Older professional, competent female lead with talented (music in My Fated Boy, Badminton/Tennis in Nothing But You) younger male lead.
Leo Wu portrays the ML of both dramas.
Both dramas are sports based, while Nothing But You focuses more on the sport, management and has a 2nd/3rd couple.
Both ML's are devouted to the FL and feel they need to compete and be great to have a chance to be with their significant other.
Both are slow burn romance drama however Nothing But You is much more slow burn because the romance does start to develop much later than in AASOL

Both are a romance between an older FL and a younger ML. Both MLs fall first and pursue the FL who is hesitant due to their age gaps/his career.
- Main leads from both shows that have relatable and realistic career struggles
- Both leads have careers in different industries and met by chance, but are able to empathise with each other and give each other the spark to move forward
(1) Jing Jing is an actress while Yu Tu is a scientist
(2) Song San Chuan is a professional athlete while Liang You An is a corporate marketer
- Main leads from both shows found the courage and strength to pursue their dreams / passions / interests after meeting each other
- The romance development of both shows are slow burn, with matured and sensible approach
Random Fun Fact:
Jing Jing, an actress and Song San Chuan, a professional athlete have more similarities in their work nature than we think in principle. This is highlighted in a conversation between Alex and Liang You An in Nothing But You. One of the main job as a manager of professional athletes is to create a star. When see from this lens, there is a certain level of persona and public image to create for professional athlete and actor/ actress. SSC’s portfolio of work is his competition and results while JJ’s portfolio is her show and fans receptivity.

This comparison may be a stretch in that it’s more broad, but while I was watching EF I thought it had the same vibe as this drama. These are both dramas with very sweet moments that’ll have you grinning, giggling, and kicking your feet. EF and NBY both incorporate a taboo/forbidden romance and both I would say have light drama. NBY is taboo in that it’s boss/employee and younger man/older woman. However, they are different in that the characters in NBY are in a sports drama and the characters are older.
Here’s the plot summary: Liang You An, an executive assistant to a powerful boss has been stagnant in her position that was going nowhere. With plans to resign, she got her opportunity by meeting Song San Chuan, a professional badminton player going through a traumatic period in his life which rendered him stuck. Their chance encounter sent both on life and career altering paths that had them first becoming acquaintances, then friends, and then slowly growing into something more. While she encouraged him to be the first person ever to transfer from professional Badminton to professional Tennis, he at nearly 10 years her junior provided support and uncharacteristic wisdom. Could these two seemingly different people ultimately succeed in their goals, life, and love?
