Disappointing
Big dragon is one of those dramas that promised big but failed miserably . I have in my time watched alot of BL series but this one was quite frankly the worst I've come across. Majorly for the following 2reasons :1. The storyline : the writers watched all the top ranked thai bls and then tried to smush it all into 8 episodes of misery. The story is so all over the place and had me rolling my eyes every 2 minutes. I feel like the writers halfway tried so had to recreate KinnPorsche without getting copyrighted that they forgot what their original story was.
I lost my hopes on the lead couple after the first 2 episode but i stuck around to see if there would be something of a second lead couple between the bodyguards but that just went straight out of the window and then the Lesbian couple left me feeling just sad coz there was so much potential there but their portrayal tilted more on the good friends side than the couple side.
2. Acting: Honestly couldn't understand what the actors were trying to do with themselves and i would blame that on the directors because i feel they weren't worked into the characters by the directors properly. The actors seemed to have alot of potential but i guess it wasn't used well.
Big Dragon in my view is just a Big Hot Mess i wouldn't want to touch again. They went wrong with everything that they could have possibly gone wrong with and thats just disappointing.

Good Leads, But Bad Direction & Plot !
The direction and plot of this BL was all overall the place. So many things going on and with only 8 episodes it’s not enough time to flesh it all out. The only good thing about this BL was the leads they kept my interest because of their chemistry on screen. I seen there is a season 2 in the world and judging by the cliffhanger it’s another plot device that found in the first season that didn’t get invested in enough. If they had honestly had more episodes like from 12-16 they could’ve filled all the other side plots and given them reason to be there instead of leaving it hanging. Was this review helpful to you?
TOXIC
I so look forward to this drama ... but dam i was not expecting the toxic abuse that it going portray. What I imagined was a slightly adult drama. What I got was a hot mess and not in a good way. Dark yes, but, again, not in a good way, actually very problematic. Not gritty and not adult, but your typical college BL with typical first world problems, an overpacked plot and very little substance. In short, a disappointment.
Both men were actually not normal, for me from the start when he drugged the man i should have known that this drama was heading down the wrong way ... it just literally went down hill from there. then we had a cheating scena and he gets caught but some how they end up back together.
the whole backwards and forwards was just a non starter.
Overall: just watch for the sake of it and nothing else?

A Little Bit Dissapointing.
I've given the rating that I have for multiple reasons. (This is a review based on my own opinions. There could be people that feel totally different about this series and you are welcome to. I just write these reviews because I like putting my thoughts on a series on paper.)1. Great story idea but not well executed. I liked how their relationship started as hating each other to loving each other but the execution of it was pretty disappointing. The chemistry was really lacking as well. I don't want to insult or discredit the hard work that these actors do for these series but sometimes it just doesn't work. The story is quite focused on the sexual aspect of their relationship because that is how it started but even with that I was a bit disappointed.
2. The rest of the series was a little bit to fast paced. The beginning is pretty fast with the couple basically both getting drugged because of bad handling of the drugs and then having sex and you would understand that that part comes first and is quite fast paced because it is the start of their relationship as it were. But the rest of the story was just as fast paced which made it feel distant for me. It feels like they were trying to put multiple storylines in one season of just 8 episodes. It also wasn't edited or shot as if a lot of time passed between when they met each other and they eventually ended up with each other. It felt like a week passed and they were from hating each other to loving each other.
3. Nothing major happens to break up this couple. There was a friend of Yai that showed up that was a slight threat to their relationship but very quickly you know that Yai only sees him as a friend and nothing more. The engagement issue was solved in one episode. I honestly thought that that would be a problem throughout the entire series but it wasn't. I think that that would have been better for the story. They wanted to put too much in 8 episodes.
4. Kinky stuff hinted at in trailer but next to nothing in series. In the trailer there was hinted to Yai liking more kinky stuff and there were some very quick shots with some in it. In the series there was nothing of that kind. Now I have to say that if I like a BL or not doesn't depend on that but when you insinuate that this is the case you should at least deliver some of that. In episode 3 there was a moment that Yai was getting whipped by a girl in Dominatrix outfit while he was just sitting on the side of a bathtub uninterested in what she was doing. Guys that was all that they put in the series that was hinting at a kinky side to him. I was really disappointed with that. If you don't want to put something like that in a series then don't hint at it. The timing for me with that is also really annoying because it almost feels like they wanted to pull the VegasPete fans in with the trailer but then never delivered.
I didn't even notice that the 8th episode was the last episode when I was watching it. There was nothing in this series that jumped out at me and excited me. There was nothing that really drew me into the story. Nothing that made my heart beat faster or made me feel sad or angry. I would probably watch, if there is going to be , a 2nd season of this show but only when it has fully aired just because waiting for this show was a bit disappointing every week.

