It Was Different

I placed any potential spoilers at the end of this review.

This series had a refreshing storyline. Although it is set in a university, at least it does not involve engineering or medical science students. However, the execution of the storylines is not the greatest at some points. It does have great cinematograph. The acting was also good considering many of the actors are new in the field.

******Potential Spoiler Alert******

My only criticism is the 6-month time jump was not done well and did not help the series.

I would like to see a second season or spin-off series with the two side couples. Especially for the characters Dome and Vee, maybe incorporate the word “waiting” in the series name. Just a thought.

Friends to lovers and there support teams.

Just finished and i enjoyed it. The cast did a great job and also enjoyed the music, sadly its not in my top 5 for 2022, but definitely worth the time to watch Enjoy. This does have roundabout spoilers. This drama touched on so many different emotions between the couples, friends and family. There are basically 3 couples involved: The 1st)Tupfah and Torn have known each other since childhood. Tupfah taught torn how to play basketball and there promised was getting a gold medal together. Then fah left for to HS/college and torn worked hard for there promise. So when Torn meets Tupfah again in college at first he surprised and a little disappointed. Once torn try outs Fah is surprised and as the two become closer there feelings start to change in happy ways. Then Torn gets hurt while playing BB and has surgery for a torn ligament and that starts to effect them 7mo later. Fah is advancing in BB and telling Torn to wait a few more mths for a full recovery as hes distancing himself from Torn and there relationship. What happens when Torn decides not to wait and seeks out the rival coach for rehab. and to play against Fah. What will happen to their relationship once there pinned against each other. Can they work on understanding each other and get back to loving each other?
2nd) Saen and Aii probably my favorite. Saen falls for Aii and does his best to chase after Aii. He slowly make Aii heart open up for him as they get to know each other.. There big problem is Aii is going to Japan to study what will happen?
3rd) is complicated as Dome was dating Pan until he meets her brother Vee. Vee was a runner/sprinter until a member of Domes relay team got hurt and vee sister recommended him. As the two practice more & more they start to fell more than just friends. They fight to hide their feelings and Dome breaks up with Pan in quilt, but doesn't tell her why until a school trip and she catches them kissing. Now we have 3 sad people what will happen to family/ex/friend?
They are other friends and family involved around all these couples to give love and support. Now its time to graduate how will all these couples works out.

Underrated

I loved loved this series a lot and I Don't understand why's this so underrated. This series deserves so much better. The team Should have promoted it well.
Now the story was great. I thought it would be another one of those highschool bls. But it had a bit more to it. The characters and and their stories were important more than skinship. The show showed how passionate all of Them were about their games and relationships. Unlike other bls we got a whole lotta playing and games lol which was okay too. All the couples were perfect and my personal favourite was San and Ai lol they were so adorable and looked so cute together. Other couples did great too. And my favourite character was Wee I mean he's like so pretty so why not. The lead couple was great too. The only character that felt kinda out of place for me was Dome. He just didn’t fit in according to me.
All in all great series and very underrated. No cringe (except for the paddling part lol), no secondhand embarrassment, perfect acting and music. It was all good.
And after watching the series I searched for other series by these actors cause I really wanted to see more of them but guess what all of them were rookies and didn’t do any other massive works before lol. So as a first work these babies did really really amazing. I'm so proud of them. And can't wait to see them in more and more bls lol. They could be of great use to Thai entertainment industry.

its all up to actors chemistry

First... Chemistry Check:
*Tupfah and Torn- The chemistry is not working, for me, I don't see any spark between them so their story affects that. I literally did not stay tuned to their story, that shows how important to choose someone who has good chemistry because even if the plotline is good it will be affected by it. P.S I love tae chayapat
*Dome and Vee- I love them, their chemistry is strong if their acting is improved a little everything will be perfect.
*Aii and Saen- they are my favorite couple along with dime and vee, they gave us strong chemistry.
it's just a shame that the couples don't have equal air time or scenes. So okay, if you're asking whether this series is worth it to watch, well yes it's. So it's all about 3 couples who have different stories to tell, they showed struggles in dreams and love. It might not have that strong impact, but it is still worth it to watch. And if you also don't see the spark between the main lead then you would be bored, because just like me sometimes I skip their parts and just watch domevee and aiisaen story. I just wished that they gave domevee more exposure and have their story improved.

My personal opinion!!!

