For a story about BD, oddly cute
I have to admit I never understood BD, but I was curious and knew a K-Movie wouldn't be explicit, otherwise I wouldn't consider watching this movie at all. All that roleplaying was done quite funny and playfully, not toxic and gross as it usually appears to me in all those crime shows, so I didn't wince much although I did still skip some for me too rough stuff. I enjoyed the development of the romantic side of their relationship. Was that believable to viewers with those tendencies, I have no clue, but it was cute to me.Was this review helpful to you?
Pleasantly surprised.
This film really surprised me.I absolutely loved its thoughtful and kind handling of subjects such as taboo, prejudice, toxic work culture, trust, intimacy, personal boundaries and safety in relationships.
I felt it was character driven, but managing a light and human touch handling quite serious and often painful subjects.
Loved the acting, I bought every minute and the chemistry between leads was palpable and sweet.
A little naughty, a little nice and a whole lot of kind and tolerant all in one package with a bow :) Recommend.

Funny, sweet and even a little cute - it is a very good movie. I'm also very impressed by the two main characters. I'm typically weary of kpop idols in dramas, and this one made me extra nervous as it had two of them in the main roles. But they are very good. I'm a fan of Seo Hyun musically, but I've never watched her in anything. I was so happily surprised.
This movie was very endearing with a good message at its heart. I'm such a sucker for a good romantic comedy and this satisfied. Highly recommended.

Foreplay, mostly.
Plot: A competent office lady accidentally discovered a BDSM item of her new officemate. It revolves around the introduction of BDSM and the new guy's life.Acting: Passable acting from all the cast.
Music: Nothing exactly memorable but appropriate for the movie/scenes.
Re-watch Value: Will not re-watch this one but it's a nice movie to watch on a super boring day.
Overall: I felt like the entire movie was a foreplay before the good stuff happened. It was fast paced with a few chuckles injected. Light movie with a brief information on how BDSM works for newbies or interested with erotica. 6.5 - 7 stars

I loved this movie! I have to say I didn't know much about BDSM before I started watching it, just the regular things that are pretty much well known among the public. And this movie was a great introduction to that topic! I would like to praise the actors for doing a really great job and the filming crew for portraying BDSM in a positive light since it's really nothing to be ashamed off as long as all the parties involved consented to it. It was very interesting to see their master and "slave" relationship develop, especially the contract. It also surprised me that at first it didn't have to do much with sexual stuff, it was purely about the dominance and submission.
And wow, we got the reversed roles with the woman being the dominant one and the man the submissive one! That was a really fresh approach and probably one of the main reasons why I liked the movie a lot. And I liked how their relationship developed between the two of them.

very informative. must watch for newbies. might feel explicit in the start but is very good. even the acting is on point. the whole movie is on next level and i really recommend it to others. this movie is not stereotypical and breaks barrier of the k-drama industry. Jung Ji Hoo is a competent and popular high-flying employee at work but one day this image threatens to fall apart when a fellow co-worker, Jung Ji Woo, mistakenly receives a package belonging to him and opens it to find a large dog-collar and its accompanying leash inside. What follows is a light-hearted introduction to a BDSM relationship between the two.

definitely unexpected
Finding the right words to review this movie is a challenge. While doing homework with a friend, we casually chose it as background noise and ended up fully engaged. It defied my expectations; what seemed like a lighthearted romcom turned out to be surprisingly bold and humorous. Although some moments made me cringe, the overall humor and unexpected twists made it an enjoyable watch. It's like a more amusing, laid-back version of Fifty Shades of Grey in the romcom genre. Definitely worth a watch! Was this review helpful to you?
Love the chemistry
I like the movie. I just wish there were more romantic scenes between them. Romantic relationship scenes. But omg. The way he ate those treats in her hands while being tied was hot AF! And so on??.They're so cute ngl!
This is prob my first time seeing a Korean actor getting tied up. If you have a Korean drama similar to this... Please recommend me some? I love romantic movies and dramas! Especially with comedies and jealous moments hehe.
Totally recommend watching it if you are craving a rom-com that includes consensual play??

One of the best intimacy in any Korean movie ever
Strikingly hilarious right from the start till the end, and the great chemistry between Seohyun and Lee Junyoung, it has so much warmth in them and they're totally immerse with each other's acting, all of the scenes are also shot with really delicate touches like the color tone. The flow of the story works practically well which is relevant to the reality, peaked with an epic ending that's very lovely to see. Even without being explicitly sexual, the movie is able to achieve one of the best intimacy in any Korean movie ever. Was this review helpful to you?
Fun
I initially promised myself I wouldn't watch this, but I feel great now that I did.My problem with movies or TV series that involve such controversial topics is that they are almost always bad-written and involve gratuitous sex. What was great about "Love and Leashes" was that the film cares more about the psychological journey of these characters than the rest of its genre. The dynamics are important. The characters discover stuff and discover themselves. Jiwoo may not be the most proactive heroine in the first 15 minutes, but once she decides to experiment with her newly-discovered interest, she's actually pretty cool to watch. And Jihoo, well if that ain't some good internal conflict, I don't know what it is. It was cute how he tries to balance the different sides of himself.
If there is one thing that bothered me, it was the fact that the plot was pretty basic. I could tell things ahead. The ending at the office didn't seem earned, but I can overlook that. My experience watching this wasn't affected.
I do believe there are some errors in the writing of the movie, but I am a slut for fun and enjoyable stuff, be it a movie or a K-drama or a book. Not the mot professional review I guess. Anyway, do I recommend this movie? Only to those that aren't prejudiced against the subject. Would I rewatch this movie? Maybe. I wouldn't rule out the possibility. I can see myself bored one evening and deciding to go for this one again, knowing it's gonna entertain me.

That was hot...and informative
A very compassionate and sexy introduction to BDSM + a cute love story. Time flies when you're having fun they say, and it very much did as I watched Love and Leashes. Hot actors for a hot story and it even had time to add in some valuable lessons in self love and self acceptance. Plenty of steam but there's also moments that are touching, cruel, and sweet. A quite refreshing love story, and we love when a both the man and woman can take the lead (you'll see what I mean at the end). You might want to have headphones for some scenes but otherwise, WATCH IT NOW...or else ;)Was this review helpful to you?

Unconventionally fun!
First off, I have a very limited idea about BDSM and all I know from it was from reading novels so it's not really reliable. I have not read the webtoon too. My review is purely based on my enjoyment of the movie.Well it was fantastic! I felt a rollecoaster of emotions. I felt happy, embarassed, ecstatic, confused and satisfied. I felt happy because they stuck with the romcom and it's not racy like how everyone who judged this show before its release thought. Some scenes I felt the secondhand embarassment. Some scenes I'm confused because I couldn't connect emotionally for obvious reasons.
I've been a fan of Seohyun because I'm SNSD's fan. I know she isn't the strongest actor in the group and I haven't seen her latest works. She improved by miles from the last time I watched her. And she sure does pick very interesting projects. She delivered really well. Her portrayal of Jiwoo is so relatable. I feel like I'm watching this movie in her pov. On the other hand, I'm not familiar with Lee Jun Young but he caught me eye and I'll look forward to his future projects. He acts so well and has great emotions in his eyes. How did I miss him in his previous projects? Their chemistry is so good too like damn I felt all the emotions in that kiss! I was a puddle. Bonus: both of them are so gorgeous!
Overall, I really enjoyed watching this and will definitely recommend for those wanting to watch a romcom but wants a fresh plot. Kudos to all actors and production team for investing in and going for something new.