The plot is like a CASTLE..... Sand castle if u know what I mean
This is one of those series that progressively losing its charm after the first few episodes. Ngl the first EP really got me hooked bcuz it's so passionately aggressive that we're like entering a whole ass kinky era of BL series but as the story progresses, it became a soft mediocre one. I don't think it's that bad, it's just like a bunch of BL series of every genre with their respective BL tropes that are just so used that it's not that good anymore. Idunno. Tbh I still enjoy the series but I think it could've been better. Thankfully they didn't have hateful bitches trying to be homewreckers. The aggressiveness of the series really toned down gradually. The first few episodes were fire then it evolved into another series that is contrast to the scenes we've seen in the first episode. The realization of both having met each other when they're young is redundant and the fixed marriage is very annoying. I know Mangkorn and the girl's parents weren't homophobic or demanding about the fixed marriage but I thought it would be nice if that was taken out of the context. It just add up to Yai's confusion of making Mangkorn his boo. I didn't also liked the love triangle of Nine, Yai and Mangkorn. Nine is just out of place there. He's more like Yai's uncle tbh. If that's what happen in the novel, i think the writer shouldn't add that up. ISBANKY and Mos chemistry were there but it's just the plot. I love Fong (Park) here. He's a cute bodyguard here. Everytime he gets screen time I was just love staring at him like the whole time. Besides all that, the whole premise were like "two rivals who got drunk and slept with each other then Mangkorn got the evidence in his hands" that's it. After deleting the video, I guessed that would probably end the series.
I know there were family problems with Yai and Mangkorn going abroad for his internship but idunno. This was a mess in the last few eps but I still thought it was worth finishing. It's not a series that I would just leave not finishing the entirety. I think the plot execution is the real problem here. Now they're getting a second season, writers, directors should take their time to make it better than this. They should maybe incorporate something and do not throw another used tropes. Overall this was a somewhat decent series for me.

Though the plot again twisted but I'm looking forward to ep 8 and a happy ending......
this is a great show with great visual.... the cinematography, the casting, musics, and the overall arrangements are so good ...... the love scenes are mild which is most adorable to me....every characters are good in their own way....yeah and about the two main cast , i want to say that they are quite good and they have a good chemistry cz bl is such a series that needs the support from both the two leads.....the about screen writing, if u have watched 'THE UNTAMED' the best ever chinese drama then you'll understand what's the definition of plot twist....and really I've found big dragon alike that ....so keep patience...i hope the whole story will be quite good....so don't judge a book by its cover ...try to feel the story...it is really heartwarming...i hope they will not break us...
BTW THERE'S still one ep left and i hope it will be a hit one :D.

What on earth was this...
This series was so weird. It's like they had a lot of ideas for the start and then didn't care anymore. Almost felt like they changed writers and director half way through:***SPOILERS AHEAD***
For example, it started so dark, like two men of the night that looked almost like mafia members, and then by episode 4 it turned into normal university students and the darkness was gone (the animosity, the bdsm, the playboy look, everything). It was so funny to listen to the song "dancing with the devil", like, Mangkorn was a devil for like two seconds? The dark opening was sooo funny when it came after episode 5 or 6 cos it didn't look like it belonged in that show.
Also Yai looked really masculine at the start, I guess to sell the image that he was a player with the ladies, but after a few episodes all I could see was a little feminine kid, more close to what isbanky is really like, which is fine but the change didn't make any sense lol
The s&m part was promising, it explained why he was atracted to Mangkorn, since they started with violence, but that dissapeared too. Also if Mangkorn was so atracted to Yai from the start, what was that about with the girl he was making out with on the street, even after they had a thing going on. So many things the characters did didn't make any sense.
The whole arranged marriage thing was stupid as hell. Like why would you say "hey i need to marry someone else, sorry" when you clearly have other options, and everyone is telling you that if you talk to your father the matter is settled. You're creating a problem where there isn't one. It's just bad writing to create drama. The whole thing was settled with a freaking phone call, it was hilarious.
The going abroad thing: so it was supposed to be because he was running away from the arranged marriage thing, even though it was such an easy problem to fix, but then he says that doing that masters degree was something that he wanted to do since he was little? Make it make sense. Either you wanted to run away from your problems or you've always wanted to go.
The flowers thing also didn't make any sense, why would you task your love rival with giving flowers to your boyfriend and not say they're from you. Stupidest thing I've heard in my life.
Also just a random thought, but mangkorn's tatoo was so very fake. Tattoos aren't that dark.
I kinda started this because I felt like watching something "spicy" but... the sex scenes... I don't know if anybody thinks like me but the sex scenes I think were supposed to be frantic like 'we just can't stop cos we're so hot for each other' type of thing (like kinnporsche), but they came out kinda clumsy and uncoordinated, awkward and all over the place. It was hard to watch, I swear. It looked like two horny teenagers who didn't know what they were doing and have never been with a human being before in their lives.
I have to recognize tho, that the scenes about yai's mother, and when Mangkorn was leaving, did make me cry. But overall I didn't like this dumpster fire of a show. It was like watching a hard dick get limp in slow motion. Watched episode 7 and went to sleep, and I've never done that with just one episode left in a Bl before in my life. I do not want a season 2 of this mess. I watched this bc I liked Mosbank, and they did their best with the script they had in front of them, but this mess is 100% bad writing all over the place. I wish they wouldn't do season 2 since there's so many shows out there that deserve a second season and I think Mosbank should do another project together that's better than this hot mess.
Only thing I liked was the cinematography and the music, but of course it was not enough to compensate all the other bs.

