It's a fluffy and cute bl drama that will make your heart flutter
oh myyyyy tbh i didn't had my hopes up for this drama coz when i read a manga and was adopted into a series like this one, i don't expect that much. but heeeeeeey it did really exceeded my expectations and the adaptation was a *chef kiss* they really did gave a justice on this manga and thankfully didn't ruined it. the actors were really suitable for their respective roles, tho on Aida's character, it still lacks something on his acting, but it's fine still. on Ida's character as well, I don't really feel his love towards aoki so his acting is pretty mediocre. The one that really stood out for me is Aoki. he did his role perfectly. his looks and acting were suitable. Was this review helpful to you?
in one month, I've watched this drama twice
guess the title says it all !it was my first BL, and now, I don't know many I've watched/read till now !
the actors are really good, and the story is quite nice and original and it was a faithful adaptation of the manga.
it was a great representation of how pure love can grow between two people, and bring them together, regardless of what might come between them
I really liked Ren meguro, he played Ida so skillfully and naturally, and I hope to see him in more dramas in the future !

did the manga justice !!
The Kieta Hatsukoi live action changed the trajectory of my life...I laughed, I cried, I levitated...it was a wonderful watch that I highly recommend if you are into slice of life with wholesome romances ?The actors did an incredible job bringing the KH characters to life. Shunsuke did the unimaginable--mastered Aoki's overly-expressive demeanor and brought a cute spin to it! Ren demonstrated Ida's conflict-turned-curiousness so well I felt like I was reading the manga all over again ??
One of the hardest parts about finishing a drama is saying goodbye to the cast and characters ? A rewatch is surely in order!

Funny & warm coming of age BL drama
I don't watch BL series but was drawn to this Japanese drama because of Ren Meguro and this drama would be leaving Netflix on 14 October. This series is light-hearted and fun! What I liked:
1) Story - It's a simple, cute story about a boy having a crush on his classmate. It started off as a honest mistake but soon he developed feelings for the classmate, who happens to be a boy. It's great to see how 2 characters deal with their feelings for one another - one character more expressive and self-aware while the other one restrained.
2) Acting - Shunsuke Michieda was delightful to watch. He looked like a young Lee Min Ho during Boys over Flowers era but softer. Ren Meguro complements Shunsuke - his character was more intense and Ren was great at expressing longing & stolen glances.
3) Supporting characters - Ms Hashimoto & Aida-san added a lot of depth to the story. Fascinating to watch Aoki-Hashimoto dynamics and Aoki-Aida dynamics because of the difference. I love that Hashimoto has a lot of sass especially around Aida.
4) Ending - was very sweet as it plays homage to the mistake that took place in episode 1.
What I disliked:
1) Hard to find anything that I disliked but there was a scene which Aoki experienced prejudice. Though it was great to see challenges facecd by LGBTQ+ character, I think it was resolved too quickly.
2) I would also like to know reactions from both mothers of Aoki & Ida. They were cameos from them so why not reaction about son's relationship.
Favourite scene:
When Hashimoto became feisty around Aida. So funny!

Sincere and sweet!
Oh I loved Kieta Hatsukoi, the first half of the show was especially good! There were typical misunderstandings and miscommunication and it caused drama, but not *drama* it never felt unnecessary or overblown in the vein of "you lied to me, how could you betray my trust!" etc.The characters were for the most part very likable, especially Aoki, Ida and Hashimoto and the acting was really enjoyable to watch. It was a teen romance so of course there were some cringey parts but that's life lol they still made a very cute and believable couple.
Both Ida and Aoki had some serious real life issues to work through that affected their relationship, Ida with his uncertainty of his own feelings and Aoki with his internalised homophobia, and had the show been longer I think we would have gotten a much more in depth look into both, but I think the show still handled it well. As I mentioned at the beginning, I felt the first half was stronger than the latter part, the story felt like it was treading in place a little compared to the beginning but it wasn't too bad, I enjoyed all of it still!
Would absolutely love to see a second season, Kieta Hatsukoi has become one of my favourites <3

Soft and Sweet drama
It seems that Japanese bl really dominating us haha besides from Cherry Magic this one is also good to watch to. It's not hardcore as what typical bl we watch; it's just sweet and soft to watch no need kissing scene to make this drama to be called good I think their chemistry alone is enough to makes us love this drama. Although yes they may be some cliché scenes like high school love etc... but you know as long as you enjoy it you would not mind every scene that you think you already saw somewhere.Story: as I said there are some scene that are pretty cliché but I enjoyed it anyway haha. 9/10
Acting: I don't have any problem with their acting; and you're gonna know this is a japanese series if you're gonna see their overly but not overlydone face expression. I think only Japanese actors can pull that off that kind of face expression and I like it tbh. 10/10
Music: Omg, they are the one who sang the opening and ending that's why I appreciated more. 10/10
Rewatch value: I don't have any plan yet to rewatch this but 7/10 for me.
I recommend this drama to anyone if you want some soft and sweet drama to watch to. Thank you for reading this! I hope you a good day/night! 33

