My heart is black with despair.

"My heart is black with despair."

So many struggling characters! Ah, my heart. Especially the romance. I know everyone is so ticked that the Emperor isn't making the love cut. Let's be real, it's not about the actor in the end it is about the characters. With the development I'm firmly on King of Goryeo's side. There's still room for more, as in the Emperor to grow. That said I love that the King of Goryeo figured out the people weren't enough to keep fighting an living, it was Seung Nyang, (Now Ki Seung at the palace.)

How freaking dense is the Emperor? I mean he saw Seung Nyang with a wrap around his torso, and now someone who looks completely like him? Duh? Goodness. It especially annoys me since the Emperor was supposed to be clever.

Oh, and I've been wondering this whole time what Seung Nyang thought would happen once she killed the Emperor? She even realizes that he isn't truly the one to blame. She's after vengeance from the wrong people. Ugh. Even after realizing the consequences she's wallowing a bit. I get it though, I'd wallow as well. Plus, it's not easy going from the freedom of a man to the prison of a woman of the time.

The new Empress is interesting. Well evil. I have to applaud the actress, she has range. I've been watching her in Missing 9.

The war scenes ended up dragging a bit, but I love the build up of them. I think they could use a bit closer cutting though. I bet the Kind of Goryeo already regrets not killing Yom.

The King, Ki Seung-Nyang, and the Emperor!

We see each has it's mountains to conquer.

One wanting to return to the one he loves.

The other two, seeking revenge.

Each fighting to prevail.

Conspiracy everywhere...in all three fronts.

Each thinking of the other.

What a triangle!

-.-

Because Sungnyang annoyed me nearly throughout the whole episode I couldn't enjoy it sufficiently. I just can't understand her bloodlust. If I were her I would want to kill Yom the scum Dang Ki Se or whoever was responsible for her fathers death. That really annoyed me and I just wanted to hit her so hard. Fortunately the court lady knocked some sense in her revenge-bent head.
Also didn't I like that the King only held on during the fight with Yom for Sungnyang. A King shouldn't just think of his love interest. Isn't he supposed to think of his people first?
And this cocky Tansili is also very annoying. Who does she think she is? She doesn't have anything special but still is she so full of herself.

For me this definitely wasn't one of the best episodes. But I believe that the next one will be much better. I am looking forward to it.

O.o

He looked her right in the face... Ta Hwan I love you but... You looked her right in the face! You followed her! You studied her from different angles... and still. "Do you have a brother...??" >_< Sigh. I guess it'll take a awhile for him to grow haha. I can wait. :)

The scene where he yells at the Empress Dowager broke my heart. He wants to have revenge for his father and lead his people and he's got his own ideas about how to do it but everyone keeps pushing him into a corner. I can't wait till he's in a position to finally put his foot down.

Also when Seung Nyang gets reprimanded by the other Palace Maid for forgetting what her actions could mean for the people of Goryeo - so sad, but the Maid was right and I think that was what hurt the most. She didn't want to think about the people of Goryeo anymore, every sacrifice she's made has been for Goryeo. :(

Also, I want more of the King... Seeing him rallying up the troops like he has and their unwavering support is like a shining light throughout those scenes. Also seeing him hit Byung-Soo was so satisfying... >_>
