Really really enjoyable - but had some 'wtf' moments
I started watching this one back in October, left it on-hold for three months, and finally finished it. LessgoThe good
- Aoki is an adorable protagonist. He's quite quirky, and the actor who plays him can border on too over-the-top sometimes, but he's so cute and sells it amazingly well. His performance is very funny and animated, I really liked it. He's also incredibly kind, and thoughtful (almost paranoic lol), and always looks out for others over his own well-being. He treats women with RESPECT (love him for that), he's hard working, upbeat and so likeable overall. I want to be friends with him so bad
- Hashimoto is also a godsend. What a great friend oh my god, I love her, I'm obsessed - she was always encouraging Aoki, while dealing with her own feelings, and was super nice to everyone without being a pushover (honestly, those slaps had me fucking dying. She's a queen).
- In that same vein, Aoki and Hashimoto's friendship is everything I want in this life. They are so relatable, add me to their groupchat please.
- Hashimoto and Aida's relationship - I am obsessed. At one point I liked them more than the main couple, can you believe that? It's just so natural and banter-y and they tease each other so much and it's so fun to watch.
- Aoki in a dress and a wig. Need I say more? Bro was looking drop-dead gorgeous
The 'wtf'
- Ida's character is kind of... all over the place. He's not connected to his emotions at all, which is *fine* (he could be ace, for all we know), but the way he leads Aoki on at the beginning is not nice. If you're not sure about how you feel about a person, don't date them to see if you find out - that's so cruel, even if you don't intend it to be. I think him and Aoki needed to communicate more, they are very different and that causes multiple misunderstandings throughout the series (the hand-touching, for example).
- Them breaking up in the last episode was just not it. Or, at least, if you want me to ship them and want them together. From what I saw, Aoki was way too paranoid in their relationship and Ida was too nonchalant, there was a gap there and they weren't seeing each other's perspectives. I agree with Aoki that they weren't even dating, he was right to be upset about that - as I've mentioned, you do not date people just because you 'might' like them.
- They forgave the homophobic teacher way too fast. I'm not a violent person, so the way his drunk ass would have gone flying into the river or the nearest dumpster if I were there is kind of out of character for me. But oh well. Have fun drowning I guess
There's some amazing episodes in this series. The first two were incredible, so so funny, definitely a must watch. The rest are kind of a gamble. Who would've thought that the relationship would be my least favorite aspect of the series?

A well acted feel good with a decent storyline.
This series is full of cute misunderstandings which are dealt with really well. The characters are all adorable, and the romance in this series is very innocent and sweet. They slowly learn how to communicate and deal with everything between themselves. It has a happy ending for everyone, so has great rewatch value as well.I love that the characters playing this show act with all their emotions, and although it may feel that it's overreaction, it's a great copy from the manga!
It's a feel good series I highly recommend.

Embarrassing In a Good Way
This show is so positive and heartwarming! The plot is great. I mean, this guy thinking you have a crush on him when you're tryna help out your 'friend who does'? It's a great story and the actors Michieda and Meguro play it very well.Michieda's over the top expressions really top this off. It can be cringe but it's funny and to be honest, with all the embarrassing stuff he goes through, he has appropriate reactions. Ida's chill personality is portrayed very well by Meguro. He's super cool and definitely the right guy to play this character. I mean, just compare him to the manga - a spitting image! Don't get me started on his dog, how adorable!
I love everything about this show, it's such a vibe. The friendship with other characters aswell and how they develop their own relationships is lovely to watch.
There's nothing you can go wrong with when watching My Love Mix-Up!

