Typical hospital drama with a supernatural twist
I was excited to watch this drama because the idea of a doctor being possessed by another doctor that is in coma is pretty interesting however I got disappointed at some several points like how late SeungTak became a good doctor himself. He relied too much on the ghost doctor which is a bit off for me. Very little to no touching scenes which I usually look for in hospital dramas where life and death exists. It's a pretty decent story, not just my cup of tea.The actors were pretty good themselves although I feel like Rain overpowers Kim Bum most of the time so I don't feel much bromance between them. Dong Il of course as a veteran actor pulled it off perfectly. One of my favorite Ahjussis in KDrama world.
Overall, I enjoyed the journey of watching this series. It felt a little short in getting me emotionally involved but still it made me laugh a couple of times. Still a recommended watch.

If you have not watched, Watch Now!
This medical drama with a touch of fantasy is a must-watch for fans of the genre. The story builds up gradually with well-thought-out character connections that are seamlessly revealed as the plot progresses. While there were no unexpected twists, the three ghosts and their stories are particularly touching and stand out among the cast.Kim Bum's acting skills are versatile, and Rain's charisma shines through despite not being in many acting roles anymore. The climax is a rollercoaster of emotions, with tearjerking and heartwarming scenes that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the series. The way the young Dr. Koh looked at Dr. Oh is sure to tug at your heartstrings.
As for what viewers can expect, the story provides a reality check that doctors can't save everyone, and it's this that builds the characters. The shift in the characters, such as Dr. Cha and Dr. Koh, is triggered by events that will keep you guessing until the very end. The story is a beautiful reminder of qualities like redemption, perseverance, dedication, and calling.
If you're looking for a medical drama with a little something extra, then this is a must-watch. With its well-developed story and characters, it's sure to be a favorite among many viewers. So, if you haven't watched it yet, it's time to add it to your watchlist now!

good but tedious
The premise was promising, with lovely characters and a good acting, but there were so many unnecessary scenes with long and prescindible dialogues or too long remembering scenes that made the whole drama plot a bit tedious. With that the whole pace of the drama was ruined. Also, it was “funny” that every single doctor was unable to perform a surgery in a big hospital, but the main characters, with that it turns kind of illogical ( even though it’s a fantasy drama).
Still I recommend you to give it a try

Slice of Life, Doctors, Bromace kind of drama.
I say "Slice if Life" because of the pacing of the drama. First off, I didn't know who Rain was until I watched The Hungry and The Hairy, it is a reality show and I fell in love with his approachable personality. He's also very good as the best guy friend so this role was made for him.
I can see why everyone likes Kim Bum, he has an adorable face and his acting is top notch. I actually thought he out-shined Rain on his performance in this drama.
The summary and pictures are right, this is a bromance drama with little romance. I knew that coming in. I'm a rom-com addict, so I had to shift gears watching this drama. I will admit, it started out strong for me.
The costumes were on point. I SUPER loved Sung Dong wardrobe. For a guy who is in his mid fifties, he was the best dressed. I really enjoyed all the pant suits and oversized sweaters.
The casting was good and it was nice to seen new faces I am not use to. I felt like for me, I didn't like the pacing of the show too much. I liked the beginning and ending, but towards the middle it dragged a little.
I wanted to see more side stories and I felt like a lot of the scenes were contrived to fit the narrative the script writer was trying to convey. Sometimes it's dangerous to do this one thing, unless they wanted to do that thing for comical purposes, then it's okay.
Or you have a super intense scene and then the tension is cut with a comical scene, but it just seemed a little awkward and cringy in my opinion.
A lot of people loved this drama and it does have heart and warm feelings. I guess I just wanted better pacing and more organized and less contrived situations.

