shining on them. They also fell in love with each other and even went on dates with each other and it showed that they complete each other and need each other. One day Yoo Han disappeared and Yeon Woo got depressed and wanted to find him, and he found Yoo Han in a hospital and escaped with him and they went to the beach together and Yeon Woo said he loves him so much and even said all the grey shades that he saw. Although I’m quite sad that the next season is with a new couple because Yoo Han and Yeon Woo seemed like the perfect couple. I loved how this displayed a world that’s different from the normal world that your either born a Mono or a Probe and that’s who will give you the sight to see colors. They were so adorable when it was the exhibit scene it seemed like you were not watching a drama. I really do recommend this drama so much because it’s so amazing and I literally miss them so much that I feel like crying while writing this review.

Short, sweet & a bit different
I loved this story. Sure, it’s incredibly far-fetched; but still, it was worth watching. One guy is a “mono,” which means he can only see in shades of grey. The other is the ONE person (his “probe”) that can reveal the world of color to this “mono” guy. The first guy is afraid because “monos” seem to become obsessively destructive to their “probes.”
The way they handled the BL aspect was well written. The two main characters’ sexual orientation was not even a subject that was discussed. The only hesitation for the “mono” character seemed to be the fear of becoming obsessed with, and hurting, his “probe.”
It was so cute with the puppy-love type touches and longing looks.
Watch it if you are in the mood for a sweet HS romance.