I decided to start this one as i am looking for dramas to binge watch, it started out promising but a little slow. It did progress and get better but honestly not my favorite. I was invested in the side characters way more than the MC. Slightly feel like my time was wasted. I did enjoy the thrill, and the idea, but idk what just wasn’t cutting it for me. Not to mention there’s like 3 kiss scenes in total which was QUITE the disappointment. i did end up skipping through the last episode as i was very bored and wanted to move on to the next drama. but yeah there is my review, THIS IS MY OPINION (always watch shows yourself to find out what YOU enjoy !!!)

Visually pleasing but lacks substance

Majorly boring series that shows people will act like anything with an ITSAYesque aesthetic and a moody atmosphere is good. For a series about sports, this lacks energy. I did like some moments though, especially from DomeVee in the beginning, when they showed potential for an interesting storyline before the show decided they would never dive deeper into their plot and give them more than one or two very short scenes per episode. AiiSaen were also cute and had great chemistry, but the storyline was also lacking. The main couple I felt had very weak chemistry (if any) and didn't get my attention. Their scenes were hard to watch with the slow dialogues and monotonous vibes. That was the vibe of the entire show, but at least with the other two couples you had some contrast and charm (AiiSaen) and tension (DomeVee) to break the ice.

Acting-wise this was ok at best. No standouts. Maybe Porsche in Vee's most intense scenes. See, the actors don't even have the opportunity to attempt showing range.

One thing I liked though was the OSTs. At least two of them that I can remember. I just don't understand why not put those songs on Spotify.

So overall, this was a very visually pleasing series, but lacked energy and substance. Not everyone can make an ITSAY girlies. Remember that.

I usually don't review shows before I'm done but....

I'm enjoying this show so much I really had to jump in and recommend it. I won't give any spoilers here, but I can say that this show has it all - a stellar cast, the music is amazing, and the cinematography is top notch. The story is somewhat basic, but that doesn't usually bother me if the actors are committed and it has a good script. There is lots of sexual tension,. My favorite scenes are where a lot is said with very little words. A look, or a touch - the actors do such a great job. And at the same time it's a relaxing show. If you're on the fence, go ahead and give it a shot!!

Full of wholesomeness

At first, I watched this series with not much expectation. but each week passed, this series never stops impressing me. the character development, acting (consider most of them are newbies), camera works and movie colors are all amazing. there are also some subtle details the production team put in some eps. moreover, it is not so common to see a BL series has almost equal screen time for each couple like you're my sky. it's the best BL Thai Series so far in 2022 to me. So please give it a try.

Good, but some wasted potential

This is a different kind of BL, with complex characters that aren't caricatures or archetypes like most BL characters. Even the "villain" isn't a villain.

The acting is superb, although a bit uneven, with Kris & Porsche playing Dome and Vee with a searing intensity in a forbidden love storyline, Boom & Jump a bit one-note but cute as Saen and Aii, and Tae & Suar in the middle as Fah and Thorn.

The cinematography and art design are the best I've seen in a BL, including I Told Sunset about You - it was stunning enough to carry me through the weaker parts of the story.

Which brings me to to the biggest problem with the series, which is the writing and pacing. The story is too ambitious for 12 episodes and too much was attempted. Unfortunately, the expedient chosen to get through it was time jumps. The jumps totally deflated the most exciting couple, Dome and Vee, and their story just died and I lost interest in it. They skipped over all the key scenes, like Dome & Vee's respective denouments with Pan, parting for Saen & Aii, etc.

The final drama between the main couple was insufficiently set up, and while the emotion and charactization was complex, realistic, and well-executed, Thorn made too many decisions that didn't make very much sense for his character - there were things he did that are understandable in the moment, but not in the long term, like the communications breakdown with Fah.

And the finale was a huge disappointment - an entire episode where nothing happened wasted on what could have been much-needed development for the secondary couples. In the end, the total lack of passion between the characters undermined any sense I had that anyone was in love - they all interacted like friends, with pecks on the cheek going where a love scene belonged. Considering how dark and mature the themes of the series were, the junior-high level of the romance (and that's being generous) made the whole series fall flat for me. Dome & Vee's final scene is a LOL product placement - it was mouth-hanging-open shocking to see such an electric couple ending in such a pathetic way.

I'm not saying there needed to be sweat-soaked love sex scenes - Vee & Dome had scenes were they weren't even touching that could burn a house down (before they became wet cardboard). But at no point did any of the other two couples, or Vee & Dome after the first time jump, feel like romantic pairs. Fah & Thorn feel like their roles were written for brothers, not lovers, and Saen & Aii's romance was primary school from beginning to end, with Aii never ceasing to act like he was afraid of getting cooties from Saen. If you replaced them with 8-year olds, the story would work just the same.

I still gave it a high rating, but there's no excuse for this not being a 10 with all the superlative ingredients it had.