So Sad It's Over!
I went into this drama not really thinking I'd like it as I don't typically lean towards dramas with fantasy elements. However, I couldn't not give it a try with such a star-studded cast. As expected, I really loved watching the performances by both Rain and Kim Bum in their respective characters as well as the chemistry that they showed in their transforming bromance. I also really appreciated the character transformation of Cha Young-Min throughout the drama, which added a touching aspect to the drama. This drama made me laugh and it made me cry all at the same time. I did find that they probably could have cut out a few of the surgeries that came through, but I guess it's still a medical drama at the heart of it. It would have been nice to see some more character development of some of the secondary characters in lieu of more surgeries, but I suppose that's not the path that they wanted to take. Overall, I'm really sad now that it's all come to an end, but I'm glad that I gave it a try!Was this review helpful to you?
Best Duo!!!
I mean, what can go wrong when you put Rain and Kim bum together, Lol.. Boy, both their acting are spectacular!!!I love the story too, it's a refreshing plot. It's funny yet meaningful and deep at the same time. It's new twist to medical drama which sometimes can get too heavy and all. It's also very exciting, especially each time they go to surgery room, it gets my heart beating fast!
I also love the dynamics and combination between the two doctors, how they eventually learn and grow from one another.
It's a definite must-watch!!

I have a hard time trying to find Korean action dramas without the romance so I end up resorting to other types of Korean dramas and wasn't going to watch this because of the second male lead. I'm sorry but I know I'm the only one who got irritated at his constant smiling! What was so doggone funny is what I wanted to know.I guess it's because the last drama I seen him in (Ms. Cop 2) I didn't enjoy his character. He played the bad guy who-you guessed it-smiled too much!!! I guess when you play a villain, smiling a lot helps make you creepier?? Anyway I tolerated him till the end which I have to give myself a high five for.
I was wondering how the creator was going to stretch the main ML's reason behind being a ghost and seeing that they went for a Sixth Sense plot it made me scream 'what?' a bit. I guess there was no other way to have a different scenario though.
I loved the whole cast. They out shined their roles to the fullest. Even though I wanted to see more of the three ghosts stories I guess they had to work with what they worked with.
Even though I fairly enjoyed this drama I do have a few takeaways that almost made me skip this: the romance....man they showed the FL crying too doggone much. I appreciated the backstory of her and the main ML's life but replaying those flashbacks was annoying. She was tough to some degree but for me the romance spoils it every time.
The second was how fast the main ML recovered. I've never seen any one come out of a three month coma thrive within a week or two! It was as if he wasn't in a coma at all.
While I'm at it, how come none of the other ghosts remembered who the second ML was but the doctor remembered??
The last episode was a bit rushed. I wanted to see how the other people that portrayed ghost turned out but I guess they had to focus on the main ML.
It was a good drama but I won't be watching this again.

Unexpectedly heartwarming
Most people loved this drama for its bromance, but there's so much more to it than that. Ghost Doctor has a special way of letting the viewers emphasize the characters and their stories. Character development is highlighted towards the end of the drama and they did a good job with that. There were a ton of funny moments, quite a few heartwarming moments, and a bit of heart-wrenching ones as well. Overall, this is a refreshing drama to watch in a world where dark-genre dramas are taking over.(I need Rain to be cast in more comedy-dramas)

