The Mabuchis were an elite family seem as perfect. The husband, Kiyoshi, worked overseas in a trading company; the wife, Yasuko, was a perfect housewife; and the son, Shiro, was a great student at the University of Tokyo. However, while Kiyoshi was working oversees, the Mabuchi family changed completely. Yasuko became an alcoholic and Shiro lost the motivation to study and started playing around all day, even tried to end his own life. In the midst of all that, Kiyoshi is demoted to work in Japan.