Story: 7 - High points for complex characterizations, but poor marks for continuity and failure to bring stories to convinving conclusions and jumping over resolutions with lazy and enervating time-jumps.

Acting: 9 - Of all the actors, the only ones that I long to see again are Kris & Porsche, preferably together. The others were decent, and would probably outshine most run-of-the-mill BL actors, but suffered in comparison to that superb pair.

Music: 7 - nothing special but did it's job.

Rewatch: 5 - I would rewatch Vee & Dome, but that's about it.

Overall: 8.5 This is higher than the suggested score, but there's no rating for "production values", and this was an 11/10. I would have rated it a 9.5 or 10 up until the first time jump, which led to a huge dropoff for the series - this was a very unfortunate decision.

Unexpected ending

I did not realize that the series ended on Ep. 12, this series has so much to tell. I was expecting more to this series, like i got hooked up with the flow of the story and the character development . I do not know why the production ended it that way, the flow of the story was really nice. There are some characters that needs more screentime to highlight their story and characters Suddenly, it ended, i am kinda sad. I hope there will be season 2. It has really good story and good actors. Waiting for more. Susu!

Really good, deep series with meaning, showed Torn in wrong light

Okay, so I don't really write reviews but I think this one needs it. First of all I enjoyed this series very much, it's very high quality and is overall beautiful. The side stories were fine, not as interesting to me, but it's okay since it kept the feeling of tension what's going to happen in the main plot, so I'm not going to talk about them much.

What suprised me was that they actually took care of the problem, that Torn was terribly mistreated. Well, maybe it didn't end in the way it should but I think the right way would make people hate Torn and be really mad that they didn't end up together. But I'm suprised they didn't just ignore the fact that Torn always made what others wanted him to do. We see it since the begining, where Fah actually FORGOT about his best friend just because he wasn't his partner anymore. There were many moments like that and Torn was never mad (most like for 5 minutes), he was calm, supporting, Meanwhile Fah didn't really see his mistakes, kind of anegoist.

So when the moment came, where Torn finally decided to do what he wanted I was so happy for him! Fah was just a toxic. I'm not suprised that Torn was so angry... MAN I would be angry already since the begining, because Fah was just so horrible. AND everyone was treating him like he was in his wrongs. DUDE, this series made him look like he was doing something bad when in reality he made a smart decision. I'm kinda angry about how they didn't explain to others why actally Torn had many reasons to hate them and just made Torn apologize (even tho no one ever apologized to him lol and he was the one that needed it the most). They kept silent about the case (I mean Torn didn't say anything about it), that Torn was mistreated ny Fah, but it's something we can read from his actions and see for ourselfs. It wasn't really something said out loud. I think it added some fine self reflection to the series.

I think they kinda made Torn the villain at the end and didn't point it out that he was just too good for Fah AND WASN'T WRONG FOR GETTING MAD LIKE CRAZY. But I know that if it wasn't done Torn's anger would never end and the show would just end with not really a perfect ending, that everyone always want. So I understand. We see that coach Tuan wasn't really that bad of a person either. I mean, he had his controversial ways, but he helped Torn get better. I suppose if Torn said to Fah all the things he did to him, Fah would't understand and it would broke their relationship. Since Torn loved Fah very deeply he never said anything and I must say it almost made me cry.

In conclusion, this series made me feel A LOT. And I'm not mad about it. It's great because of it's depth and quiet problems we face that destroy us inside slowly. Some people are mad about the time-skip but I think it was needed. Torn needed it to finally stand up for himself.

Shortly about the side stories. I liked that Vee was RESONABLE person and didn't give in to his desires. Respect, man.
The story about Aii and Saen was just boring. I mean it was sweet but kinda shallow? It definitely lacked something... well I didn't mind it since I was too emotional about the main plot.

I recommend this series, however for emotional people it will be hard experience (like for me) but its definitely worth it.

I enjoyed this more than I thought

Not Much into Sport Dramas but I quite enjoyed this one. For the most part it was an easy and peaceful watch. I loved all of the characters and the couples. It definitely surprised me, the first episode doesn't emphasize what this show is about. At first it seems like a regular sports/college drama but it's so much more than that. The characters get good development and so do the couples, the friendships are one of YMS stronger points and I like how they handled Thor's coming out. Though, I feel like Vee and Dome's storyline was left open ended but understandable with the subject matter their story faced. I'm satisfied with the conclusion of the other two couples esp Saen and Ae since they were my favorites from the beginning.
All in all I give this series an 8.0. I say give this series a chance because it's so much more than what it seems.