Stressed out? this feel-good show is for you!
As far as I can remember, this is the second JBL I have watched! I like this so much! I kind of wished this was longer or it has a sequel since I want to see how the story of Ida and Aoki unfolds! Very cute, light, and heartwarming! If everyone were like Ida, being rejected wouldn't hurt that much lmao. As someone who is currently reading the manga, I can't help but giggle since they are exactly what I thought they would be, especially Hashimoto-san. Since this is my second BL, it made me set the standard so high in school BLS HAHAHAHAHA I also like how wholesome the characters are since they are all supportive except for that teacher who also starred in another BL. Also, for those of you who don't know, Shin of Minato's Laundromat is here! He is so funny here lmaoWas this review helpful to you?

AMAZING
honestly it was so amazing. The first ep i watched it just brought a smile to my face and i was laughing my heart out already. I love how it has a cute funny side but also focuses on a deeper subject of prejudice against homosexuals. I really loved how both the main characters had such lovely and supportive friends. The teacher was also such a supportive sweetheart. I really enjoyed how ida really though about dating aoki even though he was the same gender and idn't let that get in the way. they both had a beautiful cute relation ship that i love so much. One of my favourite charecters was Akkun just because of how much enjoyment he added into the series. He seriously had me smiling even though he was a bit clueless he has my heart. The girl was so sweet and supportive and i love how aoki and her friendship grew just as aoki and ida's relationship grew. Honestly one of the best Bls i have seen overall not just as a japanese bl. I really enjoyed it and will def rewatch it again. It was so interesting. Please do support the series and i hope you have as much fun i had while watching this series. I hope i was able to convince u to watch itWas this review helpful to you?

I watch this every week until it's final episode, and it was a very great series. it all started with an awkward misunderstanding, but i'm glad that they finally together. I really love Mio and her supporting role in ida and aoki's relationship and her negativity remarks during the camp was very funny too! aoki was a little bit too much sometimes, but still, i can't hate him. ida, is your typical cool guy of the school. but i loved it when he smiles to aoki and make him nervous HAHAHA. aida is kinda an ass but as the series goes, he got a lot better (like thank gosh). I love this series and I hope it could get a s2! Was this review helpful to you?
Just a good watch, clean satisfying and fun
This drama is just interesting, fun and the length is perfect. It’s nothing too conceptual, just a fun bl with interesting scenarios and characters. I quite enjoy the straightforwardness of this drama, everything is as it seems but it never feels plain. This is definitely a happy and fun watch and the romance is structured well. You have to watch this at least once. Characters are good and acting is good and when it intends to be this drama is funny. Very lovable drama you should watch. So yeah, i really like this and it reflects a normal but interesting highschool romance. Was this review helpful to you?
MANO

If perfection was a BL :)
I usually don't write review for various reason ,but after I've re-watched Kieta Hatsukoi for the fifteenth time since it came out, I decided it's time to share my opinion.Long story short Kieta Hatsukoi it's a simple still really entertaining show ,I loved every single moment of it, it was such a heartwarming experience, if you like Soft BL like me and you've been searching for new wholesome characters to fall in love with, this is for you.
The Plot is simple and really funny , it's like a development journey you make with the character, which make you bond with each of them for different reason , without the need that many BL Drama have of a complex plot or a sort-of toxic relationship (of which I'm not really a fan of) ,to keep the public entertained.
The whole cast did such an amazing job ,I fell in love with Michieda Shunsuke (Aoki) in literally 5 minutes and I'm pretty convinced he is happiness personified, in contrast with him Meguro Ren(Ida) did an amazing job representing his character simplicity and making his character really interesting at the same time(I'm not gonna lie He is really handsome too) and we can't forget Fukumoto Riko (as Hashimoto) acting as the strong ,supportive female character we all love to see.
Also Suzuki Jin(Akkun) deserve to be mentioned for the versatility of his role ,proving he can act really well even in a less serious role as we had seen in Given.
Actually I don't think less importance should be given to the soundtrack, in fact the opening is made by なにわ男子 (Group of which Michieda Shunsuke is a member),while the ending is by Snow Man (Group of which Meguro Ren is a member) both were stuck in my head for months after seeing Kieta Hatsukoi for the first time, actually I like to think of this two songs, the first having an happy atmosphere and the second being sad, express somehow Aoki and Ida different personalities. Give it a listen :)
I wrote too much, still hope you'll find this useful and you'll enjoy this masterpiece as much as I did...
