"Doujin Artist Nekoyashiki-Kun's Desire for Recognition Grows" is similar to "Oh! My Assistant" where Issae Kazama, a Jpop idol, is not only high school classmate but he is also a fan of Mamoru Nekoyashiki's drawings. It's just like Mu Yeong is Seon's fan.

The second male leads in each give off very similar vibes. They are both seemingly cold and distant, but in reality, are very much interested in the first male lead. There are a lot of comedic moments in each as well (Oh! My Assistant - mainly in the beginning).

In both stories, an assistant comes into the life of an adult novelist/artist and chanes their lives.
