Engaging story and plot
This drama is honestly one of the best of 2024 in my opinion. The plot keeps you involved, it's one of the dramas I've ever watched where I didn't skip a single scene.The main couple have an incredible chemistry that gets better and better, you can see the change in their relationship in every episode.
The cast has been chosen perfectly, their chemistry is great, we have a mixture of intense, moving and humorous scenes. The costumes and CGI make it even better.
I highly recommend this.

Yu shuxin as ling miaomiao is my fav I love this novel nd when xixin nd xiaoding as miaomiao nd mu Sheng looks so perfect.After a very long I love sone drama nd this is my best cdrama I'm 2024
I watched every Esther drama so far I love lbfd nd I watched so many times nd now this love game in eastern fantasy my fav I watched episodes in. Repeat
Love how miaomiao nd her father bond she missed her father who dead in real world but she got to meet him in virtual world nd their bond are sweetest

After watching to many dark story series this is so much refresh nd love to watch

it’s fun to watch
This drama is cute and funny.I laugh out loud in first episode because I did not expect that comedy scene of closing credits.
I was not a fan of Esther Yu, because in her previous dramas especially her famous one with dylan wang, her acting of cuteness and voice is so cringe to watch. But in here, I think she tone down her way of acting cute and that’s why it became natural and isn’t cringe at all. I love her in this drama.
For yu xi, he is always one of the best.
The plot is really fun to watch and no boring at all. Chemistry between the leads is awesome.

The story and plot is just outstanding
on Episode 10 and I’m in tears and still laughing as well… EstherYu and Ding got me craving for more❤️??. I don’t usually write reviews but I had to here. can we just take a moment to appreciate the cinematography, OST and costume’s chefs kiss xx I really which it had up to 50 episodes lol but let’s see how the story unfolds hopefully no sad ending. oh and the chemistry between Esther and Ding will make you suspect that they may be dating in real life lol. just saying hahahahahhahahaahhaahhahahaha kissesWas this review helpful to you?
the best drama this years?
the long awaited drama is finally here ... i saw this couple in the modern drama MOONLIGHT. and I really liked them, I wanted to see them again and now I see them in a beautiful historical drama. which is very interesting fun, they have such a great chemistry they could be a couple in real life.... the story is very interesting, there are many great scenes, I like to see them together, I also like the other couple .. I love dramas for example, in the era with from the modern world to the ancient historical one, if you like this genre, definitely check it out. This is exactly the kind of drama I needed in this winter weather, with a cup of tea and candles, relaxation and lots of fun, let's go! ester is an actress who never disappoints, all her dramas are interesting, I don't know how she does it... but I'm not a big fan of her.. Feels like we've seen something like this before???
Coming directly to the point, the gist of the PLOT we've already seen or heard of before. Even though the plot is somewhat similar, the portrayal is new and very interesting. Especially the magical spells and the fight between Demon Catchers and Demons are very interesting. I cannot wait for Ling Miaomiao to cast a spell and fight with the demons. The actors are doing a good job....especially Ding Yu Xi and Esther Yu are doing an amazing job. It is because of the Ding Yu Xi and Esther Yu that I am watching this drama & they are not disappointing me. It would have been so nice if they would have used the actor's original voice........but yeah slowly I am getting used to this.The same as always I sometimes feel like when Esther Yu is ACTING cute....it just doesn't suit the situation.....but her acting cute and making us realize that nobody can do this better than her is one of the reasons that I like her. And yeah, the way she acts and handles a serious & an emotional situation is commendable. She amazes me sometimes. Especially the ending of Ep 7 is mind-blowing. Both the DYX and Esther Yu stole my heart via the the ending of ep7.
Now I really want to know how the ending is going to be. I really am expecting that the game ends quickly and half the drama should be the leads meeting in the modern world. Since I haven't read the novel, the ending will decide for me if the drama is going to be a 10 or not.....
If you are wondering to watch it or not......My suggestion is definitely give it a try.....It is definitely entertaining and the plot seems to progress in a very interesting way. I am waiting for this drama to surprise me. I feel like I should have waited for few more episodes to release as I am dying to know what is going to happen in the further episodes.
RATINGS:
Story - 9.5 (the 0.5 deduction is because the story is not so unique)
Acting - 9.5 (the whole 9.5 goes to Ding Yu Xi and Esther Yu, the 0.5 deduction is because I feel like the supporting cast can do better).
Music -9.0 (ost kind of suits the situations in the drama but it hasn't gotten into my head so much so.....)
Re watch value - 9.0(not a 10/10 rewatch kind of drama so.......)
PS - Not too bad for a start!!! Story is progressing in a very interesting manner.