Long time since I've seen Rain in any dramas so I forgot how charming and funny he could be. I certainly didn't expect to really love this drama which was basically a medical Rattatoulle drama with coma ghost instead of a rat.Rain is really so lovable as the genius cardiothorasic surgeon Cha Youngmin. He really embodied the character description of being like a viper on the outside but actually a softie inside. Kim Beom was unexpectedly adorable as the cute chaebol resident doctor Go Seungtak. I totally didn't expect to be endeared to the childish Seungtak who seemed out of place at a hospital when he didn't actually have any skill besides being studious.
Rain and Kim Beom really did well in potraying the mentor-rookie relationship between Youngmin and Seungtak, even when this relationship didn't actually start on the right foot. Between a kind-hearted doctor who had worked hard to achieve great skill that could even be called genius yet ended up becoming jaded due to some twists in life and a resident whose merits was only on his vast knowledge he learnt but never did any surgery work due to the trauma from his childhood as well as his ability to see spirit causing him to be scared of doing surgeties, it was interesting to see how their life started to change when the two of them meet and forced to work together. It was interesting to see how Youngmin start to recover his old self and to see Seungtak becoming more determined to overcome his fears and become a real doctor.
That said, Uee and Son Na Eun were great as the romantic interest of both the male leads respectively. As much as most of Youngmin-Sejin scenes are quite melodramatic, there are still some cute parts in between and Sejin does still have parts where she had to remain strong. The same can be said about Soojung, and I love all the comical and heartwarning interactions between her and Seungtak.
While there weren't much romance in the drama, I love the fact that the actors were still able to subtly bring out those elements and show that these characters really do love each other. Like as much as we barely see Youngmin and Sejin interact normally aside from the flashbacks, we can see how both of them struggle with their sorrows as Sejin tried to find ways to revive Youngmin and how Youngmin couldn't do anything but watch her suffer because of him. There's really a lot of melodrama in Youngmin-Sejin pairing that it make sense why Youngmin would've wanted to reset that and made it a romcom. Soojung and Seungtak pairing was also cute seeing how the pair tend to support each other in their own way, which made it even more interesting when we get more revelations on their relationship beyond just being childhood friends.
Tae Inho's character reminded me about another similar character he played in Descendants of the Sun, but hey, every medical drama do need its villain and he seemed a perfect fit. Gotta say it was interesting to see Sungwon's relationship with Seungtak and compare it with Youngmin.
Sung Dongil was amazing as the resident ghost that still haunts the hospital and still occasionally helped out with things at the hospital. It was really heartwarming to see Tess calmly watching over the living and those stuck in limbo for 20 years at the hospital, even more once you find out about his real identity. Honestly, with every episode we receive tit bits about Tess's true identity and I just can't stop feeling amazed at how the little pieces of the puzzle just fits together.
As much as the drama was medical and supernatural in nature, one can't deny that it was also a family drama. This drama was really heartwarming as it reminds us to be kind to people as well as more thoughfull to others. I wasn't expecting to be drawn towards the stories about the patients and doctors beside the whole premise about a ghost doctor who continued to save people by possessing a living person. It was really fun watching this drama from the start till the end.

Better than I had expected
Ghost Doctor was definitely better than I had expected. Although I do think there was quite a bit of unnecessary filler, the main story was thoroughly interesting and always caught my attention. I liked the balance of different characters, and the acting from everyone was almost pure perfection. I thought there were some unusual editing techniques, but to balance this out, there were some amazing directing cues and cinematography. If the filler was cancelled out, the story would have received a higher rating.I also really enjoyed the OST which is quite addictive. The only problem I had with it was that it was slightly overplayed. I also liked the general aesthetic this whole drama gave. I actually at one point almost put this drama on 'not interested' - roughly the time it came out to be aired. I'm glad I eventually decided to try this as it was worth the watch.
I recommend watching Ghost Doctor. Despite unnecessary filler, it's still worth the watch for the main story.

I really like the Cha Young Min and Ko Seung Tak duo. They give justice is their character. I watched this drama for Na-eun (Oh Soo Jeong) but I fell in love to Kibum's character more. I find their relationship also cute! The first drama of Na-eun that I really liked and didn't find boring. The other characters carried this drama too, all of the cast are awesome.
The fantasy, and medical problems are enough to keep the thrill and you anticipating on what will happen on the next episodes. The flow of the story is not fast, but also not slow. Though I think the last episode is sort of rush? I personally want more scene of Cha Young Min scaring Han Seung Won alive rather than a coma ghost. But overall it's an amazing drama and worth to watch.
I'll give this a 10/10! It's recommendable, you should watch it~
