Junior office clerk Tin Hoi Po falls in love with Yip Lok Ha, a girl from a poor family. Hoi Po's former girlfriend, Chu Suet Yim, is now the mistress of his boss, Manager Chow. She rekindles their affair after meeting Hoi Po, but he rebuffs her. Jealous, Suet Yim conspires with Manager Chow to send Hoi Po to Shanghai. Next, she falsely informs Lok Ha that Hoi Po's boat has sunk. Manager Chow, who has long desired Lok Ha, then makes his move to possess her. When Hoi Po returns, he learns of the conspiracy.