I was not expecting this drama to become one of my favs of this year. From the very first episode I was laughing so hard. I was not expecting it to be this funny but the moment I saw credit roll on the screen in the middle of the episode, I knew it this was my type of drama. Their is no dearth of humour in this one. Quite a contrast and definitely a much needed relief from all the open/sad ending dramas and the serious ones that have been in vogue recently.Acting wise I am very impressed with Esther here. I think this type of role really suits her well. Though I loved her serious role as well (my journey to you) but she fits perfectly in these types of roles. Her chemistry with Ryan Ding is outstanding. After Moonlight this is their second collab and as expected they are amazing in their roles. Their interaction will make you laugh throughout the episodes. Production value from costume to CGI is top notch. I can re-watch this type of drama numerous times and would recommend it to all the reincarnation/transmigration genre fans to watch this one. Storywise if you were a fan of 'Romance of Tiger and Rose' then you would definitely like it. Even if you think the plot has been used so many times in webtoons or anime or in dramas I would still recommend you to watch this one for its amazing cast. Even if you are not the fan of the cast you should definitely watch it for its amazing comedy. You will not be disappointed.

Funny and Addictive.
I am honestly not a fan of Esther, but for this drama she is the perfect fit. She makes the drama fun and so does the rest of the cast, they are all doing a great job. Although the premise of the story is cliche but the exexution of the plot is done wonderfully, it is funny and interesting. I am on episode 18, there hasn't been a dull moment in the drama yet. It has amazing action sequence and VFX is just brilliantly done.I would recommend that you give this drama a fair chance, It won't disappoint you.

Must Watch
This is my first time writing a review in MDL. So far I have watched 19 episodes, Now I am waiting for the episode 20 can'twait to see it! I am really hook up with the good storyline, the costumes are great, the musics are wonderful, the CGI is spectacular, the actors execute their respective roles well. Hands down to the the team! I am hoping for more story development and plot twist that will keep me on edge. I think this is a complete genre: historical, fantasy, comedy, action, romance, melodrama and little bit of politics. ???Was this review helpful to you?
Ding yuxi aka the best actor for me
I dont know about all but ding yuxi should be nominated one of the best chinese actors. You can see the feeling in his eyes. So good actor, even when he's mad or happy he can pull it off perfectly.I believe he is so underrated and should be known more by people. I've watched all this dramas and he is literally my fav actor, even from k-actors as well, he is still my fav.
His dramas were always been perfect to everything, character, storyline e. T. C
I hope y'all start appreciating his acting more and his hard work would be paid off. That's all.

Cuicui is super cuteee
I love the side characters and side stories!! Special mention to my favourite bamboo shoot Cuicui! He is the shipper of our leads. I also love the marquis cause he is so gentleman and so good to Miao Miao. A walking greenflag although very childish. Honestly, I want to ship him with the princess. They look good and compatible together.Side story about water demon and that demon catcher arc is so sad. Water demon couple just want to love in peace. All because of that stupid empress. Literally sacrificing eveyone and everything.
Another side story that is heartwarming is Miao Miao's convo with her dad. All about that scene is pulling strings along my heart as I also lost my dad. I keep crying in those times.

Why did this show have to have Esther Yu????
After watching melody of Golden Age, I was looking forward to another drama by Ding Yu Xi. I loved him in all the dramas I have watched with him so far, except moonlight, which I couldn’t finish because of Esther Yu, but I still wanted to give this one a try, despite Esther Yu, just because of Ding Yu Xi. I just managed to watch a trailer and that was enough to put me off the show completely. I am sorry Ding Yu Xi, but you need to choose carefully who you are being cast with, if you want your work to be appreciated. As for Esther Yu, what do I say, I feel she jinxes every male lead that she works with, by overshadowing their hard work with her kiddish, silly acting and her toddler-like voice, which is frankly like pouring burning hot oil in one’s ears. I mean the woman is almost 30, acting in a drama where she has been cast as an adult, can she not act her age for once? Do people seriously like her so much that they can overlook her pathetic acting and baby voice and keep showering her with false praises? Nothing against those who think this drama is worth ten stars, I seriously wanted to give it a sincere try, even if it was just for Ding Yu Xi, but the trailer was sufficient to put me off it forever! My sincere apologies to Zhu Shu Dan and Yang Shi Ze as well, I love you guys, and I wanted to watch you so much, if it was not Esther Yu I had to watch you guys with.