Even though I’ve seen this two times I am still in love with it
This is definitely one of the most cutest dramas on earth! I loved each second of it and even if you didn’t read the manga it felt like you didn’t need too because you basically watched it. Each character had their own unique differences and were all amazing in their own way. Aoki is so cute and funny and I literally want to be him because of how amazing he is. Also I’m just saying I may apply that eraser hack into my life if it’s actually true. I’m just gonna say there may be spoilers ahead so be aware. It was a very nice and not confusing plot like most BL dramas, but of course it’s a school plot drama. The whole plot is basically Aoki is a high schooler and he has a best friend which is Hashimoto and they both basically complete each other. One day they have a test and Aoki forgets his eraser and he asks one from Hashimoto and she lets him borrow an eraser at the same time Aoki has a crush on her, but when he sees something written on an eraser it’s a name of one of their classmates named Ida and Aoki gets startled and drops the eraser on the ground and the person who sits in front of him is Ida and he sees the eraser and gives it to Aoki, but does a double take because he saw his name on it and asked if it was his, so Aoki had to lie for the sake of Hashimoto and said it’s his so Ida thought that Aoki likes him. Over time Ida starts paying a whole lot of attention to Aoki and Aoki tries to get Hashimoto be with Ida all the time and Aida keeps butting in all the time, but while that happens Aoki starts to develop feelings for Ida instead. The class also had to do a performance of Cinderella and Aoki, Aida, Hashimoto, and Ida were going to do props and sets until the two main class leads got sick and had to drop out of the show and Ida was the prince and Hashimoto was Cinderella, but Hashimoto has stage fright and begged to not do it so Aoki stole Cinderella and while everyone laughed the four of them were happy that Aoki did something so kind. On the day of the show they ate it up except for Aoki slipping and Ida catching him and Aoki got mad and walked out and forgot to leave his shoe so he threw it at Ida which was so funny, but Aoki did get a lot of hate because of that and was called very homophobic comments, but Ida did stand up for him.
On the day on the camping trip they have to get their own food that’s in the mountains somewhere, but since both Aoki and Hashimoto hate bugs they end up only getting one item and in the end Ida ends up sharing with Aoki and Hashimoto, the following night Aoki and Ida hang out and they ended up falling down the hill and while Aoki woke up Ida wasn’t moving so he thought he was never gonna wake up so Aoki started to cry and say that he will never forget him, but Ida woke up and laughed at Aoki for overreacting. Overtime from them tutoring each other and sitting near each other they both end up having feelings for each other, and Aoki at the same time as Hashimoto said their feelings about who they liked and once Aoki realized it wasn’t Ida, but Aida instead he was relieved, but also surprised, after that they ended up dating and although they had one break they got back together and were absolutely adorable. Also Hashimoto was a baddie for slapping Aida for talking bad about Aoki. Even though this show didn’t have any kisses it was actually so amazing and were better than shows that need the kiss scenes. My favorite part of this show was when they were in a school camping trip and when it was the Cinderella play it was so adorable. I definitely recommend this show because it’s a must watch!

I've never been so happy that "miscommunication" is the foundation of the drama's conflict!
The plot of this drama is truly exceptional. It breaks away from the typical predictable high school love story and offers a fresh perspective while still maintaining the sweet and innocent essence of young love. The pacing is just right, neither dragged out nor rushed, and the story unfolds with perfect consistency. Unlike other stories where unspoken feelings lead to prolonged tension, this drama avoids that trope, making for a much more enjoyable to watch.Although Japanese BL miscommunication is a common issue, Aoki and Ida's relationship stands out because they manage to avoid this pitfall. While they do have occasional disagreements, these conflicts stem from their struggle to comprehend their newfound emotions rather than from any lack of communication. This unique approach adds depth to their characters and makes their story all the more compelling.
I appreciate the inclusion of the secondary storylines involving Aida and Hashimoto as supporting characters. Their presence adds a sense of wholesomeness to the overall story. Furthermore, I admire the writer's decision not to portray Hashimoto as the typical third-wheel character, which is a refreshing departure from the overused trope often seen in similar stories. This choice contributes to the unique and engaging nature of the storytelling.
The casting for the characters in the show is truly exceptional. Michieda Shunsuke's portrayal of Aoki is nothing short of brilliant. He effortlessly embodies the goofy, funny, clumsy, and kind aspects of the character, while also delivering the sincere, strong, mindful, and considerate traits with great skill. His acting is consistently top-notch, and I couldn't find a single scene where his performance felt anything less than genuine. Additionally, Maguro Ren deserves praise for his portrayal of the inexperienced first-time lover, as he brings the character to life with remarkable authenticity, drawing the audience into the story.
I commend the production team for their ability to portray various scenes in different locations, which keeps viewers engaged and eager for the next episodes. Additionally, the background music is a perfect complement to the story. The carefully curated OST enhances the drama and is well-suited to the overall narrative. This attention to detail adds depth and richness to the viewing experience.
Overall, this drama is a must-watch for anyone looking for a fresh take on young love and a well-executed plot.

Healthiest Jap BL couple!!!
I love how misunderstanding is cleared up almost instantly. I mean, if a high schooler can do this, why can't other BL couples do this? Lol..I also love side straight couple. I am usually biased towards supporting the BL couple, but this is the first show I actually love all couples and enjoy the entire show, without skipping scenes.Music is spot on. Development is great. Really funny, cute and loving
The only thing is I still don't understand why they break up. I feel like its a plot twist for the sake of. Depsite it, since its a happy ending, I'll take it. Also, since they are in high school, I guess its common to break up easily for no reasons. After all, its their first relatioship and they did really well for that
It seems unlilely but I'm happy for a special episode or season 2, even!
Also, Ida gets cuter at each scene!

Recomendo demaaais!!
Vale muuuito a pena assistir.
