Since no one else reviewed this, I will (:

I'm shocked there are zero reviews on this web series so I've decided I'll write one as spoiler free as possible! Just in case people don't want to risk checking the comments on here (in case they see a spoiler). Also, if you're wondering where to watch this, it's available on their official youtube channel! Just search 'Discipline Z Vampire' and you should be able to find it.

Okay let's start...

Story: I REALLY loved the storyline! And for those who keep asking in the comments, yes this has two gay characters in it that have a relationship and it is part of the story, but that's not the focus of the web series. It's more about the whole mutant genes thing and Hyung-Tae, but the BL aspect is a main storyline so don't worry! I'm just letting you know now that this isn't your typical BL that's centered around university and romance. I loved the storyline, the cinematography and camera work was really great for a web series (the only thing that felt low budget was the green screens in some parts but that's expected when this show is obviously low budget). Another thing I loved was styling for the outfits like WOW, the stylist did a great job. I loved the main characters and was so happy to see Ji-Han still be one! He was my favourite in the first Discipline. Some people think the ending was rushed but I disagree, I liked the ending and it made me excited for the Ji-Han and Asin's story! I do believe there could have been part of the plot that was more developed but that's why I'm only giving the story aspect an 8/10. In conclusion, the show was really interesting, enjoyable and easy to watch and I recommend it based on the story alone!

Acting/Cast: Ah, so the reason I give this a 6/10 is mostly because of the acting done by the English speakers. I believe this show would have benefited and been way more polished if they didn't try to have an international concept. Especially with the character Yuri. I couldn't really understand half of what she was saying because her accent was so strong (despite her character not being able to speak/understand Korean and only English) and her laughing was way too fake. The actor who played the professor didn't do as bad, in some parts he was decent (majority of those parts being when he didn't have to express anger or annoyance). Honestly, the acting done by the ones who played Jay, Ji-Han, and Asin were better - during their English lines - than the ones who have to speak English the whole time. In saying all this, I'm not judging this as harshly as I would a big production with a bigger budget, since as I mentioned, this is only a web series with a lower budget so I understand it would be difficult to bring in amazing actors for those specific English-speaking roles. Plus, I have to commend the actors efforts and the production's inclusivity of other languages. The Korean acting was significantly better but still not the best I've seen. Although, I think some of that can be because of the script they were given (sometimes it felt awkward or unnatural). However, the main cast all did a fantastic job really, especially the actors who played Hyung-Tae and Ji-Han. (WAIT I JUST FOUND OUT THE THE ACTOR WHO PLAYED HYUNG-TAE WAS IN 'STEP FOR YOU' WHICH IS A KOREAN SHORT BL THAT I LOVE OMG WHAT).

Music: I gave an 8/10 because I enjoyed the soundtrack overall but it wasn't anything amazing.

Rewatch Value: I only gave this a 5/10 because I'm not really a rewatcher and when I do rewatch shows or movies, they're ones that are my absolute favourites or it's because I want to rewatch before the next part comes out. And to watch the next part of this (Summer Deja-Vu), I don't actually need to rewatch this.

Overall: A 7/10 because it was a unique story - at least for a BL it was haha - and I really enjoyed it! Plus I loved the styling of the outfits and hair, the cinematography was great, music was great, and the main cast are awesome. And I love when South Korea jumps on the LGBTQ+ band wagon in a positive way. I definitely recommend just giving it a go if you're on the fence!

Incredibly Interesting and Quite Different

I am usually not at a loss for words for a series but this one truly stumped me. Beyond words can describe this series. It is one of the most thought-provoking series I have ever seen. In addition, it is an amazing and an astounding story of life in its most esoteric form. If I tried to describe this series, it would be an almost impossible task as it traverses common reference points and twists life into knots. While the title implies this has something to do with vampires, it does not. But it does have some elements of what the outcome of being a vampire. There is some stunning dialogue in here about life that makes it so worth watching. On the other hand, there is some of the worst acting (not by any of the major stars, however) I have ever seen for the English speaking parts. But, honestly, this was a guilty pleasure of mine that overall, I liked. This barely qualifies as a BL series but the relationship is just so charming and full of hope. If you want to review my full review of this what I thought is an interesting series, please go to ppbongi.medium.com. It is free to review and you can leave your comments.

Worth the Watch!

I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline of this drama. The concept and ideas are very original and the process of expressing it in the drama was also unique and not something I'd ever heard of before. Which is something uncommon in my opinion. That alone makes this drama worth taking time to watch it. Especially since it's an easy watch with six total episodes.

With that said, because it was only six episodes, there are definitely aspects of the drama the move along quickly and feel very rushed. However, I don't use that to entirely discredit that drama. If six episodes is all that they had to work with, it's understandable to have some things be rushed. Even so this does not ruin the story telling aspect, in my opinion. Considering this seems to be an independent production, the quality is actually quite nice. There were small moments when you could really tell that it was a low budget production, other than those few moments, it was really well done.

The acting on the other hand.. It wasn't good. There were a few set actors that did really well so I don't mean the entire cast wasn't good. Once you watch it, I think you'll understand what I mean. However, I was so drawn in by the story that I honestly forgot how bad some of the acting was.

One last note, I recommend paying attention to the caption of he final episode! ;)

Watchable but unpolished

Having in mind that it's a low budget show, it's quite enjoyable if you feel like watching something without paying much attention or in the mood for a "no brain" binge watch. The styling was amazing; I appreciate the LGBT+ representation; the acting was questionable at times; the story was okay. Don't let the title trick you: it's not about vampires, but about a mutation that leads to immortality.