Was fun till the last episode
The last episode was terrible, he plans to study abroad on a whim to escape his family and then still goes and leaves Yai who has experienced pain of his mother dying and him being alone. he could have done the masters in Thailand. this ruined the romance for me.Am I supposed to think its sweet when he prematurely returns and says he dosen't want to complete the rest of the degree? This just shows how it didn't mean much to him anyway and he should have just not done it to begin with. TRASH
It has a wonderful soundtrack but is triggering to watch. very dissapointed.

talent and technology can't make up for a bad story
This is a flawed story line right from the start. Neither the screenwriter or the director attempted to smooth out the many obvious imperfections in the story. They tried to make up for it by adding humor. But even the humor is not enough to remedy the big hole in the production - the lack of a good story. The writer and director could have done more. The case was average - not bad; but because the script was bad, all the talent does not make up for the poor story. I tried to give this chance by watching a few episodes. But in the end, the story was lame. Was this review helpful to you?

Not My Forte
I can't seem to really get into this series. I told myself I would give it at least three episodes to draw me in, but I've felt nothing at all. I think the plot is superlatively corny and idiotic. Immediately we are pushed into an SA situation made lighthearted and fun. I try not to be the Debby downer and be so serious with stuff obviously formed to be carefree, but still, especially in their given situation, it was a bit much for me. Which immediately turned me off from having any likes for the main couple. I would've stayed had Park and Phong been a secondary couple, but I was informed that they go nowhere, so this is a drop for me.Ratings:
Story: 3.5/10 - it literally starts off when them hating each other because they liked the same girl, and what's the best solution? a simultaneous rape. I can't. I'm going to only give it 3.5 stars because I loved Park and Phong.
Acting: 6/10 - I'm being basis and saying I loved Fong and JJ's acting. Mos was very stale and Isbanky looked like he was just here to catch a bag for his music career and dip. His acting wasn't bad, but not good either.
Music: 5/10 - I speak on his music but still have zero memory of it.
Rewatch Value: 1/10 - *cricket sounds*
I can't believe this series is getting a second season. good luck to all the BD lovers out there. There must have been something here that I didn't see. Oh well.

.
I think it's time to say say it, yai and mangkorn are so cute together and I haven't seen gl side couples since I watched bad buddy, even tho I'm watching GAP the series now, I can't remember the other girla name but she is dating Hong and that is cute. Nine kinda pisses me off but since the series ends next week he probably won't do anything to yai and mangkorn's relationship, I'm expecting him to confess to yai and then mangkorn will show up and beat him up, idk that's what I think is going to happen at the end. also something that pisses me off is the fact that Hong's and mangkorn's fathers still think that their son and daughter will marry each other like someone needs to tell them they are gay and lesbian. but it's a nice show overall and I would recommend it to a bl fanWas this review helpful to you?

A Good Intro To BL Dramas
This was my first Thai BL Drama and it did not disappoint!Something I really enjoy in BL dramas is the development of the relationship, the chemistry, and the excretion of the plot. Moss and Bank delivered an amazing drama. You can see the development of the relationship from Enemies to Lovers to Forever Partners was told so beautiful. The scenes were their chemistry shined the most was the final episode. There you could see how much Yai loved and cared about Mangkorn dream and the behind the scene video footage just sold me into the BL fandom for life.
To Me, the plot was explained pretty well and even if Season 2 wasn't to happen (which it is!!!!) their story was closed off really well. But I'M SO THANKFUL FOR THIS DRAMA AND Recommend if you are just starting out with BL Dramas cause this one shows you what you need to know going into the world of BL Dramas!
