Morisaki Taku is a college student in Tokyo. Flying home to the city of Kochi for vacation, he recalls the events of his last two high school years. A late transfer student named Muto Rikako transfers into Taku's school and immediately establishes herself as a star student, although she hates southern Japan, and does not fit in with the rest of the class. She also "borrows" money from Taku during a school trip so she can travel to Tokyo and visit her father. Her trip, accompanied by Taku, begins to cause trouble for him around the school and bring him in conflict with his best friend Matsuno Yutaka, who likes Rikako. Slowly Taku realizes he also likes Rikako despite her faults, but is unable to tell his friend about it. (Source: DramaWiki) Edit Translation

Ghibli movie ocean waves's sequal
People should watch this after watching the ghibli movie ocean waves. It is pretty much direct sequal to it (with minor flashbacks and references to ocean waves)For some reason, all the female actress in this movie are too beautiful. But acting itself was kind of bad mostly. At times poor casting choice especially mother roles feel too young. The film sets and props are questionable (especially eyepatch was a poor choice). Though it has good music which matches the tone of the story. Character presence (especially of the second lead) and chemistry between the characters are suprisingly present (much more than the ghibli movie tbh). Also there is the bit of olden era nostalgic and realistic tone through the background scenery which is present as a plus .
But overall it still is a low budget film with inexperienced cast. Despite that it is pretty enjoyable. I feel like both this and ghibli movie had their own problems in different aspects. But together they somewhat makes up for each other.