Story: The story is unrefined but it works. It's only 6 episodes so obviously the pacing is fast and some aspects are rushed over. Personally, I don't really enjoy supernatural content, especially when vampires are involved (if you really like vampire content, you will probably be disappointed because it's more mentioned than executed), but the lack of cliches made it refreshing and watchable. There's a BL aspect to it involved with the main story but not the focal point, therefore don't expect much of it. I was completely surprised by the styling, really compliments the characters, is very on brand and, honestly, my favorite part of this show. The low budget is very apparent in certain scenes, even so, that is not the case for most of the show.

Acting/Cast: The acting by the korean actors is fine, lacking at times mainly due to the script. Some of these korean actors do speak in english with an heavy accent making it difficult to understand some words/sentences, making me question why not cast actors that can speak english fluently, but then I remember the low budget... it's bearable by how the lines are delivered. The acting from the foreign actors is very lacking in comparison, mostly because of the weird unnatural script. This show would have been way more polished if they didn't try to have an international concept. I found myself laughing at the acting in the later episodes.

Music: Doesn't stand out, which isn't a bad thing. Not a lot of thought was put into the soundtrack, which is normal since it's a web drama, therefore, lower budgets. It gets the job done.

Rewatch value: I'd say none, but I never rewatch anything.

This is still the basic bitch of BL shows lol but this season the writing is better and the plot doesn't go off in pointless tangents but sticks to the theme.

Basically okay this is what you watch when you need something pulpy and mindless. It does have good actors and I honestly don't mind watching porn without plot, or angst without plot, this is the same concept but lacks both angst and the skinship is SO TAME.
I'm a SUCKER for VAMPIRES XD so I was intrigued and some of the writing especially in the second half when it came to Pierre's dialogs it was actually pretty clever and I didnt expect it.

But the kinks this time was human experiments and all the beating scenes good idea but the execution just wasn't great. Even the camera angles they use were so bland .

As for the BL pretty disappointing thistime as well. Jia and Asin had great chemistry but barely a tame kiss and what's the point of even having that straight friend in the story.

So, watchable and has some unique concepts but needs a lot of work

TERRIBLE!!!

Story: What story?

Acting/Cast: We had some good looking people, but that couldn't make up for the terrible acting. I don't know whose idea it was to have the cast frequently speak English but the idea was terrible. Aside from a few characters, most of the English was impossible to understand. That Yuri character was especially bad. I couldn't understand what she was saying and even after replaying a few times, I still couldn't get more than a few words. This aspect of the show was really terrible. Most of the acting was unnatural and exaggerated. That said, there was one person who stood out for me. Pierre/Tae Woo only appeared thrice for a few seconds each time but he was the most impressive. His role as Pierre was well thought out and in his role as Tae Woo, he managed to draw me in with that longing/miserable/helpless look when Ji Han chased after Asin. The actor was quite good.

Music: Not great but passable.

Romance: There was BL but it was unrealistic and rushed. I couldn't get invested in the relationship. As for the BG....*sigh* It would have been better if Hung Tae got together with Pierre/Tae Woo rather than forcibly shipping Jay. It would have made more sense since both Pierre and Hung Tae are immortal.

Rewatch Value: I honestly can't see any rewatch value. It is impossible for me to ever rewatch this short drama.

Cringe hyped half-arse-Vampire LGBTQ+ Love

I for one think...the drama is kinda cringey, in many aspects, but obviously people been invested into a project, felt the long hours of re/shooting, so in the end it's someone's hard work, so it deserves respect-- at least for that, so i'd advise anyone to refrain from adding any review before watching it-- all.
Apart from that... i feel like people tend to mix things--- in the hopes to shine a light on more than just one thing--- which in the end does not provide a detailed--pov on any of them, it's more like a jack-of-all-trades but good for none.
I'm kinda tired of seeing both the LGBT genre and the Vampire genre all thrown into endless pointless mixtures that rarely provide a good end result, i think it's better you just focus on one-- entirely, instead of mixing and splicing multi ones into a project, it will always lack focus, on the right things, spesh when you draw a webtoon, i think only the most veterans can do justice with such a mix, that's why most new things fail miserably...

Let's hope we won't be seeing a new webtoon depicting your flower shop boy-villain turning hero -- Vampire--noodle cooking warrior, it's just cringe, if you don't have what it takes just don't ruin history-- go for something you are good at-- instead of that.

-- just my two cents and a pair of bloody sharp fangs.

Unexpectely a really good series, compelling and touching

I really didn't expeted to like this series so much, since I had watched Discipline like 4 years ago and I didn't like It at all.
I mean, this time I really liked the plot. It was interwined and It included the them of immortality, a bit of crime, hacking, friendship and a really cute love Story with one of the characters from the first part, Ji Han, Just come back from France to Korea. Ji Han and Asin Story literaly made my heart flatter.
It is unusual that I get passionate about something in this way, and it's the first time that I get passionate about a korean series (parte from Color Rush maybe), since I dont like them at all. This time I found It really good.
I didn't like the vague ending, but I like tò imagine that Ji Han and Asin and Hyung Tae and Jay will have a Happy ending together. I liked their friendship group and I liked Ji Han and Ashin as a most of all. I really hope in a sequel, but I'm not fooling myself, I already know I won't get It, since this series Is 4 years old and we don't have any news.

I don't have lot to say, It was short but intense.
We see western actors speaking english and korean, and korean speaking english, because some parts are set in France (if I'm not wrong there are also parts in French).
In the last episode there Is a bit of violence and maybe too much paranormal that ruins the story a bit, but in the complex I found it amazing, don't ask me why.
